...When I booked my last trip to the US I had initially booked with Delta from Edinburgh. Unfortunately a couple of months after I made the booking Delta decided to pull their direct flight to New York from Edinburgh leaving me with a convoluted itinerary which wasn?t really feasible. As a result I had to cancel and rebook with another airline and the only airline which operates scheduled flights to the US from Scotland is Continental. I was loathe to travel through London as my autistic daughter gets very stressed in crowded environments and I thought if I could get the journey done in as few legs as possible this would also be easier for her. Very Continental

Advantages: Great variety, quality

...Chocolate Heaven Since 1911 Thorntons is a chocolate company established by Joseph William Thornton in 1911 in Britain. The year of establishment has been used in one of their famous marketing campaigns, "Chocolate heaven since 1911." According to an article I read Thorntons now has nearly 400 shops and cafes and a turnover over £180m. Thorntons Continental chocolates are their most popular assortment of chocolates. Apparently, sales of this range and Thorntons Special Toffee account for almost £80 million of Thornton's sales. It's easy to see why as in my opinion the chocolate are a great quality product with an even better taste. What I like about a box of Continental is that they are quite a posh box of chocolates. They make a great present as they are a bit nicer in my opinion than say a box of Roses or Quality Street...

continental shambles

Advantages: nice airhostessess
Disadvantages: rubbish service, delayed all the time, small planes, cramped.

...Back in march I took my first long haul flight to america with continental airlines. I regreted every minute of it. Our flight on the way out was an extra hour on top as it was due to the time zones. But when you looked at the map it looked like we had a drunk pilot. He was all over the place. His take off was poor and way to steep and slow. When he went to land he missed the landing and we had to circle again. When we decending he kept going steep and then he would have to pull up again this went on for about 20-30 minutes. It made everyone feel sick and hurt everyones ears. We had to sit with our seatbelts on the majority of the time. Finally when we landed we were all so glad to have landed on ground but it was too bumpy. suprised we didnt crash. Continental Grand Prix 4000

Advantages: Lightweight and fast, should be hard wearing...
Disadvantages: Expensive, but worth it !

...Just been for my first ride on my new Continental Grand Prix 4000 tyres, and thought I'd let you know about them. I know it's only a first use test, but will update this review when I've had them for a while. Also, I've assumed that if you're reading this, you have some interest and/or knowledge of bicycles. I hope that's OK... Continental have over 100 years experience in the development and production of road and mountain bike tyres, at the Continental Two-Wheel division's technology and development centre in Korbach in Germany. The Grand Prix 4000 road/race tyre is the sucessor to the excellent Grand Prix 3000 that I've had on my bike for 2 years or so. It's a "clincher" tyre (as opposed to a tubular tyre), so should fit most road/race wheels/rims. It was a bit of a narrow decision between these and the Continental Attack...

Athenaeum Luxury at the InterContinental

Advantages: Helpful staff, lovely bedrooms, mini-bus service into the centre
Disadvantages: Not much in the local area, expensive, facilities not the best

...(which had a view of the Acropolis) was marble effect floor rather than carpet, and had a sofa, glass coffee table with a couple of glossy Greek tourism magazines, and a writing desk and chair. There was also a kettle with Lipton teabags and Nescafe coffee sticks. There was air-conditioning but even on full blast it was still quite warm. On opening the window the room became a bit noisy. At least the blackout curtains kept the room darkened. The Bathroom: Very clean, but showing it's age a bit. There was a white fluffy bathrobe and slippers, which is always a plus point, bathroom scale (not so good!) and lovely Korres toiletries and a hygiene kit containing face pads, cotton buds and a mini sewing kit. We live in England so we knew we had a long journey on our hands and from my previous experiances with other airlines I know that plane travel isn't the nicest thing in the world.
