Fancy a coffee old bean
Advantages: Freshly ground, available in small quantities
Disadvantages: A bit more expensive than other coffees
...haven’t tried this one yet.
The light roasted varieties have very delicate flavours which can be a little lost if you drink your coffee with milk, and I have to say I prefer the bigger, stronger, smokier flavours of the medium and full roasts.
**Medium Roasts**
Vietnamese Dalat
This uses the 'Bourbon Specie' Arabica bean, which has an intense, spicy flavour, at £2.40 per 125g.
Colombian
Colombian is a rich, smooth coffee. Whittard say they are directly supporting 'The Coffee Growing Women of Cauca Cooperative' by buying all their supreme Arabica beans. Apparently beans from this region of Popayan produce the best, full-bodied coffee. I can’t argue with that. It’s a delicious, smoky blend with a deep coffee flavour and a wonderful dark coffee aroma. Yummy! £2.00 per 125g.

₪ Bucking the Star Coffee Bean ₪
Advantages: Smells great, tastes great, perfect finish. Home brew cafe style.
Disadvantages: Caffeine addiction is a terrible thing.
...sealed my hate for the drink. Combine this with the smell of burning straw stubble and the sight of turning black banana sandwiches, it's no wonder I hated coffee and used to feel carsick. However when I got a Saturday job and was about to leave home for University, I decided I should make myself drink coffee for social reasons. I discovered black coffee tasted a bit better than milky, so there began my addiction with the coffee bean.
From instant black coffee, I have developed a taste over the years to white and 'proper' coffee. The smell of freshly ground coffee I now perceive as delicious and inviting. Our kids don't like the smell, so it must be an adult thing. Maybe I've grown up at last. Those who know me better may find this hard to believe.
We've yet to get a fancy Alessi or similar coffee machine but a simple cafetiere can be...

Basking in Beans
Advantages: Relaxing Place to Stop Off
Disadvantages: Closes Early
...the lovely coffee smell, fresh and ground beans just seem to give of such a welcoming and warm feeling.
The only think which is slightly disappointing is that this shop shuts around 6pm, just when you have finished your expiditions for the day and want to relax with a coffee before dinner and beginning your night entertainment, so this is a slight let down.
*****Food and Drink*****
The food itself is wide ranged, if not slightly expensive. There are a whole selection of sweet and savoury attributes, from simple Weymouth cupcakes, to chocolate toast and sandwiches.
As with the food, the drinks vary in a wide range. Obviously, the speciality it hot drinks, from simple coffee's to latte's, hot chocolates, tea, iced tea - anything you can think of and fancy really. As the staff are so friendly and well trained, they are able to make...

COFFEE SANTOS, BMJ, FRANCAIS, RICA, AND MANY MORE
Advantages: Great tastes, smells and different flavours. Excellent varites
Disadvantages: Nothing (except B M J price)
...As some of you may have noticed I have been away for a quite a while now. I have missed writing, but just haven’t had the time, starting Sixth Form, working, and so much more.
I thought I would come back with a bang, writing about what I know best – coffee. Lets get one thing straight – you either love it or hate it. I personally LOVE it. It makes me happy, wakes me up and makes me think straight. It is the best legal stimulant available and there are so many varieties. So this brings me on to what I am writing about – Whittard Of Chelsea Coffee Beans. Have you ever walked into Whittard’s? The smell is amazing, overpowering and (even) stimulating. I get so many people coming into my shop saying “You must love working here – just for the smell” or “It smells so good in here –...

Great Service, Great Coffee, Good Bean
Advantages: Wonderful service and great coffee
Disadvantages: Location within a bookshop
...Whether I visit the centre of Reading to browse the CD shops or pick up some groceries, my journey is never complete until I have revitalised myself with a coffee in one of the ever-increasing number of coffee shops springing up in the town.
Although I have visited most of the outlets at some point in the past, only three or four have had the benefit of my custom in the recent weeks. I consider myself to be a regular in just one of these few.
I discovered Good Bean's existence by chance when visiting Blackwell's bookshop, inside of which it is situated. Despite not being slap-bang in the centre of the town, it still manages to attract its fair share of customers.
Every credit must go to Good Bean for the excellent customer service provided. The staff treat customers as individuals, and are always polite and friendly. Genuinely...

