...unmistakable on this CD, with PULP reaching new heights of downright laconic charm. THE COVER The CD is a bit of a departure , as PULP had most of their graphic design done by Blue Source. But Jarvis takes a more hands on approach here. It certainly pays off. The inlay is full of lyrics and art for each song. Roadkill even features a remarkable picture by Mr Cocker himself. Thy band provide links to the artists as well which I thought was very cool. PULP also point out that this CD is helping donations for a sustainable forest and more shockingly the band have a dedication section... which is a rarity in PULP's case. The CD itself is covered with etchings of green leaves. All in all the whole look is far more grown up and less contrived than say 'A Different Class' Hehe Jarvis still tells you off for reading the lyrics while listening though...

...I've had the good fortune of encountering two cocker spaniels in my life. One that was not with us very long, the other running the household for the past four years. The first cocker we bought was from a dog farm somewhere near Lincoln, in which the dogs were kept in small compartments in stables. The puppy we chose had a lovely black silky coat and was, what we thought, very shy. Once we got her home it became obvious to me something was wrong- she wasn't eating, and was constantly trembling and being sick. We took her to the vets who told us she had a disease (the name of which escapes me) and she had gone into shock. She was put on a drip overnight and unfortunately didn't make it. We were told that the disease had probably spread over all the dogs, and that if the owner had recognised and responded to the symptoms of illness...

Advantages: Packed full of superb cover versions of classic songs.

Added to this curiosity value, I was also quite intrigued by names on the labels (?Cragrat?, ?175 Limited Edition?) as well as the subject of this review ? ?Cocker Hoop?.
