I often feel that with the larger name brands, their less expensive options are usually vastly inferior to their higher price models; the specifications being much reduced and the quality of design and materials used being less than satisfactory at times, usually breaking fairly soon. The larger companies seen to want to breed the notion that the quality of a product should correlate to it's price, hoping to reinforce the idea that you pay more, you get more. Got me converted to making fresh bread daily Cookworks Breadmaker

Advantages: No mess, no fuss
Disadvantages: It is quite big

...I thought I would give bread making a go. I bought one of these premixed bread recipes and my son and I got down to kneading. It ain't for the faint hearted, it takes ages, it is very messy and the dough is difficult to clean. However we did make nice bread, so much so I really wanted fresh bread without the hassle. I looked at breadmakers and thought I did not really want to spend £100 on something that might not work too well and which may be may be a fad for a lttle while. I noticed Argos had a stainless cookworks breadmaker reduced to £29, I bought it and went home to try it out. The first bread was a disaster I had added too much water (my fault), my second attempt was great. I have now tried breads from the recipe book that comes with the bread maker and I have also bought the supermarket premixes as well. There is no mess...

...cooked well throughout. It has been easy to use and easy to clean and I have as yet encountered no problems with the use of it. The timer works well and I could expect no more from a microwave that costs this price. It is a simple yet effective piece of kitchen equipment and one that I personally am glad that I bought. I would say this is the perfect microwave as it looks good is lightweight and its 17L capacity really is enough to cook all the things that I use the microwave for. A great microwave from Cookworks at a great price. Recommended to all....

...Cookworks 2 Slice Toaster After only recently buying a new toaster and being thoroughly disappointed with its performance or really I should say lack of performance I invested in buying a new one from Argos. My last toaster not only worked when it wanted to and I was often found standing holding the button down to toast my bread but it also lacked the ability to toast all of the slice. ...Hmm, there isn't an awful lot to say about toasters, come to think of it- but I've been quite happy with our little Cookworks toaster over the last few years so I thought I'd sing its praises... Toasters should all be quite straightforward really (I know there are some fancy ones on the market). The Cookworks Green Cool Wall 2-slot toaster with crumb tray (phew) is not particularly fancy in any way, but it does the job perfectly well. Roughly cuboid in shape, and under a foot long (roughly), it looks about as attractive as a toaster can possibly look in my experience.
