...I really love the taste and smell of fresh ground coffee, especially from Colombia or Costa Rica. There is a richness and distinctive aroma as you open the pack which just sets the taste buds tingling???..Alas, all too often it is simply not practical or best use of time to indulge in real brewed coffee so instant must suffice. Unfortunately in this sector of the beverage market price is often indicative of quality, and premium brand instant coffees almost always taste better than the standard or economy offerings. Having experienced enjoyable cups of Percol Fresh Ground Colombian Coffee I had high expectations from the instant variety: even more so since it was on offer at just over £2 for a 100g jar making it very competitive against other premium brands. The trams are placed side by side with a little walkway connecting the two. In one tram there are seating areas, and in the other tram there is a bar with more seating areas and also the toilets. Menu The café is only fairly small so we were surprised to see that, considering its size, it still had quite a varied menu. The café sells various drinks including wines, beer, international spirits such as baileys and Malibu and soft drinks such as coke and sprite. A selection of milkshakes including vanilla and blueberry flavour were also on offer. They serve hot drinks including tea, coffee, hot chocolate and hot fruit juices. My girlfriend had hot Pear Juice which to be honest sounded awful to me...

...I've been spending a lot of time in my local Costa Coffee. It's situated on the first floor of Waterstones in Liverpool and is one of the nicest places I've ever gone for coffee. It is probably how I would imagine the Ciao Café to be. The list of types of coffee is almost as large as the price tags! But if the coffee was free and you could have anything you wanted, what would you have? I'm going to attempt, through a creative amalgamation of book shop, Italian coffee aromas, comfy chairs and conversation, to explore what the real Ciao Café might be like. Lets start with the window outside, a bit strange for a café, all the books, DVDs, Computers, even a lawn mower and a garden hose. The shop seems to have an inner glow, a deep warmth compared to the gloomy grey outside. There's so much to grab your attention, postcards of hotels...

It's quite hard to describe in words just how pleasant the interior of The Orrery is, and how exquisite the wallpaper looks up close. There are only a few tables, which could be a problem at busy times. **Food and Drinks** The Orrery is primarily a cafe, so don't go and expect to be served with a three course meal. I believe they do light lunches, but the main trade are teas, coffees and cakes. I've been to The Orrery twice and both times the cakes have been delicious. The first time, I opted for a Hot Chocolate and a chocolate brownie - both of which were very nice. The second time, I had a fruit smoothie (freshly made), and I very much recommend it.
