...About every 6-9 months, we need to buy new shoes, and what better place to do just that then Clarks, one of the UK's top shoe shops. THE WINDOWS I've seen many Clarks stores are very basic when it comes to windows, this Clarks had a few shoes on display, nothing else. Not drawing me in. SHOPABILITY There's a range of shoes in Clarks, adult shoes, trainers, school shoes and shoes for babies and toddlers. You could clearly see all the shoes being displayed, but I found everything tightly packed and there were very few different types of shoes in each selection. (e.g. one or two "Bootleg" and one or two "YoToy" under trainers) WAS I BEING SERVED? There were two people in the shop who could serve you, and they were helpful, there was one who was on the till, and one helping people try on their shoes, and also working...

Jim Clark 1936-1968

Advantages: Greatest driver in the 1960s, a proper gentleman

...This is a review of a number of sites in Scotland linked to the late Jim Clark which are little known about except to local residents & racing enthusiasts. Gentlemen Jim as he was affectionately known was probably one of the greatest racing drivers of his time. A time when motor racing was all about participating & winning, not the money & glamour obsessed sport it has now become where sponsorship deals are more important than anything else. He was born in Kilmany in Fife on the 4th March 1936, when he was four years old he moved with his parents to a farm in Duns in North Berwickshire. Just after his 17th birthday his career as a motor racing driver started racing a Sunbeam Talbot Mk3 Saloon after joining the Berwick & District Motor Club. He also raced his friends DKW, Porsche & his Sunbeam Talbot on the local airfields...

NEVER VISIT ARNOLD CLARK

...I went to Arnold Clark to buy my first car and was very pleased with the service i recieved from the sales staff, i spoke to 4 different people and all were helpfull and friendly. I signed up for a used 55 reg Ford Focus, which i recieved a great deal including 6% finance including 12 months warrenty, 6months MOT and 12 months autocare mechanical warrenty (which i later found out i was paying for and they weren't free as i was lead to believe) I picked the car up on tuesday and drove it home and then found that the bonnet would not open, I phoned them up and was told i wouldn't be able to take it back until Saturday, my dad then phoned and i was told to take it back immediatley. ...Given my experiences with Arnold Clark, I would advise anybody thinking of dealing with them to look elsewhere. I purchased a second hand car from Arnold Clark Leyland. My experiences are listed below in chronological order: 1) I was told during a test drive that the car had one previous owner. Once purchased and upon delivery of the log-book from DVLA, I discovered I was the sixth owner of the vehicle. The car was less than six months old at purchase. 2) I was told not be concerned by a damaged inside door panel and was assured a new part has been ordered and I will not be given the damaged part. ...i think this letter perfectly discribes how arnold clark treat their customers after the sale I am writing on behalf of my partner Richard Clark concerning a complaint he would like to pursue regarding your branch in Newcastle-under-Lyme.On Saturday 20th of June at around 9.30am Richard arrived in his Alpha Romeo 147 to get, what he understood, a free service as he thought it was part of the contract upon purchasing the car in June 08. Once there he was told he did not have a free service on the vehicle and so would have to pay. My partner kindly refused and was advised to see the sales manger a Mr Chris Hargreaves. Clarks Village - My favourite place to shop

Advantages: Lots of cheap designer shops
Disadvantages: Parking & runs out of popular sizes quick

...When I was a kid me and my mum headed to Clarks Village in Street Somerset a few times and back then Clarks Village was not that big and didn't have very many good shops but recently a friend mentioned that he went and recommended that we take a look, so one Saturday we took a trip there and was amazed at what we saw. I would say that it had at least tripled in size since I was last there and the quality of the shops was also a massive improvement. There are many more designer shops now and they all sell clothes, shoes, tools, furniture and more at knockdown prices, if your looking for a bargain then its def a place to consider visiting. There are about 90 shops to look around and consists of shops like Addidas, Bench, Billabong, Calvin Klein, Fat Face, Henri Lloyd, Next Clearance, Timberland and the list goes on. ...If your a parent and they wear shoes you won't want to miss clarks, They are brilliant with a good seletion of shoes to choose from, and when you buy from clarks you know they are the best shoes for little feet. The prices aren't brilliant But if you want good shoes that are going to last you have to pay the price. well at least have one good pair of shoes for them and cheaper ones for getting muddy!!! clarks also have 2 brilliant sales a year one mid december and one begining of june where childrens shoes are half price. ...MY STORY I remeber as a child my Mum dragging me in the summer holidays to Clarkes for the "back to school" shoes... Oh how I hated them.... Now i have children of my own,Im back at Clarkes buying my daughters first shoes and no doubt my sons shoes when he becomes mobile! ...My Husband purchased a Vauxhall Omega in June 2005 from Arnold Clarks Newcastle Stoke-on-Trent, After 16 days my husband had to take the car back as the engine management light had come on, they had the car for 1 week, and told us that it was now fine. It was fine until February 2006 when again the engine management light came on and the car (It is Auto) went into what they call get you home mode, whereby the gearbox sticks in high gear meaning the car has to be driven manually. It was taken to a Vauxhall garage of Arnold Clarks, and was there for 3 days. We were told that they had changed the Cam Belt and Water Pump, Why we do not know as it had nothing what so ever to do with the problem. The problem had not been resolved at all.
