Today i'm going to write about and give you some information on the contraception i use. 'IMPLANON', Implanon in my oppinion is the best form of contraception i have tried. ~~~ WHAT IS IT? ~~~ Implanon is a progestogen-only contraceptive implant and is 4cm by 2mm (size of a match stick) flexible rod containing etonorgestrel. ~~~ HOW DOES IT WORK? ~~~ The Implanon is inserted just under the skin on the inside of your upper arm. Every day a small amount of Progestogen is released from the rod into the blood stream. The Progestogen works mainly by stopping ovulation (the release of an egg from your ovaries). For me the pill is a brilliant pill to be on, I don't take the pill for contraception reasons, I have used it the pill since I was 15 as I had really bad periods from a young age and this was the only way to make them a bit lighter and easier to bare. My wonderful Contraceptive Implant

Advantages: no babies, no periods, balanced hormones, no hassle, last three years
Disadvantages: small scar, some possible sideeffects

...Implanon I am 21 and a few months into my fourth and final year of teacher training at University. Therefore I do not want to get pregnant for at the very least two years. I have been with my boyfriend for over a year now and neither of us enjoy using condoms with their slimy rubbery smellyness. Microgynon 30 Contraceptive Pill

Advantages: Protects against pregnancy
Disadvantages: Not suitable for all people

...I have been taking Microgynon 30 for 5 and a half years and have found it really reliable. I have never been on any other contraceptive pills as I have never had any problems with this one so cannot compare but this is a great contraceptive pill to me. I started my period really young and had always suffered from really bad period pains, I would have to have days off school, and the pain was so bad that I'd end up crying. When I was 15 the doctor recommended that I tried the contraceptive pill as it had been known to help period pains, I spoke to my mum and she agreed that this would be worth a try. Advantages: 12 hour missed pill wndow, beneficial for those sensitive to estrogen

I suffer from a thyroid disorder and this causes my cycles to be terribly irregular anywhere from 25 - 37 days apart. Also I will add that I do not suffer badly from PMS/PMT, generally only a few pimples and some tummy bloating and cramping. Advantages: Regualr periods, prevents pregnacy
Disadvantages: More sensitive with missed pill moments.

Advantages: 3 years of not worrying about contraception
Disadvantages: it can cause spotting between periods

...I was so pleased when the new Implanon contraceptive came out, I obviously find it very easy to get pregnant as only one of my children was planned and the other two are the results of one forgotten pill and a condom which looked ok, but obviously wasn't. I took the combined pill for quite a few years but used to get really bad headaches with it and the mini pill suited me better but remembering to take it at the same time every day was a chore. ...HISTORY OF MARVELON Marvelon was origionally brought out in the 1980's, it contatins 150g of microgram desogestrel and 30 microgram ethinylestradiol. This means it's a combined low-dose oral contraceptive. To me this means nothing, I didn't really think about what my body would be taking in when taking the pill, all I cared about was not getting pregnant straight away. Oh my God the best contraceptive pill ever made!!!!

Advantages: First 2 months BIGGER BOOBS!! Clear skin
Disadvantages: Nauseous first 2-3 months

...All i have to say is that i have been plagued by mood swings, spots, and headaches for the past 6 years i started taking Yasmin 3 and a half months ago and my skin has never been clearer!! I feel so much better about myself my confidence has soared by being able to walk into work without acne ridden skin, my relationship with my partner is better because i'm not constantly up and down with my moods and my headaches have gone. I tried every spot treatment going i must have spent hundreds in the last few years and nothing worked. I'm never taking anything else. i so happy i've found something that agrees with me, after being prescribed Microgynon, Cilest and the contraceptive injection.
