Genghis Khan has invaided Brighton

Advantages: you choose the food you want cooked, food for vegies aswell
Disadvantages: .

...I put Genghis Khans into the Thai section as i belive that this was the closet section that describes it. the food there i would say is South-East Asian. So Where is Genghis Khans? ----------------------------- The restaurant is located in the Laines in Middle Street. what Food is there? --------------------- The food is located in the centre of the restaurant. The meat consisted of Beef, Pork, Chicken, and some seafood, prawns etc. At one end of the food there are a variety of stocks to choose depending on whether you have red or white meat or seafood. On the opposite side to the meats is a selection of curry pastes and powders. the pastes to choose from are to name a few Thai Green Curry and Thai Curry (what the difference is I do not no). The powders, the only one I can remember was Vindaloo. Noodles are also available...

Review of Genghis Khans, Brighton

I'll Tell You Who Genghis Khan Was-- Really!

Advantages: fascinating; well--researched; easy to read
Disadvantages: how Genghis Khan has been vilified by many

...We could very possibly still be stuck in the primitive world of the Middle Ages if it hadn't been for the phenomenal brilliance, peace-seeking ambition and global vision of the nomadic, illiterate man who grew up with the name of Temujin and later came to be known as Genghis or Chingiss Khan. Surrounded by loving family and friends, he died in his bed at almost 70 years of age and immediately one of the mourners had his life story written down. The manuscript, known as The Secret History Of The Mongols, was discovered in the nineteenth century in Beijing, which now sits where Genghis Khan's capital city Zongdu was built. Countless scholars around the world have tried to decipher it and one did for the Germans during WW11, but the translation was luckily destroyed in transit. Then when Communism collapsed in 1990 and Soviet...

Genghis Strikes Back At The Chin

Advantages: Another very addictive book from Iggulden, great characters and description
Disadvantages: You will need to read the previous book first

...Having taken back his father's tribe Temujin of the Wolves has now become Genghis Khan and unites the tribes of all the Mongolian factions. As one he now plans to strike back at the Chin emperor's who have for years tried to keep the Mongolians divided and fighting amongst themselves. Now as one the Mongolian Khan leads his people into battle against the Xi Xia and the Chin forces in order to seek revenge for the years of torment and tyranny they have suffered under their closest neighbours. This is the second book in the latest series from historical fiction author Conn Iggulden. It follows on from Wolf of The Plains and see's Iggulden pick up the story of Genghis Khan where he left off at the end of the last book. As the follow up series to Emperor I was still wondering what to expect from this second book in the Conqueror series...

The Rise to Power

Advantages: good story, excellent acting, scenery and music
Disadvantages: bloody battle scenes and subtitles may not appeal to all

...get taken prisoner by the Khan who wants him dead but a very elderly man feeds him and looks after him and eventually helps him to escape. Temudgin is now a man and has returned to find his bride but will she still be waiting for him and now Temudgin had followers can he defeat the Khan before he kills him and how much can Temudgin endure to return the Mongols to their true beliefs and way of life? This film was certainly not my choice and for me it sounded boring and not at all interesting. Did have a shock when the film started as it was subtitled and I thought that this would make me hate it even more but for me it gave it a nice authenticity as if the Mongols would have spoken English then I don?t think it would have worked so well. I do not know much about Genghis Khan so for me this film was very informative and I did actually...

Omar Khan's? It's OK

Advantages: Good central location, pleasant surroundings, tasty food at good prices
Disadvantages: Service a little slow at times, average for Bradford

...Omar Khan's is a fairly traditional Indian restaurant situated in the centre of Bradford. We were in town for a weekend of curry and had eaten lunch that day at a very modern establishment so I wanted to go for the more traditional British "curry house" in the evening. I found Omar Khan's listed on the Visit Bradford website and a look at the restaurants own website was encouraging. The restaurant is situated on the south side of the city centre, beside the national Television and Media Museum and the Alhambra Theatre. The restaurant has a small car-park but there are other car-parks nearby and it's a five minute walk to the train and bus stations at Bradford Interchange. It wasn't immediately obvious where the main entrance was as we approached the building from the side and climbed up a small flight of steep steps. The initial...

