Bempton Cliffs, East Yorkshire
Advantages: A lovely natural wonder, lots of wildlife
Disadvantages: Not fully accessible for disabled visitors, admission charges
...Isles.
I have been coming to Bempton Cliffs since I was a young child and I usually manage to visit here at least once every year. Even now as an adult I am still in awe at the natural wonder of this place. Access to the shoreline here is difficult so if you are wanting to view these cliffs from below then it is necessary to book one of the regular boat trips from Bridlington.
On the top of the cliff there is the small village of Bempton, which seems to edge perilously closer to this rapidly eroding coast each time that I come here and there is also a small railway station. About 200 metres away from the railway station in the direction of the sea there is a car park and visitors centre.
This visitor centre is owned by the RSPB and this is where non members have to pay their entrance fee to visit the reserve. Entry for RSPB members...

The Leas Cliff Hall
Advantages: Lots of shows to choose from, excellent security
Disadvantages: None
...I have been to the Leas Cliff Hall on several occasions to watch bands such as Embrace and Pink Floyd tribute bands. I have also attended the musical Fame at this location.
The Leas Cliff Hall
There is one main arena at the Leas Cliff Hall and this consists of a large stage, with an open hall area in front on it. At the back of the hall, there are stairs which lead to upper stalls although the seating is fairly limited with only two rows all the way round.
During the concerts that I have attended, there have been no seats laid out and visitors are left to stand in the large open hall area where they can view the band on stage. The only seating available is the higher seating around the outside of the hall.
When I attended the musical Fame, the Leas Cliff Hall had been laid out in a completely different style. Rows of seats had been...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Calling all Cliff Richard Fans.
Advantages: lovely christmassy songs
Disadvantages: he has re mixed a lot of them
...Mum has always been interested in Cliff since I can remember and we were brought up on how in the 60s she would wear her cardigan back to front as a low backless top as they could not afford a proper one.
A few years ago my mums dream came true and she went to see Cliff in his musical. They had really posh seat and my step father was not impressed when mum all of sudden turned into a school girl of the 60s and started to scream and shout. Mum always said it was her dream come true and does not know what over come her, but we all have dreams and crushes as kids and parents still have them too.
Well what better Christmas Present could I get her other than Cliff at Christmas. I bought this today from good old Woolworths together with 3 other different cds for Christmas presents and currently they have a buy one get the other half...

Treak Cliff Cavern In The Peak District!
Advantages: Fantastic Experience
Disadvantages: Not Easily Accessible, Expensive
...Treak Cliff Cavern can be found on the fringe of Derbyshire's Peak District town of Castleton. Cutting deep into the limestone hillside this is actually one of four different Cave systems that penetrate this impressive landscape. This landscape and the Caves were formed between 350 and 300 million years ago when this whole area was submerged under the sea.
Treak Cliff Cavern is perhaps the least known of Castleton's Caves, although it still attracts many thousands of visitors each year. This may have something to do with the fact that it is the least accessible and it is also much smaller than Peak Cavern, the largest Cave here and the Blue John Cavern. Castleton's other Cave, Speedwell Cavern benefits from having an entrance directly next to the road and also has the added appeal of being flooded by water, meaning that a trip into...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Haven's Devon Cliffs - Not worth the money
Advantages: pools, adventure golf, good choice of food
Disadvantages: disgusting beach, too far from decent seaside town, accomomadation, too hilly
...For the last 3 years we have been to a Haven site, the previous 2 years we went to Golden Sands in Mablethorpe and thoroughly enjoyed it so this year we thought we would try somewhere different. As Devon Cliffs is Havens "flagship park" we thought we would try it. It looked spectacular in the brochure and we were really looking forward to it. What a disappointment! The park itself is far too big, too many caravans for the size of the entertainment complex. The pools were excellent however although the outdoor pools are so much smaller than they look on the website although the lockers cost you a £1 which is non refundable so if you leave something in the locker it will cost you another £1. The beach was absolutely disgusting, We are very much a beach family and there is no way on this earth we would use the beach on the site. It was...

Young Apprentice?
Advantages: Great experience of working world/business.
Disadvantages: None whatsoever
...The next Alan Suger junior? Tired of being told you are too young to get on in Business? Well not any more!!!
So what is 'Young Enterprise' all about?
---------------------------------------------------------
It is a charity that has been in place for over 40 years now and it is the UK's leading business and enterprise education charity - it is split into 12 regions over the UK and each region holds election to deliver its board.
So why the hell is this relevant to me?
----------------------------------------------------
Ok, so it is quite a few years since my college days but a real fond memory of them was taking part in the 'Young Enterprise' scheme in which students are in effect given opportunity to trade as a company, with the potential to show their entrepreneurial skills, develop new products and work as part...

Young Finds Love
Advantages: Excellent collection of songs, slicker production than previous albums
Disadvantages: None
...For me this is one of Neil Young's best recordings, if not his best recording. Neil Young is an acclaimed singer songwriter in the folk/ country/ rock medium and has a career spanning 40 years. This record was recorded in 1970 and is a slight departure for Young as it is on the whole a sentimental and ballad ladened album. This is not to undersell it as these are also some of the strongest songs that Young has written, especially the title track with it's imaginative and dreamlike lyrics. This at the time was a real departure for Young and the song was very symptomatic of the times.
The album is not all balladry though, although most of it's strongest cuts fall within this. The main exception to this rule would be 'Southern Man' where Young gets to grips with a real rollicking and rocking protest song. it's lyrically potent...
