...When I think of things made by Jacobs the image that comes into my mind is of cream crackers covered in a lovely soft cheese. But Jacobs also make a range of biscuits as well. These included the club bar which I have had this week. I remember having these in my lunch box when I was at school. I have taken one of these to work with me everyday this week. In Tescos last week these Jacobs clubs were on a special offer. But one pack and get another pack for free.They cost around £1.30 each. The clubs come in packs of 7 and each club bar is individually wrapped. They do come in other flavours as well, but I brought the Orange ones which I am reviewing today. The packet is very simple, it is orange and has CLUB written across the middle. Each bar is about 7cms long. On opening the wrapper you can immediately smell the orange flavour...

The Ace of Clubs

Advantages: Not too big for a quick cuppa
Disadvantages: there are no disadvantages with biscuits

...There are times though not very often when I just want a smallish chocolate biscuit to have with my coffee, be it for normal consumption or my passion with dunking. Of course there are many biscuits which could meet this criteria, so I had to expand on my initial set of necessities. Apart from biscuit and chocolate they had although small to be quite substantial. This expansion theory failed drastically since the choice did not diminish significantly enough. So in the end I simply done what many shoppers do and picked one that looked nice in it's packet. This packet had purple and white as it's theme and little picture of choccie biscuits with fruit. WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN MY CLUB?

...If you like a lot of chocolate on your biscuit “ Join our club” Who remembers that advert? I was sitting here at the computer and I was desperate for something really nice to eat. I went downstairs to the kitchen to see what we had and at the back of the cupboard I found a packet of CLUB fruit biscuits. For some reason, they are called fruit bars for this opinion on ciao. If I remember correctly they were just under £1 per packet and I got them BOGOF Jacobs make them and there are a lot of different flavours. I personally love the mint ones best but that’s another opinion. As I said these were the fruit ones and come in the usual club pack but I got a bargain, as there were seven in this pack. There used to be only six years ago. Or was it five? The wrappers are different colours for different flavours...

The Mighty Mars Bar

Advantages: Classic chocolate bar
Disadvantages: They changed the nougat filling

...This is perhaps the most classic chocolate bar from my childhood. It has long been my favourite as a kid and I sort of have to say it still is so as not to feel as if I have disowned it (sorry Mars Bar but I have found other favourites - I still love you though!). 'A Mars a day helps you work rest and play' - this was the little catchphrase that was associated with Mars Bar. Funny really; it's like saying a chocolate bar a day is good for you. The slogan has now changed to 'Pleasure you can't measure' which definitely seems more appropriate. A standard Mars bar comes at 58g, about 11cm long and 1.8cm high. You'll pay about 32p for this bar in supermarkets which is well below the norm of 50p. They used to be more expensive but in recent years, the classic nougat and caramel filling has obviously lost its appeal as new and more...

I hadn,t had them for ages when i saw them in tesco, i chose the orange clubs. ~ The price ~ 98p pack of 8 ~ Packaging ~ This is orange with club wrote on the front in big letters and a picture of oranges. Inside that wrapper are 8 individually wrapped clubs, chocolate bars they are about 8cm long and 2wide. Again the wrapper is orange with club wrte on it and a picture of oranges , there are two wrappers, the top one is like a sleeve you can push the chocolate bar out the one end or the other . ...Club was a personal fav of mine when I was a little nipper. During the good old days I can remember taking these to school and munching away on them and thinking that I would never ever say they were cack. I wonder when it was when ...... Hang about this isnt the chocolate flavour or the mint flavour op. Silly me good old ciao are running behind in getting a category up for them flavours, even though they remembered to put it up for this flavour. They should give us consumers more of an easier chance to post a new category because I know I could get many more categories up for us choc fans. ...I bought a pack of these as it was 100% extra - 16 bars for the price of 8 and the fact that I thought they would be a treat for my daughter in her lunch box. She sometimes moans that she has too much fruit! I can't remember how much I paid for them, I could guess but I won't bother as I could be way out.
