...For years I shopped at Sainsburys merely for food and perhaps the odd magazine. I used their cafe and occasionally picked up a CD. My local store was large and spacious but stocked little in the way of non-food items. Eventually times got a little tighter and I stopped visiting - I became an Asda aficionado, loving in particular my weekly amble around the George clothing range and trying not to buy. Ooh it was tempting however! I then moved to Edinburgh from London and started to visit Sainsburys again and was intrigued to see Sainsburys sold clothes - and over the years Sainsburys TU clothing line has hooked me in. ...in Asda is fairly priced in my opinion and the Asda own brand food tastes as good as the more expensive brands. I do occasionly buy Smart Price items too, especially the frozen veg and yorkshire as these are much cheaper than the leading brands but taste just as good. Even if I fancy a change and shop elsewhere I will still pop into Asda to pick up a few bit's generally because I know they are cheaper in Asda. You can save for christmas on an Asda savings card which I think is an excellent idea, better than the stamps in Tesco simply because the Asda card is simply just that a credit card sized card that can be kept in your purse at all times. ...Primark is one of the greatest shops that i find that every time i go in there you can guarantee that i will come out having brought something. When you go into Primark you are guaranteed that you will always find a bargain and at the fraction of the cost of any other shops. The baby shop

Advantages: Everything for baby and mum-to-be, exceptional quality products, helpful staff
Disadvantages: Can cost more than other shops

...on selling products relating to babies and children there's everything here from maternity clothing to prams and toys. The maternity clothes are extremely well made and as fashionable as it's possible to get when there's a bump to consider. Although kitting yourself out with clothes from here can make a huge dent in your pocket, they are far more comfortable to wear than tracksuit bottoms. And these clothes are also an investment, I previously had several outfits from here that lasted through not one or two but three pregnancies and were still in good enough condition to be passed on to a pregnant friend. I had a pair of dungarees that were so comfortable that towards the end of pregnancy I virtually lived in them, washing them each night ready to wear the next day, and even with this extensive washing they still looked as good as when I bought...

At £3 a pop, it's not such a great concern if they don't last very long, nor is it a worry for fashion followers who want to keep up with the latest trends. Primark is so affordable that entire outfits can be bought for less than half the price of highstreet stores. It has challenged other places to justify their prices and, I imagine, has posed quite a threat to a number of more expensive places. THE DISADVANTAGES This may be a big shop with plenty of variety, but it has got a little too big for its boots. There are too many customers and too few staff. ASDA, THE ONLY TRUE ONE STOP SHOP?

Advantages: Vast Range of Products. Value For Money. Some Stunning (Non-Food) Bargains. George Clothes. Fewer "Trick" Offers.

All my shopping needs on one site?

Advantages: Convenience, Long Opening Hours, Petrol on site
Disadvantages: Not the cheapest, Out Of Town.
