...This was my another Club Med experience.... I was advice to go to this place by London`s Club Med Agent Bon Voyage http://www.holiday-discounts.org I was adviced to go to Club Med for my single holidays. It exceeded my expectations of an all inclusive resort. It was a great value for the week ; Club Med fantastic location; clean, uncluttered beach; excellent after dinner entertainment; generally friendly and helpful staff; good mix of travelers. Everything is taken care of and included and nothing is compulsory. Will probably go back to Club Med to take full advantage of all the sports activities they offer. Placebo - Meds (CD)

Advantages: the song - 'Because I want you'. and a collaboration with Michael Stipe (R.E.M)
Disadvantages: Some really boring songs.

...Meds marks the return, or the 'comeback' if you like of these grungy funky trio, otherwise known as Placebo. Fronted by Brian Molko. This features a brand new collection of tortured tunes, doing what they do best, their first full stucio album in three years. Although i feel their showcasing much more of a paied-down sound, the band seemed to have redirected their focus back to the raw rock of their earlier days. I especially like one of their 'ballad' types - 'Broken Promise' - which features R.E.M's Michael Stipe, which conveys the haunting atmosphere the band seem to have set out to conjure. Meds was made with French producer Dimitri Tikovoi (Trash Palace), who made the band strip back their sound, doing away with studio trickery and taking Placebo back to their early indie-rock roots. 1. Have you taken your Meds?

Advantages: A few new killer anthems!
Disadvantages: Some of the songs lack much needed magic!

...It's no secret that I'm a massive Placebo fan. After first hearing the striking guitar riffs and solid drum beats from 'The Bitter End' I was instantly hooked. After buying the brilliant 'Sleeping With Ghosts', I ventured onto their older records and found that, although all of them were amazing, I was the most taken with 'Without You I'm Nothing', a blend of sordid ballads and haunted memories, it was described as the 'difficult' second album by the alternative heroes. Clio Club Med

Advantages: Economical, small and nippy
Disadvantages: No power steering, acceleration's not great

...I bought a new Club Med Clio 3 and a half years ago and i'm pretty happy with it. it's very economical on fuel, particularly good now the prices are so high, and very reliable. i've done 45,000 miles and have only had new front tyres and the back part of the exhaust replaced. I'm not so happy with renault garages however - i had a petrol leak for 9 months during which time i took it to the same renault garage 3 times without them finding anything. when i took it to another garage they found it immediately. they also charge a fortune for servicing and seem to need the car for most of the day....

It will have you wanting to go back

Advantages: "Fully inclusive holiday", most activites, all food and drinks (with meal) are included. French language. Crazy Signs!

Placebo - Meds

Advantages: Another magnificent effort from Placebo.
Disadvantages: Some of the tracks lose the aggressiveness they had on the demos.

...For the past 10 years, Placebo have been one of the main rock bands that this country have produced. Coming off the back off Britpop, their first album included a strong, exciting set of songs on sex, drugs, and, well, more sex. Throughout the years, admittedly, they have kind of stayed on the same lines. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. They have written some of the most memorable dark pop that this country has seen, and even had a few hits in the bargain, such as 'Pure Morning' or 'Every You Every Me'. But that was then, and this is now. On their 5th studio album, they've grown up a little bit, and even if there are still drug references a-plenty, they've started writing songs about (shudder) love. Opener 'Meds' is a typical Placebo effort about the medicine cupboard, which begins with an excellent acoustic guitar riff...

...Welcome back to bad experiences, I was unlucky this time but I didnt pick it I was having a meeting in Covent Garden and the boss took us to Med Kitchen for lunch. According to the website it's a 'Mediterranean brasserie' & there are 7 sites across London. We were in the one on St Martins lane, just by Leicester square tube. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering & my boss took the initiative and simply led us round to a booth rather than waiting to be seated by the staff. Menus were placed on our tables and the manager casually pointed at the specials board rather than taking any time to talk us through it. There wasn't anything particularly complicated about the specials but it did make me take an instant dislike to him. We were trying to get some work done while we were there so none of us noticed we hadn...

I'm addicted to these meds!!!

Advantages: Some really addictive songs, near perfection throughout
Disadvantages: Let down by one dead duck of a song

...Meds is Placebo's fifth studio album, (sixth if you include their greatest hits) and I am greatly impressed, the only other album that I possess is the greatest hits and that is how I have got into listening to them but, I am told by lifelong Placebo fans that this is the best album since their breakthrough self titled album, and who am I to disagree. Meds covers many topics ranging from drug use, alcoholism, domestic violence and sexuality, this means that the lyrical scope is immense and greatly adds to the individuality this album has over others that are currently in the charts. The strengths of the album are that for one thing nearly all of the tracks are very good and are catchy which leaves you always wanting just one more listen, Placebo have essentially gone back to basics cutting out many of their experimental aspects...

It's still the same price, but they now give a voucher for a free bottle of Proseco (Italian sparkler) with your membership every year when you renew (or two for a joint membership) and you can now submit a members questionnaire every quarter for a £10 voucher. This all just makes this great scheme even better! *** This is a bit of an addicts club (could have been called 'Pizza Anonymous' I suppose) but I am a big fan of it. Now in my 5th year of continuous membership, I continue to enjoy the benefits - and the pizza - and heartily recommend it. *It works like this?* Membership is £40 per annum for one person, £80 per annum for a couple. ...E-Med.co.uk certainly is something different but is it something we should embrace or something we should stay away from. Well unlike the other reviews about this site I have used this site and as a result I think a review to clarify is in order. SIGNING UP Firstly to use e-med (other than to order Tamiflu) you must be a member of the site. This costs £20 a year which if you don't use the service is pretty much a waste of money, but at the same time if you do use a benefit from the service then the £20 is worth every penny. So once you have signed up on the site using a simple form to give your details, fill in a medical questionnaire and payment details you will be emailed by e-med to confirm your username and password which is what you will use should you ever wish to contact them by phone or email.
