3 steps to perfect skin!
Advantages: You do get perfect skin
Disadvantages: Skin can dry out if used too much.
...-OVERVIEW-
Clinique Liquid Facial Soap is step 1 in the clinique "3 step skin care system". It's availabe in formulas for all skin types; Very dry to dry, dry combination, oily combination, oily, mild, and now extra mild aswell.
The formula being reviewed is the oily skin formula.
The liquid soap cleanses and prepares the skin for steps 2 and 3, which are exfoliating/toning, and moisturising.
As with all Clinique products, the facial soap too, is 100% fragrance free, and allergy tested. The allergy testing methods used by clinique are extensive and one of the companys' main selling points.
Every formula is applied 12 times to 600 people under clinical guidlines, and if even one of those applications incites an allergic reaction, clinique reformulate the product. So this product is great for anyone with sensitive skins...

PLEASE READ! Clinique facial soap does help
Advantages: Cleans face without drying and lasts for ages
Disadvantages: none
...Well clinique describe this product as having all the benefits of Clinique's facial soap in a liquid formula. It is supposed to prep skin for exfoliating without drying the skin and it comes in 3 different strenghts, these are - extra mild, mild and oily and you choose the one which is best suited to your skin type which can either be dry, a combination of oily and dry or very oily, the bottle has a convenient pump that dispenses just the right amount each time you use it .
I have found all this information to be completely true unlike some products that i have tried in the past which tend to bend the truth a bit to sell there products for eg. clearasil who say that your spots will start to go in just 3 days of using there products is a complete lie anyway back to clinique, the product is fragrance free which is good as you can...

I'm a Clinique Convert
Advantages: Clean, fresh, clear skin
Disadvantages: None
...Having tried a few Clinique products and being left disappointed that they didn?t work as well as I?d expected, I?ve always avoided, despite many attempts by several friends to ?convert? me, trying the Clinique 3 Step System. I finally gave in however, when one of said friends bought me a 3 Step Gift Set for Christmas. She knows I have oily/spot prone skin, and so she got me the set for skin types 3 and 4, which is for normal to oily/oily skin. The 3 Step System, for anyone who doesn?t know consists of, you guessed it, 3 steps, as follows: Step 1: Cleanse (Facial Soap or Liquid Facial Soap), Step 2 : Tone (Clarifying Lotion), Step 3 : Moisturise (Moisturising Lotion or Gel). My step 1 is the Liquid Facial Soap Oily Skin Formula.
Clinique?s Liquid Facial Soap is priced at £13 for a 200ml bottle, or £15 for 3 50ml tubes which would be...

Soap IS good for your face!
Advantages: Dermatologically recommended
Disadvantages: None although some may find it expensive
...fit 3 step skin care system, of which the newly launched Liquid Facial Soap is a part along with their exfoliate and clarifying lotion and dramatically different moisturising lotion.
What it does
Removes facial dirt and oil while working to loosen surface flakes without "stripping" your face in the way some cleansers do. Ideally, you will use this as part of the three step skin care treatment outlined above, although I use it on its own (bad girl!)
You can choose a soap to fit your skin type - Very Dry to Dry, Dry to Combination and Combination Oily to Oily skin. As I have combination skin with some dry patches around the nose and jawline, I use the Dry to Combination soap.
It is worth mentioning that Clinique also do a facial soap bar which claims not to ever dry. I haven't tried this so cannot venture an opinion in this instance...

Clean Skin!
Advantages: Doesn't dry out skin
Disadvantages: A little expensive
...I bought this Clinique liquid facial soap after I was given some Boots vouchers for Christmas. I decided to go for the 'mild' version of the soap since it was suitable for dry combination skin. This was really good for me, since I sometimes find that when I use soaps or face washes that my skin feels quite dry and flaky afterwards, as my skin can dry out quite easily. I didn't find that after using this face wash so I was really pleased.
The soap is available to buy in sets of 3 x 50ml sizes, so they are easy to carry around and good if you wanted to take them on holidays. The set of 3 x 50ml tubes costs £15 (these do work out more expensive but I guess they could be quite handy!) It also comes in a 200ml size for £13 and a 'jumbo' size for £20, which is a 400ml bottle.
The Clinique liquid facial soap is widely available online but...

