...Nice looking card and very powerfull. Very noisy when fan is running at full speed. 256mb on board, will run doom3 rather well on 512mb video setting. Down side, leaving system runing with nice screensaver = lots of background noise in the room from the exhaust. Has ran at just over 70 deg c while playing for long periods, usually sits 45-50 deg c No Idea how much it cost, came with my Dell XPS gen 5 Seems to have trouble with dust collecting in the small fans of the heatsink causing overheating, card has to be removed and cleaned with vaccum cleaner. Has been replaced once under warranty by dell but I think it was a driver issue causing lock ups. Catalyst control centre has some nice features, I have my livingroom tv connected to the s-video out and can watch very good full screen films. No letterbox at all! Hope this helps... Read review

Club3D are one of the few people to have this card in AGP 8x mode (rather than the PCI-Express version, which in my opinion is a waste of money as there is practically little speed difference between AGP 8x and PCI-Express 16x single card mode.) Although Club3D are one of the few, it is only priced at... wait for it... £210. That's about £100 difference in price from the other cards and it's a more efficient & faster card. All that power requires a PSU that is rather powerfu lto handle it. a 300W PSU should be adequate, but a more powerful one should be acquired just in case there are any power problems with your PC. ...If you want a DirectX10 compatible video card and fantastic performance, the Club 3D 8800GTS 320MB is the piece of kit for you. DirectX10: Direct X 10 is Microsoft's latest in the Direct X series. It's worth noting that to use Direct X 10 you must own Windows Vista and obviously a Direct X 10 capable video card. What Direct X 10 actually means for games is that they simply look better. For the moment I don't think that Direct X 10 is a major selling point, just a nice thing to have, as there are few games that support it and performance when Direct X 10 mode is enabled is greatly decreased. Advantages: Fast Dx9 card that is bargain priced
Disadvantages: You cant play the latest games on high settings

...These are great little cards and its well known among gamers that ATI throughly thrashed Nvidia on this generation of cards for price to performance. Fully DX9 compatible the only things these cards lack for features is SM3 processing ability. It does have SM2 which is perfectly adequate and substitutable in most games. SM stands for shader model, its the part that allows for very fancy effects like the HDR lighting (High Dynamic Range rendering - sun glare effects ) you might see in Half Life 2 or Farcry and other games Features its big brother, the 9800XT has which this card does not, are a temperature sensor and 256 meg of onboard memory. Also fan control is not normally available on this model which is usefull for slowing the fan down outside of games, the fan on my card is particularly buzzy/high pitched so I have slowed...
