So while in Sainsbury?s with the mother I slipped a box of ?Clean and Clear Advantage Quick Clear Spot Treatment Gel? ? which is rather a mouthful ? the box cost between £3-4, but as I had cleverly planned my purchase I didn?t actually pay? To be honest I didn?t hold that much hope for the gel. I have used a couple of other gels in my time and I haven?t had all that much success with them, but I was willing to give it a go, especially as it promised results in as little as 4 hours! So when I got home I gave it a go. I bought it because the product I wanted to buy (a Biore product priced at £4.98 for 140ml) was unavailable, and this seemed like a reasonably priced alternative. Also, Clean & Clear is a well-known brand made by the giant Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical company. The scrub comes in a blue tube that stands on a purple flip-top cap. The blue is graduated from dark at the top through to a lighter blue at the bottom, where the message "with natural jojoba beads to lift away dirt and oil and help clear blackheads" is displayed. Now, I don't know about you, but whenever I hear the word "jojoba" I think of the Billy Connolly sketch about shampoos, but there is actually a good reason for it being in skincare products.
