Coffee with a Conscience?

Overall: This is a very good instant coffee which is reasonably priced (£2.60 or thereabouts). It has changed my mind about the taste of 'instant' and it is doing a small bit to help in terms of the environment and local farmers. Disadvantages: Bit bland, not full bodied as rivals or real ground coffee

Because with these bags, you are making your coffee directly in the cup, the bitter sludge is left in your cup, thus making the last couple of mouthfuls extremely bitter - undrinkably so. Indeed, the last quarter of your cup of coffee becomes increasingly gloopy and bitter. I'd imagine this would be worse if you left the bag in for longer than I did, and if you squeezed the bag upon removal. Are these bags a perfect replacement for fresh ground coffee? No. Are they an adequate replacement for instant? Yes, if you like your coffee a bit bitterer than instant - a bit more 'freshly ground' tasting. ...Drinking a cup of coffee for me is a rare thing. I will decide on a cup maybe once every six months but even then when I drink it I am left with an awful headache and I feel quite sick too. Over the last few years, Bailey's have started adding a little something extra to their liqueurs by adding a "hint of mint", a "hint of caramel", and now a "hint of coffee".
