Dirty alloys ,Not no more with wonder wheels

Advantages: Easy to use,Alloys look like new,removes brake dust quick
Disadvantages: could of provided glothes

...I used to dread cleaning my car because cleaning the alloy wheels seamed to take all day,I used to have multi spoked alloys and getting in between the spokes to remove brake dust,tar and built up grime was a right pain in the back side. I had tryed all them other products such as sprays and foams that you apply ,leave for a minute or two then wash off ,They removed some of the dust and grime but still left some on the alloy even after re-applying a couple of times. So i thought i will get some proffesional help so i popped down to my local car accessory shop and asked for some advice, The sales assistant was very helpful and recomended i try this product called wonder wheels it cost £7.99 and was in a silver coloured box with pictures of examples of alloys before and after So when i got home i had a quick look at the box...

Kahn Wheels Rock!!

Advantages: Durability, large range of styles to choose from
Disadvantages: Some styles are disproportionately expensive

...I have spent many hours researching different styles and makes of alloy wheels. However when I spot a design that I like I will often find that it is a Kahn design. There are many designs available and all are different from each other, (something which is lacking in some alloy wheel ranges). The build quality is fantastic, and the finish is such that the wheels are easy to clean and repel break dust incredibly well. I have a set of 17" Kahns, but I have seen sets of 22" Kahns on Range Rovers and Porsche Cayennes and they really suit the expensive motors! The materials used provide a low unsprung weight that has improved the handling of my car. This is without the addition of koni dampers and springs! ADVICE: if you need a set of wheels then take a look at Kahn for (mostly) decent prices and...

Wonder Wheels, wonderful stuff

Disadvantages: nippy on skin, too expensive at Halfords (read review)

...I have used this stuff for ages, cleans the wheels no problem. Brake dust just disappears, I never leave it on for a long time, basically, a quick brush on, agitate the solution on the rims, then hose off with cold water. Always either wear gloves, or have a sponge in a bucket of water close by, if this gets on your skin it gets pretty itchy, pretty quick!! I have never had a problem with the paint lifting off the rims, basically, if you are reasonably careful you will be fine. I had a set of 100+ alloys on my old Alfa 155, the wheels had gotten filthy with brake dust and there were chips on the rims, they came up really well. PS, if you get it from Costco, you get a gallon for a couple of quid more than 500ml from Halfords, 9 times the volume for 1/5 extra cost...

...about a month ago at my local Motorworld retailer, I specifically asked for a cleaner recommended for the purpose of cleaning alloy wheels. I have recently had some alloys fitted and wanted to keep them pristine - so I was determined to get the most effective cleaner I could. The assistant recommended this and trying not to sound like a total peasant, I asked if there was anything cheaper - I quickly retracted this last remark when he handed me what I can only descibe as a budget affair which looked like a cheap window cleaning spray...