Feeding Genghis Khan

Advantages: Color, life, and amusing aerial dogfights in your garden
Disadvantages: Absolutely none!

...at feeder #1 until #2 came along and attacked. #2 would chase #1 away and feed at feeder #2, until #1 - or was it #3? - returned and drove him away. These little pigs actually went back and forth between the feeders, claiming both, when no one else was around. They may be lovely little flying jewels, but they have the collective soul of Genghis Khan. Nasty little buggers. My casual interest grew into somewhat more than that but less than a full-on obsession. And my collection of nectar feeders grew, as I attempted to ensure enough to stop the fighting. Hah! I may as well have tried to stop the Gottis from whacking the Gambinos. Ounce for ounce, hummingbirds have got to be the most territorial and aggressive creatures on God's green earth. So here's what I learned about feeding them. First and most important: Don?t begin feeding...

Mongol - The life of a renowned world ruler

Advantages: Decent story and performances
Disadvantages: Slow

...Mongol, nominated in the foreign film category at the Oscars is a film about the Mongolian leader Genghis Khan. Making such a film is a hard job since it depends so much on history and recreating that period and ambience is not the easiest. The film starts off with a small Genghis khan riding with his dad to choose a bride. These sequences will educate the audience of the customs of the tribe, and it is the lifestyles of the specific tribes that make period films fascinating to watch. The story gets intense when his dad is murdered and their kingdom being attacked by a different tribe which threatens to eradicate them. What follows is an illustrious life, full of struggle and drama. He is imprisoned at various stages of life and returns to find his chosen wife after many years. The love story plays a significant role here, playing as...

Review of Mongol - The Rise To Power Of Genghis Khan (DVD)

The Wrath of Khan

Advantages: It has humour and humanity
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...---------------- INTRODUCTION ---------------- Rel eased in 1982, STAR TREK II - THE WRATH OF KHAN is a sequel to both STAR TREK - THE MOTION PICTURE (released in 1979), and the episode 'Space Seed' from the first season of the original TV show STAR TREK. The first movie had not been well received by the critics, although it did quite well at the box office. Unfortunately its gross was not good enough for the studio in comparison for its budget so with the second movie they really were looking at the final outing for STAR TREK, unless they were able to come up with something both critically and financially more successful. ---------------- THE PLOT ---------------- Whilst on mission training cadets, Admiral James T. Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise is attacked by superhuman criminal Khan Noonian Singh and his followers, who had...

Khan Is Back And Not A Happy Chappie

Advantages: It is Star Trek for Trekkies
Disadvantages: Kirstie Alley's performance

...Well - here goes - I started with the first film and now I'm on to number 2! I may not be a trekkie, but I do have to sit and watch them so I might as well write my opinions down. As said, this is the second of 10 Star Trek films spanning 30 years. This can be picked up on blah.com for as little as £5.99 (P&P free as well!). We certainly havent paid that little for it as my husband gets these DVDs sent to him as part of a collection, along with some really informative magazines (if you are into Star Trek that is - me I just find them boring!) Anyway, I digress. An so on to the review.... Synopsis ~~~~~~~~ For those of you who watched the original series of Star Trek, many may remember meeting Khan in one of the episodes. The Enterprise encountered the Starship Botany Bay adrift in space, its crew in stasis since...

Review of Star Trek 2 - The Wrath Of Khan (DVD)

Not Bow-led over.

Advantages: Interesting details about Mongol culture
Disadvantages: Not engaging enough as a story

..."Lords of the Bow" is the second in the Conqueror series based on the life of Genghis Khan by Conn Iggulden. Iggulden is the author of the popular Emperor series which was based on the life of Julius Caesar. Although full of historical inaccuracies( which Iggulden himself admits) this series has been well received. Having read the Emperor series previously I was looking forward to the new series on Genghis Khan as I did not know much about him. Genghis Khan is famous for uniting the nomadic tribes of the Mongols and attacking the Chin Empire. He led many campaigns across Central Asia and his empire was substantial by the time of his death in 1227. His descendants, including Kublai Khan, cemented and added to this empire impressively. The first in this series " Wolf of the Plains" dealt with Genghis's childhood and the death of his...