Tesco Original coffee beans
Advantages: Why does every other coffee taste worse and cost much more?
Disadvantages: So cheap, Tesco will either double the price soon or delete it!
...Don't waste your time and money on any coffee product from ANY supermarket or shop: simply try "Tesco Original" beans - not, repeat not, the ready-ground variety. They are the cheapest beans by far - £1.28 for, I think 227g -, and took over where the even better "Tesco Colombian" left off (literally deleted from the range - again, NOT the more colourful and expensive "Tesco Colombian Supremo" pack which is anything but supreme - quite nondescript, in fact, especially for the price. The Original beans pack smell glorious when squeezed and sniffed! Even the check-out people comment on the aroma if you do it casually whilst waiting in the queue, and have bags of taste and character without being overly strong. Mind you, we also have the cheapest and best coffee maker ever - the Toshiba Filtermill all-in-one grinder and percolator!...

Sainsburys Caffiene kick Colombian beans!
Advantages: strong, cheap and easy to use
Disadvantages: not great if you are sensitive to caffiene
...COST: £2.25
PLACE OF PURCHASE: Sainsburys
WEIGHT: 227g
PACKAGING:
A resealable brown plastic pouch packaging carries this 227g quantity of Columbian beans. The outside shows pictures of brown coffee beans with a green rectangular label on the front.
AROMA:
Full bodied and a strong and deep aroma is given off from these Sainsburys own brand 100% columbian coffee beans. Theres nothing quite like a gorgeous sweet yet deep smell of coffee brewing first thing on a crispy cold winter morning. And our choice, the cheap skates that we are in the office, is a Sainsburys own brand beans from the coffees of the world range.
At only £2.25 a bag, its really good value for monay as this last 4 of us almost a whole month. But mind you, none of us have particularly strong coffees as we're all a bit concious as to the appearance of our tooth...

...Branston Baked Beans...................
I am very partial to baked beans on toast (covered in cheese) or indeed I have been known to eat them cold straight from the can either way I have always bought Heinz as they are literally the ultimate baked bean. However as Branston Baked Beans have been on special offer in Tesco's recently (buy 4 for £1) I snapped them up and was pleasantly surprised.
The Branston Baked Bean tin design is a lot different from that of the Heinz tin. Of course it still has a picture of some beans on the front but instead of the Heinz green label Branston's is silver and looks just as good as its rival.
The beans inside the tin look pretty much the same as Heinz with the thick red/orange sauce and the tin full to the top with beans and juice. The smell again is practically the same only Branston...

Coffee with a Conscience?
Advantages: Good taste, cheap, sustainable development.
Disadvantages: Air miles?
.... You can check out more about the Rainforest Alliance at: www.ra.org This is in fact a very cool website and I may review this at a later date.
The smell and taste:
Open the jar and you are hit with a very rich and dark smell, that is unmistakenly coffee, but also has a distant smell of chocolate in my opinion. I also love the paper tops that coffe jars have and the smell that hits you when you pop them. The smell when you pour boiling water over the granules is divine, one spoon is adequate, I use two.
The taste is rich, I was surprised at how much like filter coffee it tastes as I am not a great fan of instant, it is smooth and strong and leaves an aftertaste that is pleasant and decadent.
Packaging:
The Jar it comes in is glass and is quite attractive with a bamboo coloured facia that has a picture of some coffee beans...

Bargain Beans
Advantages: cheap, taste and smell good
Disadvantages: Well we all know what too many beans means!
...Always on the lookout for a bargain and a way to save a few pennies I was pleased when I came across a new brand of beans in my local Tesco. Hubby just does not like the value beans so I was buying Tesco?s own brand but as these can in at over 10p a can cheaper I decided to give them a go.
~~OAK LANE~~
Oak Lane are a new brand of foods which Tesco have taken on and advertise as their ?discount brand?. it is available on a lot of products in store and I have personally found every one which I have tried to be of good quality. The price of this brand always seems to match the Tesco Value price.
~~THE TIN~~
The beans come in the standard metal tin which unfortunately does not have a ring pull on top but this is no problem if you have a can opener. The label is wrapped around the tin and is a blue colour and has the Oak Lane...
