Travel Lodge, Slough

...Staying at the Travel Lodge in Slough is a good option if you have to stay overnight after a long flight and don?t want to pay through the nose for hotels in the Heathrow airport area. Slough is also close to Legoland and Chessington World of Adventures. We stayed at the Travel Lodge in June, 2002. The double room we had was basic, but we didn?t expect anything else for 50 pounds a night. Our room wasn?t facing a busy road so that was a bonus. What we had was a double bed (with a duvet), a desk and chair, telephone, hairdryer, tea/coffee-making facilities, TV without a remote control for some reason. The bathroom with shower was fairly clean. Breakfast was OK, full English or continental. There?s a bar with a TV next to the dining-room, so we could enjoy our breakfast and watch the recent football match at the same time. We...

Arebbusch Travel Lodge

Advantages: Ideal base in Windhoek, very easy access to the centre of town, lovely chalets and friendly service. Campsites can be dusty, but plenty of shade.
Disadvantages: Busy road outside the gates, but you can't have everything!

...South of the city, but within easy distance to the centre of Windhoek, this charming travel lodge is an ideal base for both families and independent travellers. We much preferred here to anywhere in the centre of town, mainly due to being able to come through the manned gates and shut ourselves away in our lovely chalet. These are clean, spacious and quiet, the kitchens are moderate, but the showers are a godsend. And a double bed goes down a treat after weeks of camping! The staff are friendly and professional in reception and the restaurant . Be patient with Namibian time however - it's far slower than anywhere back in the UK and anyway, why rush in a country of such awesome landscapes - things will get done and happen....eventually! I have also camped here and found the sites lovely, as anywhere in Namibia they can get...

...Seriously if you value your health you will not book your holiday through travel city, whom are now part of the xl leisure group plc, and use xl as their airline carriers! My family and i, two adults and three kids youngest aged 6 thought we had a reasonable deal when we booked our recent holiday to orlando. It was our fourth visit and the first time we had booked with T.C.D, we also purchased sunshine first seats aswell as house and car hire as a package. When we first boarded the xl boeing 767 on the 1st feb 07 our first impression was reasonable seat pitch and that im afraid to say is the only positive thing to say. There was no meal choice for 1st class passengers and all my daughter and i was offered was salmon? 8 hrs into the 10 hr flight my daughter aged 6 violently vomitted and my husband and i started feeling very unwell...

  A Road Well Travelled

Advantages: A beautifully shot and visually strong film with Tom Hanks playing against type
Disadvantages: A story whose threads are too neatly tied

...In 1999 a British theatre director made his first feature film, a relatively low key film which managed to scoop a large number of awards and took both critics and audiences by storm. The film was 'American Beauty' and the director was Sam Mendes. 'Road to Perdition' is Mendes follow up feature, and although it doesn't quite equal 'American Beauty', it is a magnificent film which shows that Mendes has as much to give film as he has already given theatre. What 'Road to Perdition' gives us is a film that is beautifully crafted, stylishly presented and showcases excellent performances across the board. The Incompetence of Travel City Direct

Advantages: None spring to mind now
Disadvantages: Ruined family holiday

...11pm, but we would be updated at 1pm. Oh well, the hurricane, can't be helped. We eventually check our luggage in and settled down to a day at gatwick airport. At 1pm we waited but no update and no Travel City Direct reps to be found, in fact we had to wait until 5pm for an announcement for passengers on our flight to go down to the check in desk. We were then told that our flight had only just left Sanford airport on its way back and we would not now be going until the early hours of Sunday morning, but another update would come at 7pm. At 7pm we were told we would be updated at 8pm. At 8pm there were no reps around and by now approx 450 passengers were looking for information. Eventually the police arrived and wanted to know what all these people were doing there, this resulted in calls for Travel City Direct reps being called...

...well what can i say this film is absoulutely hilarious, i couldnt stop laughing through out it .a college student josh has been freinds with a girl tiffany for a long time since they were kids and they promise to never cheat on each other because they are at separate colleges but (suprise suprise ) josh does and his room mate accidentaly mails it to tiffany so they all go on a road trip to try and get the tape back before she watches it. im not going to say what happens at the end the funniest bit is with the snake .i'd give it a definite 10/10 definitely worth seeing....

...enough about the author and subjects pedigree, onto the actual book itself, as with almost all other wrestling autobiographies, it starts off focussing on Lita's up-bringing and child-hood, telling the tale of how she moved around a bit, but at a young age found a liking for 2 things - caring for animals and punk rock music. However to keep your hardcore wrestling fan interested the book doesn't settle on this too long - actually less than 100 pages go by before we start to get into the wrestling side of things, but I feel that there is actually a lot of interesting stories told in that first 100 pages. Firstly there's tales of travelling Europe in the back of a band's camper van following them on tour through Germany and other European countries, then there's the tales from when she was working for animal shelters surviving on a shoe...

Advantages: First Class cabin
Disadvantages: Hurricanes may delay take-off from UK

...We have travelled with Travel City Direct twice now, and I have not had any problems that stick in my mind. Although we did travel 1st class for better service and easier check-in etc, there were no delays and the flights were fine. I would recommend utilising their pre flight bag check in: basically you check your bags in with TCD in the morning of your last day away and you don't see them again until you arrive back. Unfortunatley our summer holiday time does coinside with Florida's hurricane season but have only had two minor ones when over there. The planes were the ones featured on their website and the food was better than any other airline I have been on, would definately go with them again...
