...Antler combination lock On a recent foray abroad, I decided that it was about time I started locking my trusty holdall.. just because it has served me well for about 20years, doesn?t mean that it will always remain tightly shut when I get it off that carousel. "LOCKED" INN . . .

Advantages: lovely rooms, great food, good location, easily accessible

...This week I stayed at the Holiday Inn Camden Lock for three nights while I was in London for work. My only previous trips to London have had me staying in the ExCel Novotel in Docklands so this was a new experience for me. LOCATION The hotel is located in Camden, next to (predictably!) Camden Lock. It is about a five minute walk from Camden Town tube station, which makes it fairly convenient if you?re having to use public transport to reach it. The website states that the hotel is also outwith the congestion zone, which I guess means you could drive down to the hotel and then use it as a base to get elsewhere using the tube or buses. Advantages: Looks so cool! Fun to assemble
Disadvantages: Don't misplace any pieces!

...find it so rewarding putting the pieces together and following the instructions to make something that looks really impressive. It looks really good on display and is a great conversation piece! It is currently looking very swish on a table in the corner of our sitting room. The total length of the combine harvester is a massive 17 inches! It really is impressive. The age on the box is 10 - 16 years, but personally I thought this was quite tricky to make, especially since there are so many pieces and the actual combine harvester is so big. I'm not sure I would have managed it when I was 10! There are 1025 pieces in the model. I would take care not to loose any pieces whilst making this, we had to stall our assembling for a little while while we searched for one tiny piece that we could not continue without! A rubbish way of locking your loo!

Advantages: ummm any?! no!
Disadvantages: Doesn't stick at all!

...I looked into buying this when I decided I needed to child proof my home! My baby isn't quite at the age yet where she's putting her hands down the toilet or trapping her fingers between the seat of the loo but my friend's toddlers are and it's yet another thing to think about- is another teddy going to be dropped down the loo again?! I saw this advertised in a magazine and thought it looked like a good idea. It's aim is to keep the toilet lid firmly shut so that children don't drop things down the loo or put their fingers into the unhygenic water. I guess it could also be used to stop dogs drinking out of it too! It sticks on with adhesive on the side of the lock. ...Cycle security is something that is essential these days, especially when I live. So when choosing a lock you need to get something that is secure. This lock cost me 25 quid from my local bike shop, and if it is not stocked by yours then ask for advice. It is a D-Lock, which means that it is D shaped, obviously. It consists of a big u shaped metal tube coated in tough black plastic padlock that fits securely onto the lock. The best was to secure your bike is to find a suitable post or cycle stand. Then feed the lock through the rear wheel and the frame, this secures the rear wheel as well as the bike frame, the instructions are quite clear anyway. You can also attach a chain to secure the front wheel as well. Again the instructions show this very clearly. Once secured in this manner it would take a very persistent bike thief...
