I wouldn't say the staff were particularly multi-lingual, but with my best phrase-book style German and her slightly better English, we didn't have any major problems understanding one another. I can't say the same about finding our room though. The hotel is a traditional motel-style affair with a combination of three, 2 or 3 storey buildings around a courtyard. The trouble was that there were no room numbers on the outside of the buildings and consequently there was no way of knowing which building our room was in. Surprise, surprise. Our room was at the end of the last corridor of the last building we looked in. The room was decorated in pastel shades with beechwood furniture and finishings. Situated just round the corner from Gloucester Road tube station near Kensington in central London, the hotel takes up much of the whole block. = BOOKING = I was in London for work as part of a large party, so the booking arrangements were handled by the people organising the trip. I have looked at the website, and booking seems very straightforward on there, with an easy form with drop-down menus with options for the quality of room. Our group were all given standard rooms, which cost £130 per night, not including breakfast. Since it was a work trip, this was in the ballpark of costs for the type of hotel that MEPs would consider acceptable. ...We have recently come back from a weekend away down in London. The trip was not purely a leisure break - although we did of course make the most of our time by perusing some of the sights in the capital. The main reason, however, for us going to London was so that my mum could attend a hospital appointment which was arranged for early on the Monday morning. Rather than travel down on the day and risk being late, we decided to travel down by train on the Saturday and make a long weekend of it. The hospital my mum attends is near Harrow, in Middlesex. After searching online for hotels in the local area, we came across the Comfort Inn hotel, which is located 5-10 minutes walk from Northwick Park underground station (on the Metropolitan Line). A comfortable, friendly hotel.

Advantages: Excellent breakfast, wonderfully friendly, very clean

...I stayed here for a night in February 2007 as a present from my partner as I grew up in Harrogate. Grants Hotel is a family-run hotel situated near to the conference centre and about five minutes walk from the Turkish Baths and Valley Gardens. The carpark is relatively secure and situated to the rear of the building and it accessed by a driveway which involves a little driving skill to get around. The reception is quite welcoming with plenty of unique furniture, comfortable chairs and personal pictures around rather than the generic historical prints you sometimes see. It also has a 24 hour reception with a wonderfully talkative night porter who also tends the bar in the late evening. Crescent Hotel in Ilkley, Shabby Comfort

...With our annual cricket trip organised we (me and two friends) were off to Headingley and given it was the Ashes, we were actually a bit stuck for accommodation. And so to the rescue came Ilkley. One of us had spent some time there before, and with a ringing endorsement our hotel search shifted out into Yorkshire. Where we found the Crescent Hotel. Located just 5 minutes walk from the train station in Ilkley this is a perfect location for getting about. The train to Leeds takes just 30 minutes, with the regular bus service being around 15-20 minutes longer. Ilkley itself is lovely, and there are a number of pubs and restaurants within a few minutes stroll from the Crescent. Arrival was slightly confusing, however. The entrance from the main street takes you into a large bar, and it's not immediately obvious where the reception is...

Linda Hotel - Basic but comfortable

Advantages: Cheap, clean, friendly staff, comfortable beds
Disadvantages: Lots of stairs, quite far out, basic

...number 4, which takes you into town. Or it is not far from a taxi rank (again walking straight you will come across it)... or the hotel will happily call a taxi, which gets to you in about 5 minutes. I personally loved walking from the hotel into town every day... you go past some lovely restaurants that you would perhaps never see. OVERALL: A very basic hotel, which I think attracts mostly those on a budget and stag party groups. Comfortable, clean, basic, a good places to stay if you are only looking for a place to crash at night. It does look like it needs a bit of plastering in places, and a touch of paint etc... but overall, not bad!!...

...THE COMFORT INN – MURRAY HILL – NYC A stone’s throw away from the Empire State Building, rests a hotel that I found to be a pleasant surprise. It may not be ultra-fancy. It may not be ultra-chic, but it has quite a few notable qualities. One is security. A very able-bodied doorman checks guests for a cardkey before allowing them to enter the building. He also chases riff-raff (in the wee hours of the morning) away from the building. Obvious video cameras keep a watchful eye on hallways and elevator doors. A courteous staff will help you in any way they can. I walked into this hotel, off the street, for the first time, without a reservation. (I recommend doing this---NEVER. It is very risky business. In this case it worked out. Also, you pay a higher price). The staff took great pains to explain the amenities...

...easier, we havent had any dsasters with them so far and have been using them for some months now, Another added bonus with these condoms is that they are a little larger than the ordinary condoms making them a lot more comfortable for my hubby, dont get me wrong he isnt hung like a donkey or anything but just seems to have a little more width than most condoms will accomodate comfortably. These condoms are a little bit more expensive than others but are definately worth the extra money to make it more enjoyable....

Phnom Penh's most comfortable hotel (Not!)

Advantages: good location, spacious suite, nice silk wall-hangings
Disadvantages: surly and unhelpful staff, horrible and expensive food

...This was our first trip to Phnom Penh and we had decided to splash out and treat ourselves to a bit of luxury. Well, that was the theory, anyway. Billed as "Phnom Penh's most comfortable hotel", the Bougainvillier seemed like a good bet for a bit of pampering and luxury. At $83 per night for a suite we were expecting something seriously good. This was very expensive for Phnom Penh - on our next visit we stayed in a pretty decent place for $25 per night. (Prices are in USD because that's the main currency used in Cambodia.) We arrived just before 9am so naturally we didn't expect to check in that early. We did, however, expect them to try to flog us breakfast while we waited. Not so. Once we'd dumped the bags, the woman on reception suggested we should "go and look at something" while we waited. Not that we wanted to buy...

Comforting cleanser

Advantages: Very moisturising & soothing

...I bought this after getting a sample of a similar Clinique face wash and really liking it. I liked the sound of this one because it was described as being really gentle and I feel my skin is becoming increasingly sensitive recently. I cheated and got it from a seller on Amazon, which meant it worked out a few pounds cheaper than the original price which is £13.70 for the 150ml bottle. What it says on the bottle? ?Gently and effectively removes stubborn makeup, leaves skin smooth and comfortable? It also directs you to massage in the cleanser before rinsing or wiping off with a tissue. Packaging? The bottle is typically Clinique, it is a white tube with a hint of pink. It has a green lid at the bottom and in block capitals ?Clinique? at the top and ?comforting cream cleanser? in smaller black writing beneath...
