...Since the time I was born I have had very dry skin; as a child I used Hydrocortisone cream which only ever soothed the itching and flaking for a while and then caused the dryness to flare up again, with the added bonus of making my skin hyper sensitive. It wasn't until I became an image obsessed, self absorbed, love hungry teenager that it actually began to bother me (turning up to high school with dry skin peeling off your face is not the ticket to popularity, apparently). Along with super dryness I also managed to get the few spots, which eventually turned into more than a few spots... Established in 1968, these are cosmetics so posh that they have to be sold by scarily immaculate women in clinical white outfits stationed on special counters in Boots and department stores rather than off the shelf like most brands - and they have price tags to match. Anybody who knows me may well be wondering what someone as cheap as me is doing with such top of the range toiletries. How exactly can I afford to indulge in the legendary "3 Step System" that Clinique purvey? ...and minimises shine. They also have a line called Anti-Blemish solutions. The Back and Chest spray (£13.00) really does clear up those pesky spots. So how expensive is Clinique? The face powder mentioned is £16.50, the new ?Gloss wear for lips? are £9.50, shampoo is £8.00, and facial soap is £8.50. There are so many products so you will probably find it easier to look on the website. Is it worth it? I think so yes. I have limited use of their skin care system. People with sensitive skin may find their skin gets irritated. The products are of a high quality and come in nice packaging that can be recycled. Image: In part you are paying somewhat to the image. Last spring, I decided to indulge in a pampering skincare routine, and visited my local perfumerie to find out what would make my skin turn to peaches and cream (I hoped overnight). All their products are allergy tested and 100% fragrance free (apart from the perfumes, of course), and are incredibly beneficial for sensitive skins. Clinique's range begins with the basic 3 step skin care program: Facial soap, clarifying lotion and then the spectacular dramatically different moisturizing lotion.
