Cocktails & Dreams (Cocktail dvd)

Advantages: Great entertaining 80s film
Disadvantages: Flimsy plot at times

...~~~Cocktail~~~ I have to admit I love quite a few films from the 80's, probably the ones that some people think are a little bit cheesy. But I think most of them are very easy to watch with loveable characters and great soundtrack. Cocktail is one of these films that falls into this list. Released in 1988, Cocktail was thankfully not the film Tom Cruise needed to boost his career after he had already starred in Top Gun and The Colour of Money amongst others. What I love about Cocktail is purely the fact that its very entertaining and I never get bored when I sit down and watch it. Whereas the only downside is the highly predictable plot that is a bit flimsy at points. Basically Cruise (Brian Flanagan) is an ambitious young man who heads to the New York City to get an education in business management. To make ends meet he finds a job...

GOING OUT FOR COCKTAILS

Advantages: very readable
Disadvantages: none

...This was the first book that I read by Madeline Wickham who is also Sophie Kinsella. I had read all the books under Sophie first of all, and since she is 1 of my favourite authors then I sought to read all the ones under this name. To be honest I didn't find them to be as good as the Sophie ones, but this could be since I am a fan of the Shopaholic books as that is my style of book. This book is about 3 women who work together (perhaps that is why there is Cocktails for 3). The women work on a magazine and they meet up once a month outside of work to go for Cocktails and have a bit of a gossip outside of work. A little bit about the characters. Roxanne is the travel writer in the magazine. She gets to jet off to locations in order to review them. The man she is seeing is married to another woman but this doesn't seem to bother...

Review of Cocktails for Three - Madeleine Wickham

Tesco wooden cocktail sticks are very good indeed

Advantages: They are good quality and not too expensive
Disadvantages: None for me at all

...I have tried all the major shop?s brand cocktail sticks I think and I have also used Tesco?s own brand, which in my opinion, are as good as the Sainsbury?s ones or the Asada ones. These keep for years and we use them for parties and similar events for skewering the tiny cheese and pineapple and pickled onions. These lovely sticks seem to be very durable and they are pointed at each end, just like the ones form Asda and Sainsbury?s are. We have used these on the barbeque before and have found that they have singed a little bit but when I dampen them down beforehand this doesn?t happen and they are fine. These lovely little cocktail sticks cost me only 40p, which I think was a very fair price to pay because I got 100 of them in the little plastic container. They measure approximately 6 to 7 cm in length, just a standard size...
