Another 'trailer' told of a group of teenagers who had HIV, and it made you realise how lonely they are. Most of them had lost their parents also. (Both stories in this country). The Comic Guru Lives Up To The Name!

Advantages: Good range of products. Friendly, helpful staff. Reasonable prices.
Disadvantages: Sometimes the pictures don't load on the website.

...I love comics and collectables. Unlike a lot of people this is not an obsession that stems from childhood, well not really. I got The Nightmare Before Christmas on VHS when I was about 11 and I got really hooked on it. I loved the [stop-motion] animation and the way everything was dark. That carried through and when I was older I realised that it was a Tim Burton film and I got really into him for a while and from there I have discovered a whole world of creepy, mad things and two of those things are comics and collectables. Now we're not talking the Beano or My Little Pony but things like Lenore and Squee. Comic Inferno, ~~~~~~~~~ The book begins be introducing us to 2 main characters, January Birdlip and Freddie freud. They run a book publishing firm. But with the cities being mostly empty and the human race scattered amongst the planets exactly who they sell to is a mystery. In this story there is a distinctive difference between Robots and Romen. But the difference was still unclear at the end of the story. It caused quite a bit of confusion over the initial 20 pages. Freddie likes to whip his roman with a whip over his desk which of course has no effect on the metal body what so ever. Comic Relief without the Comics it Seems

...When Lenny Henry first started Comic Relief, it was I understood a way of raising money through comedy turns etc. Unfortunately I think some of the comedy has left Comic Relief. A considerable number of celebrities have indeed been involved over the years - including John Cleese, Billy Connolly, Whoopie Goldberg, Ruby Wax, Dawn French, etc etc etc. It was a fantastic idea and has raised a huge amount of money ALL of which I believe goes to help children in particularly in the UK and abroad. There is no doubt that so many lives have been improved and people helped by the work of the charity itself. Basically there are various "turns" and sketches on the main Friday night show, which has several presenters throughout the evening. DC comics. A very broad review.

Advantages: A whole universe of stories.
Disadvantages: Fairly expensive on a "pound per hours reading" level.

...I have bought and read comics for many years now. My interest has always been in the more fantastical elements of the comics. Stories which couldn't happen in the real world, but still examine an aspect of humanity through a science-fiction lens. I have also enjoyed the various art styles over the years. Some of the work (particularly the work of Alex Ross on Batman) is truly stunning. DC certainly offers comics to meet my requirements, however if the superhero comic (by which I mean heroes with powers rather than the more gritty Batman line) is more to your taste then this is offered too. They produce some very interesting reads and if you've never read a comic before then I truly recommend that you look at some of their titles. Comic Relief this definitely is!

Advantages: Great characters, hilarious scripts, fab guest stars
Disadvantages: Only 35 minutes!

...Catherine Tate, I think, is one of the world's most funny female comedians, and hit the big time with her self titled comedy show The Catherine Tate Show. It began on BBC2 in 2004, and was an instant hit, so much so that she was invited to perform at the Royal Variety Performance as her most known character Lauren Cooper. She also made an appearance at Comic Relief of 2006, and I think it was the success of this, and her second series, which led to the commission of her inclusion in Comic Relief 2007, to a much larger degree than before! Advantages: Funny, moving, entertaining

...I am no longer a Comic Relief virgin. I am slightly ashamed to admist that last night was the first time I watched it, and I am so glad I did. Even though I went to bed around midnight my husband taped the rest of the show for me and I watched it this morning. It was an excellent show and raised a staggering amount of money (around £22 million - although that total is set to double). The comedy was brilliany, my favourite clips were the top 50 comedy moments and parts of Graham Norton (who I have never watched before). Big Brother was superb, I have watched avidly all week and I was so glad that Jack Dee won (as I voted for him to win).
