Disadvantages: Produces a LOT of heat, dated design

...The compaq Evo N610c is now an aging machine but still manages to handle the everyday tasks of a home-user or light business user. Compaq have developed a solid base system in this laptop which has multiple configuration options so that it can adapt to the needs of most users. Another featured pack with 14.1"

Advantages: latest featured notebook with DDR3 RAM
Disadvantages: 6 cell battery

...Samsung P460 Samsung is rocking with its latest P series notebooks with highly configured features and latest technology. Earlier I have reviewed 15.4" series P560 which also was loaded with good features and now in this series I have chose another popular 14.1" screen size laptop. *** I will discuss here good features of this laptop and its advantages as well as disadvantages also. First of all I always use to keep write on processor and here also a good processor we can have. The time is now for multicore processor and kipping this tradition on Samsung has provided, Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 with clock speed of 2.4 GHz and front size bus speed is 1066 MHz, Another point that should be consider in processor is its L2 cache size and in this processor it has 3MN of L2 cache size, front size bus speed and L2 cache are common in both...

Review of Samsung P460 Core 2 Duo P7350 2 GHz - 14.1" TFT

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.5 GHz - 17" TFT

Advantages: nice screen, good battery life, fast specs
Disadvantages: large size (price?)

...Apple mac-books, where to start... ok, so to start, it is an apple, that means you get a solid quality product and on the whole very good customer are. this particualar apple is deffinatly more suited to being a media center than other laptops. At first glance you realise that it is a fairly large laptop, this allows for a big screen, which being an apple ffers clear vivid displays, unfortunatly the big screen increases the overal size and also uses more battery, however, the 4.5 hour yattery is still very good for an entertainment laptop. The laptops technical specs include a very fast 2.5 ghz dual core proccesor which is very fast, the dual core allows it to tackle multiple tasks quicly as well as increasing the overall speed of the laptop. The price is quite steep however, but i believe, if given the money, it is...

Compaq Evo N600c little soldier!

Advantages: Durable, loads of fixes on the hp site, quite nifty for its age
Disadvantages: just getting on a bit

...disk can be removed without removing the chasis etc etc. With a simple cooling system (As in one way) cleaning the gunk out of the cooling passages is easy with a domestic vaccum. It boasts quite a few specifications, which still sound ok, even though its massively out of date: * Mobile Intel Pentium III-M 1.2 GHz processor * 14.1-inch SXGA+ or 14.1-inch XGA display * 4.8 lb/2.2 kg weight * 256-MB (133 MHz), upgradeable to 1024 MB * Up to 40-GB SMART hard drive * 32 MB graphics intergrated * User removable hard drive * Mini PCI modem and integrated NIC * Full-size keyboard * Infra Red unit fixed on the front * Over 3.5 hours of battery life (Normal conditions) * Magnesium display enclosure * Common docking solutions across Armada E and M and most Evo series notebooks...

HP Compaq Evo n600c

Advantages: CHEAP, well styled, good for travelling
Disadvantages: bit old, without maintanance can become slow.

...I am writing this review to inform the good people that good things in life can come cheap, my n600c is the best purchase of my life so far. As i got this laptop for about 80 pounds i decided to upgrade it with some more RAM at the moment im running an Intel Pentium III m and Microsoft XP with 767mb RAM. the total cost of this laptop with upgrades was 110 pounds, considering this has nearly 1GB of RAM it is perfect for browsing the web and is very well at doing basic functions, Browsing the web is very fast and with the right browser and settings multi tasking is very good considering it has a singular core. The speed for the specs overall is good, the sound and video card are not spectacular but obviously can still play music and video at a basic level (youtube, itunes etc) it is great for going anywhere, its relatively small...

Apple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.26 GHz - 13.3" TFT - excellent!

Advantages: portable, runs very fast, large storage with TimeMachine application for backing up your work
Disadvantages: some problems with using Safari, though this may be due to the wireless network I am using, costs!

...In my opinion, the Apple Macbook Pro is an ideal laptop. As a student, I find that it meets all my needs - I can store plenty of music, photos etc even though I bought the cheapest one with the smallest memory. The system operates very fast and comes with both Firefox and Safari. My only criticism is that it only comes with textedit and so you have to buy iWorks for around £65. However, despite this it is good value for money and I don't regret spending my 2 years worth of part-time earnings on it! It has everything I want from a laptop and is ideally portable and good for watching films despite the smaller screen size. Another feature I particularly liked was that it has a light up keyboard for when you are in darker rooms - you can adjust the brightness of the keyboard the same as you can for the screen. Looks very impressive! It is...

HP Compaq Business Notebook 6530b

Advantages: its fast, stylish and very portable
Disadvantages: could be smaller for portability

...day. Another great thing about this is the sheer size of the storage space inside. The Eee PC hardly had any on the basic model and so carrying about a spare memory stick was pretty much essential. This Hp Business Compaq will certainly not require any more space though as its got a impressive 160 gb already built in. The small size of the notebook isn’t sacrificing speeds either as it will still reach 5400 rpm, the average of the normal sized laptops too. The screen size isn’t that small either, so its not limiting your workability. It offers a 14.1 TFT display and is a good quality screen with a good 1280 x 800 resolution. The only thing that let down some of HP’s other notebooks was the battery life, however this one doesn’t at all. It offers a fantastic 6.25 hours which is well up there with some...

Compaq Evo N800 lasts and lasts and lasts

Advantages: Reliable, Durable, Great display, Portable desktop
Disadvantages: None

...Nearly 4 years ago I bought myself my first well known laptop after 3 lots of non branded ones. There is a world of difference and with careful selection I ended up with the Compaq Evo N800. What a break that turned out to be. First things first - the screen is superb with top laptop resolution rather than the crappy max of 1280xnothing offered by most other models out there even today. 1400 x 1050 gives too small a font some might say. Load of rubbish. This screen has the best viewability I've ever witnessed by which I mean that it's easily readable from any angle in front of the screen. No, it's not widescreen but don't let that put you off. Battery time is a solid 2-3 hours depending on activity and even after 4 years of the same battery it's still the same. Layout of ports etc is pretty standard and the only thing...

So small easy 2 use

Advantages: Small, nice to use, adequate for most office use
Disadvantages: Fan spins up now and then, faster cpu wouldnt hurt

...is small. It is very quiet, near silent until the fan spins up every 20 minutes to regulate cooling on mine. upgrade path is limited to more hard drive space and more RAM. the 256mb models would have one slot left for another RAM stick. This thing can be upgraded to 1 gb of RAM which is really nice for an old laptop. The cpu is more than adequete for what i use the laptop for. Office use and internet is a pleasure on the compaq evo because of its lightweight mobility. I just love it when people ask me, is that a new vaio in your hands when its closed, i tell them no its a compaq evo i bought for £150 and everyones amazed at the size of the thing for its age. And it isnt comprosed on performance as its specs match bigger models from other brands of its time. like i said, its just fine with Office work and internet. The screen is...
