Hansol 710A (17-inch) CRT Monitor

Advantages: A solid monitor that should last well.
Disadvantages: Older model. Depends on required resolution.

...-tuning you can set up the display as you like. **Annoyances:** I already said this monitor could be somewhat blurry. Probably due to the extent of use of this monitor and a few long distance car rides, it has begun to show the odd flicker once or twice a day. I found this monitor to be rather dark (especially in games, but also a problem for digital photos, etc) and tried tweaking the settings for my graphics card gamma / brightness to fix this. I also use a freeware program called QuickGamma ( http://www.quickgamma.de/indexen.html ) to help get the brightness just right (make sure you read its help file for instructions, as it is confusing otherwise) - it runs each time the computer starts to apply the changes, but then exits so it consumes no resources. **Support:** When I bought my monitor, hansol were offering a good warranty...

Hansol H550 TFT LCD Monitor

Advantages: Slim, Handles fast moving Graphics Perfectly
Disadvantages: Does not have a Digital Connection Socket (DVI)

...I purchased my Hansol H550 TFT LCD Monitor back in September 2003 and paid around £220 for it. I have always used CRT based monitors before and now having experienced LCD monitors, I wouldn?t turn back. The Hansol H550 in my experience has an excellent display, with a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 @ 75mhz. It has a 15? screen and because it is a TFT LCD Monitor you actually get to see the full 15? of screen, whereas on CRT based monitors you only usually get 13.2 ? 13.8? viewable. Built into the monitor are two speakers, which are place directly under the screen in the bottom left and right hand corners. This monitor is available in 3 colours, mine being the standard PC white/cream with silver control panel. It is also available in Black or in Silver. The control panel functions are easy to use, with Mute, Menu/Exit, Auto...

Excellent Monitor from Hansol

Advantages: Stable, great display
Disadvantages: Not LCD

...I have had this monitor for over 4 years cause my last monitor went burst! Over the 4 years nothing has went wrong with it. ITs an excellent monitor. If comes with degauss function, language functions and the normal resizing options. Its a great Plug and Play Monitor. I have used it with Windows 98, ME, 2000 and XP all of which do not need the drivers disk at all as Windows just finds the drivers itself from its drivers database. Features of this monitor include: ? 17" tube (16" viewable area) ? 0.25mm dot pitch ? 5 language on screen display ? Maximum resolution 1280 x 1024 @ 60Hz ? Optimum resolution 1024 x 768 @ 85Hz ? Plug and play compatibility under Windows ? PC & Mac compatible (adapter required) ? TCO99 Standard When buying this monitor new it will come with a 2-3 year replacement warranty. The price I paid...

Get your hans on a Hansol

Advantages: lovely picture, one of the cheapest 15" monitors around
Disadvantages: only has a maximum resolution of 1024x768 however this is fine for allbut everyone

...Well it was quite an eye opener for me to see this monitor displaying its picture. Myself going along using dodgy 14" monitors for so long I didnt realise what strides had been made in the monitor industry. Lets just say the Hansol 500A was quite an improvement on my yellowing 14" Fujitsu ErgoPro. Also the monitor has low heat output so its not quite up there with Cheese's 14" Compaq, which apart from being the size of a small house, can double as your heater for the winter. Overall this is a lovely budget monitor with it certainly not being the most expensive on the market so on this monitor I wholeheartedly reccommend Hansol monitors to you all. Incidentally as is standard with 15" monitors, it has a 13.8" viewable area. This is definitely the monitor to go for if you want a brand new monitor and your working on a budget....

I'll have a Hansol 710P please, Bob

Advantages: Nice, crisp picture and good price (if you shop around)
Disadvantages: It is large (well it's a 17" screen) so make sure you have the space

...quality to the CAD monitors I have used in my work. It's very crisp indeed and is (in my eyes) virtually flicker free. Hansol 710P Main Features: • 17" screen (with 16" actual viewing screen area) • Maximum resolution 1600 x 1200 (runs at 75Hz) • 0.26mm dot pitch • 5 languages in the on screen display (OSD) • “Degauss” function which eliminates the build-up of magnetic fields • Fully Windows 95, 98 and ME compatible • PC and Mac compatible (adapter needed for Mac) • Three year on site warranty Most of the other 17” monitors on the market right now will not give the display capabilities available here. I found most at this price range (£150 to £200) offer a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1040 with a dot pitch of 0.27mm at best. Essentially this lower dot pitch...

