...Codemasters always produce the best in racing games on any system; TOCA, Micro Machines, Colin McRae etc. All these games in turn have set the standard for racing games on any foramat be that Playstatio, PC or N64. The Colin McRae games have defiantly set the standard in rallying games, thers just isn’t a rallying game that comes remotely cost bar the small rallying mode on GT1, GT2 and GT3. The first Colin McRae game was brilliant the physics were spot on, the rally cars slid around in the mud, around every corner perfectly like no other rally game, the whole ralling experience was just so convincing, The 3D graphics were also brilliant for the time, utilising the original voodoo 1 technology, that if you had the PC version. ...Colin Mcrae, a really great addition to the evergrowing selection of Sony games. However this is one of the best. Colin Mcrae was made so popular because of the thrills and realistic graphics and sounds of a real rrraaaaalllllyyyy. There are may different options with Colin Mcrae rally. There's obviously a rally mode where you race around different regions with different climates. You have the challenge of beating Colin Mcrae's track record of each course. There's also a training mode with Colin Mcrae's voice to help your driving skills and practice before entering the time trials. ...**I know this is in the wrong category, but there still isn't a category for Colin Mcrae Rally 3 yet, so hopefully ciao will move this one, along with the mad cabbies when they create a category for it!** Colin Mcrae Rally 3.0 was the first rally game I had played on either the playstation or the Playstation 2, it was also the first Colin Mcrae game I have ever played, and to sum it all up in 3 word’s, I’m VERY impressed? I got this as part of my wonderfull Christmas presents this year. This has got to be my second best playstation 2 game so far, next to the number 1 slot of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. I love games that are realistic, I hate games where you car drive a car into a wall at 100mph and not even scratch it’s shiny metallic paint (Gran Turismo, take note). ...Anyone who has played rallying games on the xbox knows that colin mcrae is a good game. Anyone who has played Colin Mcrae on any other console will not have seen it this good. Basically the idea is that you drive your rally car around rally tracks all over the world, using a choice of cars, and then choices of tyres, gear ratios, suspension settings,etc.,etc. Depending on how much time you have to play the game you'll either become bored rather quickly or you'll love it immensely. Colin Mcrae 4 is much improved on previous versions of this game.The cars seem to handle better, the overall graphics are much smoother and the game runs very well indeed. ...The original Colin McRae Rally was released a couple of years ago now and when it was it set new standards for rally gaming with its superb graphics,gameplay and sounds. Rally gaming hadn`t really took off at this point the only one worth talking about at the time CMR was released was Network Q Rally Championship which had become very outdated as it had been released 2-3 years premature to CMR. The Rally gaming industry is now as competitive as the F1 gaming scence with 3-4 rally games released each year. This year has seen the release of three rally games all with their sights set on knocking the original CMR off the top position in rally gaming and all have succeded, but back has come Codemasters with the sequel to the original and it beats all the other competitiors hands down. ...Racing games are on the top of my list and Colin McRae Ralley is one of the most exciting racing games I ever played. The graphics are good, the sound is good and the driving experience is real fast. Sliding and drifting through corners feels very real (but how should I know...). When you start Colin McRae you can go to driving school to learn the tricks from the master himself. I thought his comments were pretty boring. But when you're done with ralley school you can start racing, there are three levels of difficulty and not all cars are available on each level. The higher the difficulty-level the faster the cars available. I loved driving the Subaru Impreza in which Colin McRae became World Champion. ...WOW! This is by far the best game in the Colin Mcrae series and possibly the most realistic rally game in the world. Codemasters have gone to extreme lengths in creating the latest addition to the series, which includes 40+ vehicles of a great veriety, ranging from super buggys to the ever popular rally car the Subaru Impreza WRX. The career mode is so vast and has specific goals for you to aim for which increase the playability factor of the game, and also can make it very addictive. The graphics are top quality, you cannot expect more from a rally game, great detail can be found all over the game, not just the on the tracks. With 5 levels of diffuculty the game can be played by all levels of rally drivers, and can be changed at any time on the career mode, as to make the races more of a challange as your skills improve. ...Well it's just arrived and I'm a Playstation Widow again! Codemasters Colin McRae Rally 2 has come to my home. I don't know a great deal about these things but in my own womanly way I have to admit it is FANTASTIC. I've given it my full undivided attention for a couple of hours and this is my opinion. 1 The graphics are second to none. Whilst playing or watching someone else play, you feel as if you are in the car. 2 There's some "Groovy" music playing in the background but it's not offensive. You can probably turn that off, but I haven't got that far into understanding the game. 3 You can actually understand what you're doing with the cars set up...I'm a woman god damn, but I now know what the "differential" is. ...Codemasters have always been good at making racing games, bringing us Micro Machines, TOCA and the first Colin McRae. Colin McRae Rally 2.0 is definitely one of the best to date. Featuring a host of accurately modelled mud hugging beasts the game is immediately more of a simulation than V-Rally 2. So much so in fact that some may be surprised at just how much braking is actually required. The gameplay is simple enough and one of the main strengths of this game is how easy it is to look very good at it. You will surprise yourself at how simply you can pull off long and accurate powerslides. This really makes the game very fun and satisfying to play. ...I often am attracted to the buy 3 PC games for a tenner section in my local game store, especially when they stock such great games as delta force, worms armageddon, Alien vs. Predator and other. And although I m not much of a racing fan and I don't really like racing games I was tempted to buy Colin McRae 2 for £3.33. So I did. Unlike some of "Sold Outs" Software, Colin McRae 2 was really easy to load, required no patches from the internet and works fine on all Microsoft computers. Intstallition on my computer took less than 5 secs! The game is very easy to navigate around and has shed-loads of options to play around with. The graphics are good, and don't look as dated as some games.
