ASDA Beech effect PC Trolley / Computer Desk

Advantages: nice looking, easy to setup and cheap
Disadvantages: either chip board or mdf

...Have been looking around for a PC desk recently and needed something small but big enough for the usual PC equipment. Was going to buy a 2nd hand one until I seen this in ASDA and decided to buy it. At £27 give or take a few pence I grabbed it and thought I'd take a chance and I'm glad I did. The PC desk has top shelf for monitor, middle shelf for keyboard, lower middle shelf for printer/scanner etc and a base shelf for whatever you want. Where does the PC unit go your thinking ! The desk has a side metal shelf that can be fitted either site for the desk that a tower case can fit. But I have a desktop case !!! I hear you say, no matter the base unit will fit on the bottom shelf and you can do away with the metal side shelf or use it as magazine/paper storage. The desk itself has 4 wheels and the 2 front are locking...

ASUS EEE PC 701 - Small but perfectly formed

...This review looks at one of many netbooks to be released in the UK over the past few months, ASUS's EEE PC 701 SD. The model I have is fitted with Windows XP and has an 8Gb hard drive. I bought it on special offer for £155. Appearance The 701SD is absolutely tiny. It weighs around a kilogram and is roughly the same size as a hardback reading book when in the closed position. It comes in a neat box along with instructions,a mains charger, a protective case and a system CD. It has a 7 inch screen which is absolutely tiny but is still perfectly functional. The unit has three USB sockets, headphone and microphone jacks, and SD memory card slot, a small webcam above the screen and a microphone positioned just underneath the keyboard. Sexy little scandinavian model...

...Having recently re-arranged our bedroom my fiancé and I decided that a change in computer housing was required in order that it didn’t take up as much space as the present desk did, that and we were fed up with looking at the same huge unsightly dust collector. So we decided that instead of having everything on show for all and sundry to view we opted for a small, easy to assemble pine DIY desk from one of my favourite shops – Argos, as the plan was to hide it all away neatly in the built in bedroom cupboard. This would also have the added benefit that when our dear PC decides to crash, losing your last 3 hours of hard graft you could simply shut the door and walk away without so much temptation to disconnect it and propel through the nearest window. ...commission for sales. Now, in terms of after sales service, I have seen long queues at the Tech Guys and Customer Service desk (it?s the same desk along with Collect @ Store point). There seems to only be one and at most, two staff members dealing with customers there, which is a bit annoying. At times, even when I?m only there to collect and pay for a reserved item, I?ve had to queue for a long time. Occasionally, I?ve seen some disgruntled customers with PC and laptop issues but I personally fix my own computers so have not used their Tech Guys service so can?t say how good or bad that is. Returning items is possible if items are unopened and unused. ...The ASUS EEE PC 701 model is an extremely affordable, small and portable netbook with a 7" screen and built in wifi card designed primarily for internet use. The standard model comes with a built in 2 gigabyte solid state hard drive and comes in a variety of colours and finishes ranging from matt white through to pastel pink. The desktop computer arrived on the 30/12/2008 by DHL courier service. The box was in good condition and I signed for the goods.
