GAS CONVERSION THROUGH POWERSHIFT

Advantages: Grant Given,Cheap fuel,Quick conversion

BT Converse 300 - disabled users -UPDATE

Advantages: The 'mobile' earpiece is excellent
Disadvantages: I have used it with some (though not wonderful) success with a BUSH homephone speaker telephone

...Further to my earlier opinion posted on the Converse 300 regarding hearing impaired users. I decided to get rid of the broken Converse 300 phones I had hanging around the house. I gave them to a mate because his disabled son dismantles things as it is theraputic for his fingers. By accident, my friend discovered it was possible to take bits from the broken phones and make an adapter. This adapter now allows me to use a second earpiece with any hearing aid compatible telephone, provided it has a socketed handset and volume control. Effectively I have a 'mobile' second earpiece! I now feel that all these years I have been ripped off financially by having to pay way over the odds because of my hearing loss. Also, I have been unnecessarily restricted in the choice of telephone I can use. I am now on the lookout for a novelty...

Don't Believe Everything You Hear

Advantages: A clever and unusual 70s thriller with an excellent central performance

Turborevs HID conversion kits

Advantages: improved vision, brighter lights
Disadvantages: delivery time

...for the ballasts and instructions. The instructions looked pretty easy to follow (there were two, quick version on the box and detailed instructions in a booklet). However I got a friend whose good with cars to help me install the kit. Installation wasn't difficulty it took us 15 mintues to install the kit (it took us longer to deciede where to position the ballast!). The result was brilliant, the light produced looked exactly the same as you see on an OEM xenon headlight unit. I couldn't see any glare (have tested this the best I could), the HID conversion now provides more light when I drive at night and you certainly notice the difference (its like daylight in front of you when driving at night). Overall very pleased with the quality of the kit, now I wouldn't drive a car with standard halogen bulbs at night....

...nothing new, many vehicles were converted in the 1970s to run on LPG but due to the fact that many engines would only run on high octane fuels in those days they suffered all sorts of engine problems. Modern day cars don't have the same issues, in the 1990s the Government agreed to subsidise the conversion of LPG. The owner would pay anything between £1500 - £2000 for the conversion & the Government gave you a large proportion of it back. Just like everything else, once it got popular the nasty Government & those nasty worthless politicians stopped paying out. They official line was that LPG wasn't making that much environmental difference; the truth was they wanted to save money. If you want to convert your petrol car today it would cost about the same amount for a decent quality kit. Cheaper ones are available but they are known to be...
