An A/V receiver with the WOW factor

Advantages: Looks great, sounds awesome, feels awesome
Disadvantages: Detailed set up can be tricky - just as well it comes idiot proof!

Review of Marantz SR 4400 A/V Receiver

TomTom Wireless GPS Receiver 20 channel GPS receiver module

Advantages: good

...I dont have a 20 channel receiver however I do have a 12 channel receiver which came in the box with my Tom Tom Navigator 5 for PDA, whichi I use in my Treo 680 Smart Phone. The whole thing works perfectly and I couldn't ask for more as Sat Nav goes. The GPS receiver looks identical to the 20 channel one shown here and if this one works as well as mine does then you can't go wrong. It has a matt cover which makes it stay put where ever you place it on the dashboard and in use I've found that it picks up a signal very quickly and once linked to the PDA by bluetooth it keeps the signal so long as it can see just a tiny bit of sky. Once linked I take the unit off the dash and place it on the floor of the car in between the seats and it keeps the signal through motorway tunnels and even during a traffice halt under a bridge! The package contains, with the product itself, a car support, a cd with the supplementary maps, a usb - mini usb cable to connect the receiver to the pc, a series of warranty and other signs like that and one sheet (yes, ONE sheet) where the instructions are written. ...About 2 years ago I invested in a Philips Video Sender system; the idea of a Video Sender is that a image whether it be DVD, Video, Or Satellite could be sent to another room in the house. This seemed like a great idea to me especially as at the time we used to watch a lot of TV in bed. Having invested in this system I soon got quite annoyed, you could not move about in the room (upstairs) without interfering with the picture. Within a week I had taken the system out and packed it up. We recently moved into a house at the base of some hills; as a result its impossible to get a television signal via a conventional Ariel; we had to get sky in just to get a picture. Trouble being is that we lost the ability to see TV upstairs, and did not really want to pay out additional money to have another receiver installed at the top of the house...
