* Pick a card - any card . .

Advantages: Cheap, very good too.
Disadvantages: Easy to lose them.

...These cards are 4 GB SDHC flash memory cards, made by Kingston, SDHC being short for Secure Digital High Capacity, They are suitable for all digital devices like:- cameras, camcorders, PDAs, MP3 players etc. I have tried to get onto the website, but with no luck, I will try again later. These cards are in solid state, and they are simply a storage system for information, that is all there is to it. The price is very competitive, this is because they are now made with a capacity of 12 MB, so the little 4 MB ones are a little dated, however this makes them very reasonable in price. you can expect to pay up to £18, you can get them for less from various companies online, just remember some firms charge an arm and a leg for postage, packing, and insurance. You can buy them in the high street shops but at a higher price. These are...

Panasonic SDHC: Buy it or NOT?

Advantages: Comes with a plastic container, it promises a speed of 10MB/s
Disadvantages: 4GB actually correspond to 3.6GB, it is also quite pricey

...I only recently bought a new Canon camera (which I previously reviewed) therefore I immediately needed a high capacity SD card but I knew nothing about this format so I went to indagate a bit. I'm sure you all know that SDHC are an extension of the SD standard and its name stands for Secure Digital High Capacity (often also called SD 2.0). Practically they allow capacities of more than 2GB. Now this was all new to me and on Wikipedia I went to look for more info concerning their speed and performances. and this is what I found out: SD Speed Class Ratings SDHC cards have SD Speed Class Ratings defined by the SD Association. The SD Speed Class Ratings specify the following minimum write speeds based on "the best fragmented state where no memory unit is occupied": * Class 2: 2 MB/s * Class 4: 4 MB/s * Class 6...

Fast Access SD Card

Advantages: 4GB, ESP Technology, RescuePRO
Disadvantages: None

...The Sandisk Extreme III 4 GB Compact Flash Card is ideal for digital camera's and camcorders. I needed some extra memory for my digital camera so bought this. Sandisk have a good reputation in developing flash memory cards so I thought I would go for this. With my digital camera I had a supplied 1GB card which to be honest isn't much when taking high resolution photos, it fill up pretty quick. The Sandisk SD card is a good size at 4GB storage. It also has ESP technology which basically allows data on the card to be accessed quicker. This is great for fast loading especially when taking photos with a digital camera, as the last thing you want is to wait 1 min to just see the photos you just shot. This simply makes everything that little bit quicker. It can actually access your data at an incredible speed of 20MB per second...

My Sandisk Ultra II 4GB

Advantages: Fast, Cheap
Disadvantages: Lack of backwards compatability

...I bought the Sandisk Ultra II 4GB card after purchasing my new 14.6mp camera, which produces RAW files of around 12-14mb! I clearly needed an upgrade because my older 2GB SD cards could only store 70 photos. I wanted a card that would combine speed, capacity, and value for money - and so I landed at the Class 4 Sandisk SDHC Ultra II 4GB card. I've had experience with Sandisk before, and wanted to stick with them especially after I found out that this card has a lifetime limited warranty, and has been tested to be compatible with a large range of high-end digital cameras. The Sandisk Ultra II SDHC 4GB card (Which I will now refer to as "The card" to save any confusion), has read speeds of 10mb/sec, and write speeds of 9mb/sec, producing an excellent performance on my camera. Previously when I used my older 2GB card, I didnt have...

Sandisk 8GB micro SD card

Advantages: Large memory capacity, durable for its size, very reliable
Disadvantages: None really apart from it being quite small

...The Sandisk Micro-SDHC Secure Digital 8192 MB (8 GB) memory card is known as an SD micro card, basically because SD memory cards are the smallest you can currently purchase. It measures in at 15mm x 11mm and comes with an adapter when you purchase the card. The Micro SD card format is used mainly for mobile phones, because of the sheer size and the cards ability to hold huge amounts of data. Although, mainly built for mobile phone use, SD micro cards like the Sandisk Micro SD 8 GB can be used in devices such as hand-held GPS devices, portable audio players, video game consoles and numerous other devices. With the 8 GB of storage space, you can hold thousands of songs (approximately 2000), thousands of photos as well as hundreds of videos and other files. When you purchase the 8GB SD micro memory card you get an adapter with it...

Who Says Size Matters?

Advantages: Large capacity, portable, small, easy to use and set up.
Disadvantages: Small (can be easily lost if you don't keep it in device).

...an issue for a small percentage of people using these cards. This is a class 4 card which relates to the minimum sustained write speed of the card, or in layman's terms, how quickly (or slowly) your files transfer to and from the card, and how quickly they are able to be read by whatever device you use with your Micro SD HC (high capacity) card. As you can see below, Class 4 equates to 4MB of data per second; and as you'd expect, class 6 cards cost a little bit more than class 4. Class 2: 2 MB/s; Class 4: 4 MB/s; Class 6: 6MB/s Transferring files to the card from your computer once you have it plugged in is very simple, the operating system recognises it straight away without having to install any drivers and it just shows up as an extra storage device on your 'My Computer' section to which you can then open and copy files and folders...

512MB: Saved Moments

Advantages: good space, not too pricey
Disadvantages: -

...I love photography and have always had a digital camera since they have been out because there is nothing better to me than the memories of a good time. I love to take a lot of photos and used to have a Kodak memory card but even at 106 pictures this didn't seem like enough anymore as I want to travel a lot next year and seem to be taking lots of photos at once and on nights out can take up to 70 easily. This is when I started to think that I may want a newer memory card and I have also noticed they're not even really that expensive anymore. I have the Kodak Z650 which I have reviewed in the past and the internal memory is roughly anything between 15-30 images which is very poor for a camera like that but I'm guessing they assume you'll buy a memory card. I was looking around at different sizes of memory cards and looked at other...

An accidental bonus

Advantages: Versatility, capacity, sise, reliability
Disadvantages: Doesn't work with my SD card reader

...I originally bought the SanDisk 8GB micro SDHC card for my Samsung SGH-G600 phone, not having read in the user manual that the maximum capacity card it could accommodate is 2GB. Don't get me wrong, it did work in the phone but it showed a capacity of 1GB and would not allow any ineteraction with the Samsung PC Studio software. Being somewhat disgruntled that I had wasted my money, the card lay in a drawer unused for about six months until one day, whilst rummaging through my various electronic bits-and-bobs, I found the I had a micro SD adapter. At this point a bulb appeared above my head and I wondered if the micro SDHC card (in the adapter) might work in my Fuji FunePix S1000 camera. Eureka, it did! Until this point I had been restricted to taking around a hundred photos in any outing with a 512MB XD card (I like to take them...

SanDisk SecureDigital Ultra II 512 MB

Advantages: Fast
Disadvantages: Only 512MB (?)

...I bought this (in Staples in the US) to work with my JVC GZ-MC200 camcorder - check my other reviews to see if I've got round to reviewing that too - and although there's not much to say about a memory card, I thought I'd have a go... Of course, there's no real "installation" to worry about, just take it out of the packet (opening the packaging was probably the hardest part !) and slot it in ! With the camcorder (it also takes stills) set on 1600 x 1200 pixel images and "Fine" qualitty, it tells me that I can take 572 pictures (966 on "Standard" setting") with an empty card, so I'm pretty confident that I'll never run out of space for photos ! This "Ultra" version has a claimed minimum of 10MB/second sequential read speed for ultra-fast image viewing and data transfer, and a minimum 9MB/second sequential write speed. Of course...