Care for your skin!
Advantages: Skin feels really clean
Disadvantages: A little drying
...Selfridges, Debanhams and even Boots, where helpful staff will help you pick out the Clinique products that suit your skin. They will ask you a few questions to decided your skin type based on its colour, how easily you tan, how large your pores are, and how oily your skin is.
The liquid facial soap is the first step of the 3 step skincare system which also includes the clarifyin lotion and dramatically different moisturiser. There are different 'numbers' of these products based on your decided skin type. You can get facial soap for dry, oily, or combination skin. I tried the combination 'type 2' soap.
PACKAGING
It comes in a very sleek and simple green pump dispenser 200ml bottle. It has the silver clinique logo and various details such as the type of skin it is designed for in several different languages. I really love the packaging, it...

If your skins oily enough to fry chips in.....
Advantages: Sweeps away anything the cleanser missed
Disadvantages: Stings, and dries out the skin.
...Clinique Clarifying Lotion for oily skin is Step 2 of the "3 step skin care system" by clinique.
Clarifying lotion for oily skin is in an opaque dusky pink bottle, with a pistachio green screw cap. It carries the distinct clinique logo in silver print.
All clarifying lotions by clinique, are toning exfoliators, which lift away dead surface skin cells to make the complexion smoother.
This is step 2, as step 1 gets rid of dirt, oil and debris from the skin, and step 2, the clarifying lotion gets rid of the more stubborn dead skin, and any junk which the cleanser couldn't get rid off.
The oily skin formula has astringent properties, and it has a much stronger formula for getting rid of the extra oil on the skins surface.
It's clear that the clarifying lotion does work, because when using a clear cotton pad, you can actually...

The first I've heard of face soap!
Advantages: Actually work to reduce oil, compact
Disadvantages: Not good on all skins, part of a routine (althoough you do get used to it)
...My experience with the Clinique Facial Soap was an eye opener! When you first think of cleaning your face with soap, (well myself at least) I was actually quite negative as normal soaps can dry your skin and alter the natural production of oils within the face, therefore not seeming te best option. However the lady at the Clinque counter was quick to intervene.
Who is it recommended for?
*******************************
The Facial Soap is recommended for those with oily skin, whether this is combination (the forehead, nose and chin areas) or the whole face. The aim as with most other products for this skin type is to regulate the production of oils, not to dry the skin! You may be pleased to find out that in fact having oily skin can be an advantage when growing older, as oiler skins age slower due to the nature of the oils...

Strips away all the skin natural moisture
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Lacks in mildness, too harsh, dehydrates skin....
...I can't understand why so many people think that soap is a good thing to the skin.... Isn't that obvious that the soap dries the skin out? Isn't that clear?
But please let me tell you my experience with this product. I used the three step system for a short time but It was long enough to harm my healthy skin. Firstly I might say that this facial soap dries the skin really bad... My combination skin used to feel itchy and dry when washed with this. I realised that the soap was dehydrating my skin so much...
So this is an agressive facial soap that I won't recomend, but the fact is that the clarifying lotion is even worst...
Does the skin feel clean? Yes, but a cheap supermarket facial soap would clean your face that much... Because this is not THE facial soap, this is ONE MORE facial soap that LACKS IN MILDNESS AND IN...

Not one for sensitive skins!
Advantages: Might be a good cleanser for non-sensitive skin, did seem to get rid of a few spots
Disadvantages: Gave me a bit of rash
...About Clinique
I really like Clinique. Clinique boasts all of their products are allergy tested, and 100% fragrance free. I use several products by the range.
On a daily basis :
1.) Clinique Blended Face Powder.
( I have written a review on this product)
2.) Clinique Oil Free Daily Face Protector SPF 15.
3.) Clinique Superbalm Tinted Treatment.
Occasionally:
1.) some sort of Clinique eye gel (sample)
2.) Clinique Daily Renewal Cream. (sample)
3.) Clinique Oil Free Daily Face Protector in Golden Dore SPF 15
None of these products have ever irritated my skin, and some of them are really good.
Anyway, moving on.
You've probably all heard of Clinique 3-Step System. It's widely advertised as one of Clinique's best sellers, and consists of a facial soap, toner and moisturiser which is meant to leave skin clear...
