The ideal solution
Review of Compaq Evo Thin Client T20 - Geode GX1 300 MHz by
benjamin15
Advantages: All users can have up to date software
Disadvantages: It has an low power usuage
...What is it?
A “thin client” is a device that enables all applications to be run from a single server instead of the applications been run from the individual persons computer. Compaq evo thin client T20 otherwise known as the “thin client” for people in the trade. Compaq evo is a Microsoft based terminal, which means it has the ability to connect over a network to an operating system (server) which has a citrix metaframe software operating.
Thin client enables the server to control all applications, processing and storage. This means all applications are run from a single server, thus the thin client is used to process keyboard input and screen output, and hence is where the users applications and folders stay.
Experience
The experience I have had with Compaq evo thin client T20 is that they are relatively...

Compaq's are very reliable.
Review of Compaq Deskpro EN Space Saver - PIII 933 MHz by
Snowman99
Advantages: Good Solid reliable computer
Disadvantages: Fiddly to upgrade the memory or hard drive.
...I run a charity that gives computers to disabled peole. Mostly, I have had Compaq computers donated to me for this project and I can honestly say that they are about 99% reliable.
Of the over 300+ computers donated so far,270+ have been Deskpro EN series, and I have only had 3 callbacks for problems on the units.Normally a plug I hadn't pushed in properly. All the other have proved to be no problem at all.
I myself use a Deskpro EN at home, and it has worked flawlessly for over 1.5 years, and its on 24 hours a day. It is also the server for a local LAN in my house, and is the master for Internet connection sharing. Faultless in operation, I would not hesitate to recommend this marque to anybody looking for a reliable unit.
Any business looking for long term reliability, and a good strong workhorse should definately consider a Compaq...

Compaq Presario PC's
Review of Compaq Presario 7477 - K6-2 by
stuckster
Advantages: It is a high quality brand and very fast
Disadvantages: The grffics card sometimes finds it hard to cope
...When looking for a PC I knew that it had to have a high specification to be able to keep up with the fast moving market. When finding a Compaq
with such good specification and not a huge price tag I was highly surprised. Its well known that Compaq are one of the best computer manufacturers in the world, and its good to know that you are buying something that is reliable.
I managed to pick up my Compaq Presario in the PC world sale. I paid £1150 for it and managed to save £300. Its got a 900mhz processor and the pc makes full use of it. It make suse of the 64mb of RAM, this much RAM isn't excellent but it is satisfactorty and is upgradable. I was very pleased that it came with a DVD player and a CD ReWriter. This is excellent as copying CD's is very useful, and is very easy to do as the software is pre-loaded and guides you through...

HP Office Paper - I know, I know, a boring topic
Review of HP Office Paper - plain paper - 500 sheet(s) by
thespurs
Advantages: Cheap, good enough quality
Disadvantages: None
...thin, but for economy paper it is actually very thick. The list price per ream is around £3.49, although if you buy four or more, the price comes down to around £3.00. This is a bargain, because most economy paper costs the same amount but you don't get the same gsm, this paper is much higher.
--Conclusion--
If you work in an office or from home, or you do a lot of printing in your household then I would certainly reccomend this. It works out at just over half a penny per sheet if you buy a single ream, so a little bit of wastage won't dent you pocket. On the same theme, if you print out your work and there are some spelling mistakes, presentation errors or the wording is incorrect then you won't have wasted your quality paper. You can always rely on Hewlett Packard products to be good and this paper just further backs that up....

laptop for portability
Review of HP Compaq Business Notebook nc8430 - Core Duo T2500 2 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
techno_man_37
Advantages: its very portable
Disadvantages: price and lack of ram and hard drive
..., it means you wont really feel all that weigh on your shoulder if you do have to carry it around with you all day.
The real reason why it’s a great portable laptop is its battery life though, it can last 4 hours and that’s because of its 8 cell lithium battery. This has two more than most laptops have which means it can last a lot longer than most.
Because this laptop is made for business men, it comes with windows vista business, this means it also comes with some extra features and software you wouldn’t get with other editions of vista. You’ll get Intervideo WinDVD, HP Quick Launch Button Software, HP ProtectTools Security Manager, HP Client Manager Software (free download), HP Help and Support, HP Wireless Assistant, Synaptics Touchpad Driver, Norton Internet Security (60 days subscription), HP Backup and Recovery...

The Bluetooth on this device is also useful as there are no wires around or in your way. You simply connect any peripheral such as a Bluetooth enables headset or even a keyboard to the iPAQ. This is relatively new on the iPAQ using HP Smart connector which enables this unique business solution.

Not bad
Review of HP Vectra VLi8 - PII 400 MHz by
pault
Advantages: good system
Disadvantages: not very good monitors
...HP is a very good brand, so a director of my company decided to by some of them.
Our company uses HP's products for 2 years and we see that we didn't mistake choosng HP Vectra.
But in our computers after 2 years of using we have to repare monitors.
Personally me use HP Vectra VL with P2-233 Mh in my office. Thou there are many faster processors, but this one is not worth than modern computers.
There is a coupl words about design - it is very good, so there are no problems to put it in any place.
I hope that HP will keep constructing so nice computers and we will use them for many years....

A little Gem
Review of Compaq Evo D500 - P4 1.6 GHz by
weirdstop
Advantages: quiet and fast
Disadvantages: none
...I'd always built my own computers in the past so when it was time for an upgrade I started looking around for more parts.
I tended to stay clear of pre made up computers as there were always bits in them that were either A- not good enough or B- I wouldnt need at all. Besides, mosts companies used to fill them so full of thier own junky software it slowed them down!
So when hubby suggested a compaq I was a bit dubious.
A couple of weeks later he bought me a second hand Evo D500. I looked at the Specs and it was way better than my old box of bones. 512 of ram , a nice p4 1.6 chip 20gig hard drive and a cd rom.... nice
The first thing I did was strip it of its case- (i love taking things apart) to find out how easy it would be to add my essential bits and bobs.
The case came apart very easily. It had been fitted with thumb screws...
