My good old Compaq Presario 2200

Advantages: Durability

...I am the proud owner of a Presario 2200. I purchased it six years ago for a price of PDS600.00. Mine is totally black in colour including the monitor and keyboard and equipped with a Cyrix 166 Processor, 16 MB RAM and 1.2 GB Hard Drive. About a year ago I increased the RAM to 32 MB and the Hard Drive to 2 GB. Many a time I thought of changing this machine for a new one with more specicifications and higher performance levels. However one of my friends is a computer technician and he advised me then that these older models are by far better than the ones out today. Not in specs but in durability. They don't make them now like they used to make them. All makers including Compaq are trying to cut corners with the stiff competition nowadays. Parts are being made more and more in China, Malaysia and other third world countries...

Compaq Presario CQ60-212EM: Compaq Presario CQ60

Advantages: Excellent Value for Money; Will suit most users' needs
Disadvantages: Battery Life is Poor ; Heavy

...The Compaq Presario CQ60 has proved to be very good value for money. I paid £380 in January '09 and it has worked perfectly since. The wireless has a good range and the screen quality is outstanding. Everything else works how it should and the only real negative is a not-so-great battery life (approx 2 hrs on power saver). All in all, good for games (mine has a separate graphics card - not sure if standard?), word processing, internet and general use. One thing I particularly like is the larger screen size that results from having an integrated number pad on the keyboard. However the larger size does result in a heavy laptop. As of yet I have had no technical issues what so ever with this laptop and I would most definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a laptop on a budget! Hope this was of some help! Well ok I thick I am going to start with the Bad news. Well really it is all good except this little bit that I think is bad about this laptop. Unfortunately this laptops six-cell battery and only ran for only 3 hours, 7 minutes on a charge. That is the only bit I fort was a bit bad well I thick and hope you can live with it. Good Laptop for basic use

Advantages: Good basic laptop for internet use, youtube, and word processing
Disadvantages: quite heavy and not as easy to carry around.

...This is a good laptop that I purchased from Tesco for £299.00, so far it has proved to be a good machine and I am certainly very happy with it. It's easy to set up - just turn it on and follow the on screen instructions. It does take about half an hour though before its set up and ready to use. I have found the laptop to be fairly fast, its great for internet browsing and youtube, I have also loaded a couple of games onto it and they run nicely, although its worth noting that this isn't really a gaming laptop! I mostly enjoy it for the internet, it is reliable and allows me to do word processing too. For the same price I could have purchased a fairly good netbook, however, I chose to go for this as it came with the Windows Vista operating System (most netbooks come with XP) and it was slightly better when it came to specifications...
