Advantages: Good performances, excellent wit, balances drama and comedy. Disadvantages: Largely cliched, nothing orginal, bland.
...I'm a long time fan of Kevin Smith and his productions, despite their flaws. The majority of his work is hardly groundbreaking cinema, but it is incredibly entertaining. Obviously this led to some curiosity when it came to Jersey Girl, even moreso after the announcement that it would be nothing like his previous films. The idea behind Jersey Girl was to shift away from the low-brow humor of the View Askew universe and make something that appealed to a wider audience. To many people, this instantly set off alarm bells with the fans claiming he had sold out by "going mainstream". Personally this didn't really bother me, I was just curious to see what he came up with.
So was the experiment a success? Both yes and no actually. Smith has created an entertaining, if flawed, romantic comedy that can appeal to mainstream audiences...

...I read a few reviews on 27 dresses saying that it is an average film or it is a good film. When I saw the DVD in Tesco for a few pounds (2-3 as I remember) so I decided to buy it and give it a go. I wasn?t expected a drama I knew it will be a chick flick so I just enjoyed the development of the film.
27 Dresses is a romantic comedy directed by Anne Fletcher (Step Up, The Proposal). The screenplay was written by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada). The film was released in January 2008. The running time is 111 minutes and the classification is 12 years and older.

Advantages: very cool and exciting same time, beaches, people Disadvantages: expensive, not recommended for non european
...place due to its location but I am not much interested in that so dont know much. Only knows that even though it is near by France it is part of UK and during world war 2 Germans had ruled this island for five years. Many castle and bunker points are there on outskirts of it.
Area:
It is 45 sq mile, 9 mile by 5 mile length and width respectively, but dont imagine as small place as it is seen from area. St. Helier is capital city located in south and there are other 12 parishes.
Language and Currency:
Main and official language is English. Jerriars is local language while many people speak French also. I learned some basic french from Alliance Francis, St Helier as most of street names are in french.
UK Pound is acceptable here but it has own Jersey pound which is equivalent to UK Pound. Jersey pounds are not...

Advantages: Amusing, Great Comedy Disadvantages: Smith Fans expecting another stoner romp will be peeved
..."It's that kind of mentality that allows the cancer-producing industry to survive. Of course we're all going to die someday, but do we have to pay for it? Do we actually have to throw hard-earned dollars on the counter and say, "Please, Mr. Merchant of Death, sir, please, sell me something that will stink up my breath and my clothes and fry my lungs?"
Those words are among the cleanest lines you'll find in Kevin Smith's Clerks. A $25,000 black and white indie that shot the writer/director to cult fame and fortune. A spate of other films followed including Mallrats, Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. All were pretty adult in their comedy and all have a cult audience.
So what happens when the indie guy decides to go mainstream? Well in Kevin Smith's case it's Jersey Girl. Will the fans of Star Wars monologues, jokes about weed...

...27 Dresses is a 2008 romantic comedy, starring Katherine Heigl and James Marsden, and was directed by Anne Fletcher. Jane has always been the bridesmaid and never the bride, she?s obsessed with weddings and has in fact been a bridesmaid 27 times, hence the title of the film. When she?s attending two different weddings on the same night, she bumps into Kevin, a cynic who manages to write the most romantic weddings at the same time. At the same time, she?s hopelessly in love with her boss, then her sister arrives back in town and somehow is engaged to her boss within the month. Jane is shocked, how will she ever win over George now? And how will things go with Kevin? What will her 28th dress be?
The cast is good, but nothing special. Katherine Heigl plays Jane, the main character in the film who?s looking for love but finds it somewhere...

JERSEY WAR TUNNELS

This is a section of tunnels dug out by prisoners of war for the Germans. I have written a separate review on this, so will not go into too much detail here, but it cost us £9.30 each to get in and is well worth a visit as it covers the Occupation of Jersey by the Germans in World War 2. It is very atmospherice, eerie and must be seen. An amazing experience.

...A little bit of background here - Jersey is the largest of the Channel Isles, 9 miles wide and 5 miles long. The town centre of St Helier is the busiest, most heavily populated area on the Island. The Island as a whole boasts the best Sunshine rates in the UK!
Jersey Airport was originally located on a beach, although I cannot recall which beach from memory. In 1937, the new Aiport was opened at the St Peter site.
Anyway, I digress. Jersey Airport is a small to medium sized airport, with all the features you might expect. There's a cafe, a shop, duty free sales (at the depatrures lounge), a raised viewing area which gives great views of the runway, and comfortable seating. The airport is laid out in a very spacious, well thought out way, encompassing large seating areas with plenty of room to walk by. As you enter the airport...

...I recently saw 27 dresses at the cinema and thought it was a really good movie. It's the best movie I've seen in a long time. When I first saw the adverts for it , and read the reviews in magazines , I knew it would be a good film. I was glad I was right too , because my predictions of the last movie I'd seen , St Trinians was wrong - I thought it looked good , but it turned out to be an awful film in my opinion. However I am not here to review St Trinians , I am here to review 27 dresses. So here we go....
