...THE COMFORT INN – MURRAY HILL – NYC A stone’s throw away from the Empire State Building, rests a hotel that I found to be a pleasant surprise. It may not be ultra-fancy. It may not be ultra-chic, but it has quite a few notable qualities. One is security. A very able-bodied doorman checks guests for a cardkey before allowing them to enter the building. He also chases riff-raff (in the wee hours of the morning) away from the building. Obvious video cameras keep a watchful eye on hallways and elevator doors. A courteous staff will help you in any way they can. I walked into this hotel, off the street, for the first time, without a reservation. (I recommend doing this---NEVER. It is very risky business. In this case it worked out. Also, you pay a higher price). The staff took great pains to explain the amenities...

I want to be a part of it, New York, New York!

Advantages: Comfortable, amazing bathroom, nice rooms
Disadvantages: Small rooms, random cleaning times!

...On my recent trip to the USA I left Mr Tart to book the hotel for New York. Normally I wouldn?t leave it to him as I?d end up in the cheapest hostel but my influence is obviously rubbing off as he came up trumps with the Hilton! LOCATION: The Hilton Garden Inn is located at 63 West 35th Street. We wanted something pretty central so we could pay for as little transport as possible. We couldn?t really have done much better. We were a two minute walk from Macys (very important for the girls!) and a 10 minute walk to Times Square. There was also a subway stop literally 10 metres from the entrance to the hotel. PRICES: We stayed in the hotel for two nights. Mr Tart booked through Priceline so we didn?t know exactly what we were going to get but he?d stipulated area and minimum star rating. Not Much Sleep To Be Had at The Comfort Inn London

Advantages: It's relatively cheap to stay in the room, so it's not all too bad.
Disadvantages: The staff, the prices in the restaurant, I know it's London, but I was shocked

...Here is the review: When we decided to book our trip to New York for my 18th we knew the only way to really get to London, was by National Express. Only one of us drives and that person doesn?t feel safe on motorways. The National Express journey was terrible, but when we booked the package, we also booked a hotel called Comfort Inn. We were quite shocked when we were dropped outside of Terminal 5, to then have to wait about 20 minutes for another bus to get to the hotel. I myself was quite shocked to find that the trip took about 20 minutes to get to the Comfort Inn; I thought it would have been on the doorstep of Heathrow, but apparently I was very naive in this aspect. I truthfully thought that when we got to the airport, we?d drag our suitcases around the corner and then ta da, we?ll be at the hotel. This is my own fault...

Comfort Inn - I don't think so!!!!!!

Advantages: Cheap room with breakfast in City Centre location
Disadvantages: Dated decoration, not very well cleaned, noisy

...much on one nights accommodation as once you add it to the price of the hotel rooms you start getting to the £80/£90 mark. After much deliberating we decided on the Comfort Inn in Bishopsgate which is located pretty centrally within a stones throw of Leeds train station and the hustle and bustle of the main shopping areas too. The room was priced at £59 for bed and breakfast, which we felt was very reasonable and we decided to park our car at a friends house who lives just outside of the city centre and then get the bus into Leeds to save on parking fees. Another plus point of the hotel other than the location was the fact that they provided breakfast as most places only seemed to provide accommodation on a room only basis. No 'Hip Hip Ouray' for the Comfort Inn

Advantages: Good rooms, well furnished and clean
Disadvantages: Service is poor and very very slow

Our fourth night away saw us return to the tiny town of Ouray where we had stayed just a couple of nights earlier in another budget hotel called the Ouray Chalet Inn. Comfort Inn, Hershey PA - Comfort at a Price

Advantages: Big beds, located near Hershey Park, Pennsylvania
Disadvantages: VERY, VERY overpriced

....21 POUNDS (the website helpfully converts into whatever currency you request – it tells me that the price quoted is based on an exchange rate of 0.63402), plus taxes of 9%. Would I recommend the Comfort Inn in Hershey, Pennsylvania? If you can get a good deal through Priceline or some other cheap clearing house, yes; I would. I’d happily pay, say, $100 per room per night to stay there. But at $239.50 (including a phone call)? I could get, if I shopped carefully, a fine hotel in New York for that. Keep in mind also that Hershey Pennsylvania is pretty much in the middle of nowhere. It’s near Harrisburg, which is the State capital, but not the biggest city, and it’s near Hershey. And really…that’s it. There are a lot of corn fields and dairies, if that’s your cup of milky tea. Unless...

My home away from home

Short Break - Holiday Inn York

Advantages: Location, accessability, breakfasts
Disadvantages: Hidden hair dryer!

...My wife and I spent 3 nights in this Holiday Inn in January 2008. It is on the outskirtds of York and easy to find/get to. The room was good and despite facing the main road there was no problem with noise, etc.. It was a good size, clean and tidy with a nice ensuite, tea/coffee facilities. The hair dryer for some reason hides in a drawer but once found was better than the astmatic ones you sometimes get! The breakfasts were good, (buffet style). Good choice (hot and cold), good quality and you can helps yourself to ample quantities! We did not eat any other meals there though they are avaliable. Parking is good with lots of spaces to the front, side and round the back. The staff were friendly and helpful. In the foyer there are lots of leaflets avaliable of local places of interest. The hotel is handy...
