Overall I would strongly recommend a trip to Marseille - unless your into night-clubbing etc - though i heard marseille has them i never saw them. Marseille would be loved by slightly older people - though when i went i was very young - (enjoyed the swimming pool and climate the most). Best place to visit is the roman theatre in Orange.
I now love the french people...

Well despite Marseille being right at the bottom of France it is still remarkably easy to get to and you do not have to rely on the plane. Firstly the obvious way to get there is by plane - British Airways, Air France and Buzz (only from Stanstead) fly there.
