We went for the condenser type because there is no need for a vent to the out side, which up here in the north west of Scotland is the last thing you want during a winter gale, believe me! OPERATION.. The controls for the dryer are easy to understand and operate, the timer is settable up to 120 mins and is clearly marked. The heat setting is a 'push in/out' type with two options, low or high. There is a light that comes on when you need to empty the water bottle, but more about that latter on. Vinyl Dryer Balls Make Me Itch

...I bought myself two dryer balls after my daughter recommended them to me. They are supposed to soften fabrics and shorten drying time in the tumbler dryer and the two I bought were pink and blue and cost £1.99 from Amazon. These are hard, spiky balls that make an awful racket as they go round inside the tumbler dryer. The spikes are supposed to ?agitate? the fabric and soften it. To be honest I noticed very little difference between drying with these in the drum and leaving them out. I still prefer to use dryer sheets which give everything a softness and have a nice smell as well. HOTPOINT 7KG CONDENSER TUMBLE DRYER

...My husband and I bought this condenser when we were moving into our new house - previously we had a tumble dryer with a hose but in our new house there was no actual space for the tumble dryer so we had to take a cupboard out for it and it wasn't very practical to have a hose running across the middle of the kitchen to the window!! Ciao gave me some ideas from reviews and I short listed several makes/models including a Zanussi - a make that I have never bought before as I was put off by the name (don't ask me why, the name never appealed!)
