Lexmark z22-The perfect package, low cost printer

Advantages: Low cost, good for package deal
Disadvantages: Ink cartridges very expensive

...I bought the lexmark z22 4 years ago as part of the package with my pc. I have since been very pleased with it and although it is not the highest quality printer or the fastest it is very "family friendly". I mean by this sturdy and has lasted ages without any faults or malfunctions. **Installability** Very easy to follow manual and was installed in about 5 minutes. It was ready to go straight away and the on screen installer was very straight forward aswell. **Speed** I believe this is the only downside to the printer. If you decide to print a picture with lots of colour in it takes a while. Although the finished product is always at a very high standard. Oki toner cartridge - Professional, excellent quality printing.

Advantages: Professional quality. Simple to change, good colour
Disadvantages: Expensive, not sure if it is recyclable

...I have been using the Oki toner cartridges for apporximately 12 months. In my opinion the quality is fantastic, clear and precise. When a notice pops up telling me to replace the cartridge it can be ignored for quite a considerable time, even when running low on certain colours I have still found that the quality is good. When the time comes that the colour reproduction is not good enough then as long it is not for an important document I have found that by just simply removing the cartridge, shaking it about a bit and replacing it, it can bring the colour back to life and will add extra life to it.On the whole I feel it produces professional print quality. I think it is an expensive item but have not compared the longevity against an alternative product....

I picked mine up in the USA for just $49.99, that's around £36 in English money. Cheap and Nasty

Advantages: cheaply priced
Disadvantages: not very long lasting

...they just didn't want to know . They knew the printer was dead and not economically repairable but would not admit it to me . I got this confirmed from 2 local computer experts , one of whom laughed out loud when I said it was a Lexmark !! ( Very reassuring ! ) The attitude of the company is disgusting and 2 years for a printer that I didn't use more than twice a week is not very long . Although I am aware printers are not necessarily that long lived !! I would never buy another Lexmark at all . The cartridge prices at nearly £28 for originals are a very expensive , when compared to rival manufacturers such as Epson , Cannon etc . The lesson here is quality comes a price and the Lexmzrk Z22 just is not reliable ....

The Cheap and cheerful ish Cartridge!

Advantages: Cheap, colour print is good, easy to insert
Disadvantages: Black comes out green! Runs out quickly VERY Quickly!

...Hello and welcome to this review! My gosh those trial cartridges that come with your printer sure do run out quickly! These cartridges are greatly priced, much cheaper than other brands such as HP! However, there is one problem I have come accross when using the Lexmark 1 Cartridge. That being - When black is printed, it doesn't quite come out black! Its more of a green colour. I understand this is because colours are mixed inside the cartridge to make black but the best colour they can make must be green:( I thought it may have been my printer however I bought a second and its exactly the same! I would definately say for the price of this printer and cartridge range It is good for people doing everyday printing, however if you are printing invoices etc and require that crisp look Im afraid you will not get it...

One thing, is that when I print the color has to be immaculate to what I actually have produced, but that's where I want to warn people not to buy color cartridges for the sake of printing photographs, there is usually a separate cartridge for this, although it usually replaces the black ink, please check if that is the case as the photos will come up more blurred and out of focus. The color is of standards color, I wouldn't say it's great. It dries up fairly quick witch is always a good thing. The price averages around 25 GBP from the HP website last time I checked to places like Tesco's that sell it for 13.99 GBP. So that's where you can save some money. One thing about this...

Great Printer for the Money

...Printers come in many different shapes and sizes but fundamentally all do the same job. I have the Lexmark Z22 and have found it to be a useful and efficient providing good quality printouts relatively quickly. The printer is quite compact and well designed. The paper feed tray fold down so that when it is not in use it uses less space and clutter. Likewise the tray to catch the printouts is extendable allowing it fit into the main printer section also leaving more room. Changing the cartridge is very easy as when the front section of the printer is lifted it slides to the centre allowing the old one to be taken out before a new one is clicked in. It is compatible with Windows and Mac platform machines and is very simple to install. It comes with a CD that will launch when placed in the CD tray and then it will offer on screen...

6000 sheets per cartridge?!

Advantages: Easy to use, easy to set up, lots of prints per cartridge
Disadvantages: Expensive, not really for home use

...I have been working in a County Council office for nearly eighteen months now; when I started we had a fifty year old black and white printer which sometimes printed and sometimes just add the paper but luckily we now have the HP Color LaserJet 3600. We got the printer a few months ago now so we have had a fair bit of experience and carried out all the routine maintenance you would expect to within the life of a printer. Now I can't tell you anything about the packaging as we have a separate department who deal with all our technology bits, so they received the printer, unpacked it and brought it up to our office. What I can tell you though is what's included in the box. - 1 USB lead (2m long) - 1 black toner cartridge (Q6470A) will last up to 6000 sheets - 1 cyan toner cartridge (Q6471A) will last up to 4000 sheets - 1 yellow...

...Yes I admit it I am going grey. I coloured my hair recently using Naturtint hair colour. Naturtint make a range of 24 Permanent Hair Colorants, from Ebony black , chestnut reds through to Blondes. It is also possible to mix these colours to get your own individual shade . My hair is not a vibrant colour its a greying mouse brown. Since this was the first time I was using this brand of hair dye I decided to play safe and a I chose hazel nut blonde. they don?t do mouse brown. I bought my pack from a health store. I think you should be able to buy it from health shops chemists and on line too, one site selling is http://www.herbsgardenshealth.com. I paid £9 for a bottle of this colour. It is more expensive than others I have used in the past .., but I think I have developed an allergy to one of the other hair dyes and bored...
