Review of Combination Boiler System

Fresh cool moisturisation, even for sensitive skin

Advantages: Immediate effects, lovely smell, smoother skin
Disadvantages: Pricey! but you get what you pay for

...the lid and the consistency is quite rich. It feels smooth and soothing on the skin and the cucumber leaves it feeling cool and calmed after application. It's oil free and having combination skin, it doesn't feel greasy and your makeup doesn't slide off if you apply it over the top. Most importantly for me after a weeks worth of applications not a breakout or red patch in site!! I was really impressed with the moisturising effects and my skin felt 'plumper'. The RRP for this product is around £30 for 50ml on the website which is pricey but it does have the added bonus of containing a sunscreen of spf 15 and supposed anti-oxidant properties which help combat the aging process. I would guess that this is aimed at the 30 something who wants a good, fresh feeling moisturiser who isn't too worried about using 'anti-aging' products...

Review of Estee Lauder Daywear Plus Cream Normal/Combination Skin

Superbalanced for combination skins.

Advantages: Matches my skin tone well and blends perfectly.
Disadvantages: Is rather pricey.

...I've tried out alot of different types of foundations because I have terrible skin. I am blemish prone and it goes through it's spells of being too oily or too dry. I can also never find a nice shade for my skin, I am rather pale, and I've found that sometimes the lightest shade in a make up range is basically white, and the next shade down is too dark! I wanted to try out the superbalanced make up for a while. I was buying some of the Clarifying Powder (which I also recommend) and they were doing a bonus time, so I had to buy something else for the gift. I asked the sales advisor about this type of make up and she found a good shade for me, Alabastor and it blends in very nicely. This foundation is lovely and silky and is good at covering up any marks. I apply it using a sponge but it blends in just as nicely using your fingers...

Advantages: Looks so cool! Fun to assemble
Disadvantages: Don't misplace any pieces!

...find it so rewarding putting the pieces together and following the instructions to make something that looks really impressive. It looks really good on display and is a great conversation piece! It is currently looking very swish on a table in the corner of our sitting room. The total length of the combine harvester is a massive 17 inches! It really is impressive. The age on the box is 10 - 16 years, but personally I thought this was quite tricky to make, especially since there are so many pieces and the actual combine harvester is so big. I'm not sure I would have managed it when I was 10! There are 1025 pieces in the model. I would take care not to loose any pieces whilst making this, we had to stall our assembling for a little while while we searched for one tiny piece that we could not continue without! Soothing aromatherapy treat for oily skin

Rather than the usual 3 steps of cleanse tone and moisturise, Decleor adds a fourth step to their skincare programmes, before moisturising you add the teeniest bit of an aromatherapy oil to provide intensive benefits. Now it can seem a little strange to put an oil on a greasy skin, but 'oil' is perhaps a misleading term here. These are blends of concentrated aromatherapy oils, there are four different ones, and the ylang ylang (it contains many other ingredients besides that particular essential oil) really does help to sooth and rebalance oily and problem skin. unbalanced my combination skin even more..

Advantages: soothing and good for sensitive skin whether oily or dry
Disadvantages: takes a while to sink in and only works well when used in conjunction with serums etc

...after reading glowing reviews on the body shop website...do they writte these themselves i wonder? - i decided to head to body shop for moisturiser, in particular i was interested in the aloe range. Anyhow there just seemed so much to choose from at the shop and i couldn't decide what to get in the end the assistant gave me several sample sachets of vitamin e serum (THIS i love and will purchase for sure/will trying putting up a review on it soon) and the aloevera soothing day cream. The main ingredients in the this day cream are aloe vera gel and oats both known for soothing, nourishing properties. It is a white coloured cream with the faintest smell of aloe. The cream turns into a very liquidy lotion when massaged onto skin and might leave a greasy residue on the face for about a minute but soon sinks in. I don't feel like i need to...

I like Liz Earle Skin Repair - normal/combination

Advantages: Effective without overloading your skin
Disadvantages: Not readily available in shops

I wish Liz would make this packaging available all the time. Look out for good deals on eBay too. I never put moisturiser on my chin because I am so afraid of spots but believe it wouldn't cause too many problems as I've never been able to blame Skin Repair for spots!
