30CDi - Superb Condensing Combi

...We had the Worcester / Bosch Combi Boiler Greenstar 30CDi installed in May this year, having recently moved into a house with a pre-historic back boiler. Having had over 8 heating engineers round to quote for the job and provide advice on their preference of boiler for our 3-bed semi, and then having reviewed the various boiler recommended (Valiant etc) we opted for the Worcester / Bosch Combi Boiler Greenstar 30CDi primarily on family recommendations, the fact that it came with 2 year warranty (3 years if installed by a Worcester installation engineer - as ours was) but the winning factor - that Worcester provided an extended warranty to 5 years, with the inclusion of a yearly service for 5 years for only £230 approx. You pay more than that in servicing alone for 3 years - let alone servicing by an approved technician for 5 years...

Best combi bolier for a two beds property

Advantages: Excellent energy efficiency and money savings over older versions
Disadvantages: Time lag to generate hot water on economy mode

Onn 15in LCD/DVD Combi

Advantages: Cheap and comes with built in DVD player
Disadvantages: Picture Quality is poor if not angled properly

...I have owned the Onn 15 inch LCD, DVD combi for just over a year. The Onn brand is an Asda supermarket own brand product range. The tv works well and has its own stand attached to it which can be angle. The major problem with Onn is that to have a good picture quality you have to be looking directly at the screen, ie the screen is perpendicular to your vision, if the screen is viewed at an angle the picture quality is very poor. Because I have a low to the floor bed and my tv sits on the chester drawers I have to angle it downward using a book propped underneath the stand so that its in line with my vision. I can say that once the angle is correct the picture quality is good. Saab 9-3 Sport Combi...a hoot to drive !

Advantages: Very roomy in the back
Disadvantages: Could do with a more compatible in-car phone system
