I first discovered Palmers around 6 months ago. My Mum gave me a pot which she had bought and used on a handful of occasions but found it wasn't to her liking. Cocoa butter gel body oil - natural glow?

Disadvantages: Greasy if applied onto dry skin, takes forever to absorb

THe Sanctuary Body Butter

...the first time I have used the body butter. The Sanctuary Spa Essentials Body Butter was voted Readers Choice Best Rich Moisturiser 2009 at the Woman & Home Best Beauty Buys Award 2009. I actually received the body butter in a gift pack called Bath by Candlelight which also included some foaming bath soak and a candle. The body butter is described as an intensive moisture boost with rich cocoa butter, creamy shea butter and smoothing macadamia nut oil. The butter has the familiar Sanctuary product smell, quite a rich, fragrant spice smell. It's the kind of smell you would get when you visit a spa and get a treatment. ...I have been using 'Palmers Cocoa Butter' on and off for many years. Palmers Cocoa Butter retails for about £4 - £4.99 for the 270g pack. I buy mine at the local beauty shop and have also bought it in Superdrug previously.. It comes in a large white opaque round jar with a white screw top cover with the words 'Palmer's' in an orange caption and the 'Cocoa Butter Formula' in white letters with a brown caption box.. The rest of the jar has words 'with Vitamin E' and 'Heals & Softens rough, Dry skin' and 'Smoothes Marks & Scars' on the front. ...entire body! My experience with this product turned out to be GREAT! I recommend Palmers Cocoa Butter to anyone who is pregnant or has some scars they would like reduced. Make sure you give it a chance to work (as I said earlier, it took about 6 months for it to work on the scars I had.) Don't worry about the price...I paid $3.79 for a 16oz.(1 pint). Lovely Body Butter!

...with the other body butters that I have tried I was delighted to find that it was absorbed into my skin almost immediately. My skin felt soft and smooth and smelled lovely without being the slightest bit greasy. It is ideal for me as I hate anything that feels greasy on my skin! After a few days of use I could really see and feel the difference in the condition of my skin. It feels softer and just in generally better condition. I have since found out that the Body Shop Body Butters are all made from cocoa butter with various different added fragrances and since cocoa butter melts at body temperature this is why the body butter is so easily absorbed into the skin. ...Palmers Cocoa Butter is my "holy grail" body moisturiser. I have strayed away and tried many others but I always come back to this one. This moisturiser is recommented to "Soften, Smooths and Relieve Dry Skin", and it is also the most commonly used prevention for stretch marks in pregnancy. Since I've never been pregnant, I can't comment on how effective it is for that, but I believe it did help fade the adolescent stretch marks I have on my upper thighs. The moisturiser comes in a 250ml opaque white bottle. It is also availible in a 150ml tub with a screw off lid, but to me the consistancy seemed the same and they are the same price, so I always buy the bottle. BodyShop Cocoa Butter Lip Care- Good though a little greasy.

Advantages: Smells nice, long lasting, softens and moisturises
Disadvantages: Can feel a little greasy, can make your fingers smell of chocolate for a long time!

...I got a Body Shop voucher for christmas so decided I'd buy this with it, it costs £4 which is pricy for a lipbalm, but I thought it was worth it - I wish I could afford to buy it regularly! This is a standardly packaged lip balm stick. The stick itself is hard the first few times you use it but once it softens a bit it doesn't soften so much that it snaps (as I find some cheaper lipbalms do). The product contains cocoa butter which makes it smell like chocolate. This can be a good or a bad thing depending on your tastes! I don't mind the smell on my lips, but if any gets on my hands at all (say I tidy up the edges with my fingers) then the smell can last a while.