Hansol 920P, Great low-end 19" Monitor

Advantages: Great price, high screen resolution
Disadvantages: Very reflective.

...This monitor really is excellent, especially for the price. The only downside being the lack of glare reduction. The manufacturer's specification says it can only go up to a resolution of 1600x1200, and if you use the supplied drivers that's all it will do. However if you set it up in Windows as a "Default Monitor" then you have access to the full range of resolutions. It can do upto 2048x1536, however when I do this I get a white line down the side of the screen, so I don't think it's recommendable. I have it running perfectly comfortably at 1920x1440 however and don't have the slightest problem. The only draw back in this is I'm only able to have a refresh frequency of 60Hz, whereas at 1600x1200 I can have 75Hz. But personally I can't really tell the difference. There's a nice onscreen display for adjusting various options...

Handsome Hansol

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, very cheap, simple to install
Disadvantages: Slightly bulky

...I bought this monitor about two years ago from an online PC store, after trawling around on the internet and visiting PC stores for a good deal. The first thing to say is that this monitor is a bargain - if my memory serves me correctly I paid 89.99GBP for it, and it is probably even cheaper now. It is a standard 17inch monitor, with a 16inch viewable area. Although not a flat screen, the picture quality is as good as some (albeit low-end) flat screens I have seen. It is on the large side, 41.5 cm x 44 cm x 41.5 cm, and weighing in at about 15 kilos. Roughly the same as a portable TV, really. Installation is easy, just plug'n'play. I have changed computers whilst I have had this monitor, and no problems with either installation. On Windows 98, ME and 2000NT I haven't even needed to use the supplied driver disk. I imagine XP...

My Hansome Hansol!

Advantages: This has to be one of the smartest flat screens around!
Disadvantages: Only a 15inch screen!

...I bought my Hansol H550 from a computer fair in ESSEX for £210, this is a really great price for this quality screen, and I recommend that anyone who is considering buying a screen in particular for their computer, then popping along to a computer fair is a great way to check out the bargains. Not only this, the people who run stalls at the computer fairs know exactly what they are talking about, and for someone like myself who wasn't entirely sure what I was after will certainly find it beneficial to chat to one of the guys there. Another tip is, if you buy more than one thing from a trader at a fair, it is quite acceptable to haggle for a discount, it is expected and can be very generous discounts, its worth a try! This screen enables me to watch DVD's and films that I download from the internet on my computer, as the screen copes...

Cat Eye Vectra computer

Advantages: Simple to use, sturdy and reliable, great value for money
Disadvantages: A pain to set up

...require so I bought one. As with all my Evans purchases to date the transaction was very easy, smooth and the delivery took a couple of days. In the box you get the display unit, the sensor, the magnet, cable ties and backing plates and fitting/operation instructions. The instructions booklet was exceptionally thick and I naturally thoguht that it was going to be a bit of a mission. However, closer inspection highlighted that the instructions were in English, Spanish, German, Chinese, Turkish etc etc. You name the language and I bet that it is on there! Fitting the computer was an easy task. The sensor was cable tied to the forks, the display unit was cable tied to the stem and the magnet was screwed on to one of the spokes - ensuring that it passed the sensor on the forks. It took 5 minutes. Setting the computer up to work was...

Angelcare Monitor

Advantages: Peace of mind.
Disadvantages: Remember to turn off when lifting baby out of cot

...I knew from the outset that i would be one of those paranoid mum's constantly worrying about my baby & wondering if he was still breathing through the night, so I invested in the Angelcare monitor with movement sensor mat. The set includes a 'baby unit', 'parent unit' & movement sensor mat. The mat is placed under baby's mattress (if like mine, the base of the cot is slatted, or you're using it in such a moses basket, then you will need to place the mat on a firm surface such as a piece of plywood under the mattress), & is so sensitive that it can detect even the lightest of breathing. The mat connects to the baby unit which then transmits to the parent unit. If no movement (yes, even light breathing counts as movement) is detected for 20 seconds, an alarm sounds on both the baby & parent units, enabling time to get to your baby...
