...My boyfriend and I recently invited some friends round for dinner and as we were looking around our local Tesco's for something tasty to dish up, we came across Tesco's Finest Salmon en Croute. Packaging Tesco's Finest Salmon en Croute comes in a cardboard box which is decorated in the same sort of style as other Tesco's Finest products. The box is black and grey in colour with Tesco's Finest written across the front. Salmon en Croute is also written across the front and there is a large picture of the product when it is cooked splashed across the front also. There is also a product description on the packaging which states 'Prime salmon fillet. Butter enriched puff pastry. Spinach and lemon sauce.' ...The fish fingers come in an attractive eye catching box. The picture on the front shows the pink salmon contained inside a golden coloured fish finger. Each box contains 10 salmon fish fingers. I paid £2 from my local Tesco but the recommended retail price is around £2.60. The information on the outside of the box says that the fish fingers are made from wild salmon. However on reading the nutritional information on the back of the box I see that these fish fingers contain 58% salmon. There is no, mention what other type of fish has been used. This is something I would like to know! The breadcrumbs and batter covering contain vegetable oil. A serving of 3 fish fingers will give you 190 calories, and 8 grams of fat. Salmon isn't my favourite fish by any means, as I find the flavour of it a little too pungent, but as a new-ish product, Birds Eye Salmon Fish Fingers caught my eye in Sainsbury's deep freeze the other day - naturally a pack sort of jumped into my trolley! The pack is of very similar design to Birds Eye Cod Fish Fingers, except that the predominant colour is a salmon pink. It's a fish that has seen its luxury status stripped most unfairly due to the fact that it's over-farmed and its price has dropped to the point where the likes of me can afford it. But its delicate flavour, firm texture and winning combination with a crisp dry white wine makes it my number one favourite fish to cook with. Except. I have this little dish I do, when I'm cooking for myself in full-on bachelor mode. ...I like a tasty sandwich and, although I have my favourite fillings, when I saw a new range of fillings in Tesco the other day I was tempted to give one a try. The CaféDeli range of sandwich fillings are decribed as a 'premium quality sandwich filler' so I was curious to see if they lived up to that claim. I chose the CaféDeli Smoked Salmon option as I regard smoked salmon as a bit of a treat, something out of the ordinary and definitely different from my usual sandwich fillings. CaféDeli Smoked Salmon is 'made from the finest natural ingredients of smoked salmon seasoned with lemon, herbs and spices' and the makers claim it is a good source of Omega 3 and 6. Salmon Crumble Pie

...of the box, it sits in a black tray and and the look is pretty bland but to be fair, all food that is frozen does. After taking it out of the microwave and making sure it was piping hot, I was more than willing to give this a go. It is a meal that I have alone or with extra veg depending on hungry I am but the smell of the potatoes and salmon was mouthwatering. I dug my fork into the golden crumble of the potato that now looked totally different from what it did when it was frozen and the potato must have been about 2 inches deep and then you hit an aromatic savoury sauce with large chunks of pink salmon in it. The salmon tasted quite earthy, but then again what salmon doesn't and it is not my most favourite fish, but it crumbled into my mouth and the taste was rather nice. Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead

...I'm not and never will be one of those people that purchase a lot of ready made and boxed foods. Although it seems the easier option when your too busy to cook a proper, healthy dinner, i always choose to ignore, easy microwavable meals. I suppose the shock horror stories and television documentaries that show these packet foods and what disgusting extra's they add doesn't exactly help or persuade me to purchase.
