CoolerMaster CM690 is the master!

Advantages: Cheap, well ventilated, screw-less design

...When upgrading my computer and installed the new parts in my old case, this proved to be a bit of a silly idea as the temperatures it was running at was too high. Having largely spent out on the upgrade i wanted a fairly cheap case. The CoolerMaster CM690 looked like it was to fit the bill perfectly, its was fairly cheap approx £55, it did NOT come with power supply, which for me wasn't a problem as I'd just bought a new CoolerMaster Real Power M620 620W PSU. To start with this case looks very good and feels light when empty. It also feels sturdy and well balanced on my desk and on carpet, although a carpet with too high a pile on it could interfere with the PSU exhaust and the mounting for another fan. ...This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the very short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be able to get a cheaper version next year. Olympus E-30. Still not up there with the big boys?

Advantages: Fold out LCD screen, Image Stabilization, Zuiko lens quality, Picture quality, Flash options
Disadvantages: Noise in low light, Too many buttons, Badly laid out, Too many gimmicks

...The E-30 is Olympus's own stepping-stone between the so-called "prosumer" models (what an awful word) and the E-3 professional SLR, being loosely comparable with the likes of the Canon EOS 50D, the Nikon D90 and the Sony Alpha A-350. It shares a lot of the E-3's features and has even overtaken the E-3 in terms of resolution, offering 12mp compared with the E-3's 10. Unfortunately - or fortunately, depending on your opinion - some of its features are things that serious photographers don't really want on their cameras and definitely push the E-30 towards the hobby photographers rather than the professionals. The E-30 doesn't share the E-3's weatherproof casing, in fact it is built from a plastic/fibre-glass composite material, which helps to keep the weight down and, surprisingly to me, doesn't make it feel cheap. Kenwood CM651 - coffee maker

Advantages: great tasting coffee at a drinkable temperature
Disadvantages: looks quirky (but maybe you like that)

...Our last coffee machine (Tefal) had been part of our family for nine years - until he sadly died due to being put too close to a rather hot microwave and melted. We spent a very long time searching for a replacement product and finally decided upon the Kenwood CM651. While scouring the market we discovered many different coffee machines which were adorned with various spangaly extras such as timers and "aroma switches" but to be honest - all we wanted was a decent cup of COFFEE! THe Kenwood CM651 has a fairly basic design (which is exactly what we wanted - less to go wrong) Water is poured into the back reservoir which is easily accessable. We use the glass jug for this and discovered that it pours really cleanly without any dribbles! The Kenwoods capacity is 13 cups which is rather generous amount for such a petite design...

Disadvantages: Tweeters can be slightly delicate (so use supplied cross-overs)

...What you get: 1 x pair of 13cm fusion woofer 2 x Grills 1 x pair of fusion tweeters 2 x cross-overs Speaker wire These are the set of speakers which you get with the fusion '4 corner package' (EN-4CNR). I have installed both the woofers and tweeters into the doors of my vauxhall corsa and the sound quality compared with the old factory standard ones is by far a big improvement. I am not using the provided cross-overs purely because they are rather large and secondly my car already has cross-overs in the door. Sound Quality: Originally I had some pioneer 13cm coaxiles which I was very disapointed with as they didn't even seem to be as good as my old standard speakers.
