Cookworks Signature Whole Fruit Juicer
Advantages: Cheap and efficient
Disadvantages: Quite large and noisy
...I bought this at Argos for £25. This being my second juicer after returning the Argos XB433 (do not buy!). For £25 it is a great juicer. With only a 600 Watt motor it is not as fast as the other more expensive models, but definitely copes well with all types of fruit and vegetables.
The rotating mesh is a good size so it can extract as much juice as possible. The pulp is quite dry and collected nicely in the side pulp collector.
It does leak though very slightly on the fastest setting. This is due to the vibration and high air pressure created by the rotating mesh which sucks in air from the side pulp collector and blows it out of the juice dispenser. On the faster setting using oranges, the juice does splash slightly coming out.
From one orange I managed to extract just under 200ml. To maximise the juice extraction you have...

excellent fruit juicer
Advantages: excellent juice
Disadvantages: none
...Details:
600 watts. 1 litre juice container. 2 speed settings. Stainless steel filter. 2 litre pulp container. Easy clean. Safety locker. Dishwasher safe. Non slip feet.
have had it four weeks now and used it every day and it seems to be coping fineand is quite quick. It is however very noisy (louder than a vaccuum cleaner!) and juice sometimes escpaes the pulp collector - I think caused by the vibration.
The juice collector contains 1000ml -enough to collect juice for one person.
Performs very well for about a third of the price of top models, easy to assemble,
powerful motor and easy to clean. can't beat your own fresh fruit juices.
Good value juicer, 1st one we've owned but easy to use and good results. Cleaning all the bits is the only chore, but then you can't have everything.
I recommend to other buyers...

Cookworks Breadmaker - enjoy home baked bread
Advantages: Freshly baked bread.
Disadvantages: None
...I have always envied people who can make bread successfully. I don?t know how they find the time nor the patience to knead the dough wait for it to rise an then bake it. All my attempts have ended up in the bin. However, I recently asked a friend how she manages to make her own bread, run a farm and do a part time job. It was then she told me that she uses a bread maker and was quite surprised that I hadn?t already realised. Her bread is always delicious being fresh, soft and tasty so I thought I would give it ago.
I decided to look at Argos on line to see how much they were and the different types available. It was then that I noticed this Cookworks Bread Maker on offer at £31.89 (catalogue number 422/9399). Compared to some of the other makes it was very reasonably priced and very stylish being black and stainless steel. So I ordered...

Excellent first juicer
Advantages: Juice whole fuit (moreorless) with no fiddly peeling, de-pipping, etc.
Disadvantages: Too tall to readily fit under kitchen cupboard
...After a dismal disappointment of a leaking Russell Hobbs Juicer I received for Christmas, I returned it to Argos and upgraded to this one. An excellent buy at just £25 (half-price) at the time I am really pleased with it.
As with any other centrifugal juicer it suffers from awkward cleaning. Larger than I expected from the picture, its size (slightly larger than my washing up bowl) makes this additionally difficult, but not excessively so. Two speed settings seem to help extract the most juice from the fruit. I seemed to get more than the previous juicer I tried.
A large one litre juice container and even larger waste pulp bucket are filled through a shroud that fully-encloses the area where juice and pulp are flung - other juicers take note - this avoids leaks! Although labelled a whole-fruit juicer, I found larger varieties...

Got me converted to making fresh bread daily Cookworks Breadmaker
Advantages: No mess, no fuss
Disadvantages: It is quite big
...I thought I would give bread making a go. I bought one of these premixed bread recipes and my son and I got down to kneading. It ain't for the faint hearted, it takes ages, it is very messy and the dough is difficult to clean. However we did make nice bread, so much so I really wanted fresh bread without the hassle.
I looked at breadmakers and thought I did not really want to spend £100 on something that might not work too well and which may be may be a fad for a lttle while. I noticed Argos had a stainless cookworks breadmaker reduced to £29, I bought it and went home to try it out.
The first bread was a disaster I had added too much water (my fault), my second attempt was great. I have now tried breads from the recipe book that comes with the bread maker and I have also bought the supermarket premixes as well. There is no mess...

Cookworks Microwave in Silver
Advantages: cheap looks good
Disadvantages: none
...Cookworks MM717CKAS Microwave in Silver
Seeing as we have moved in to a brand new build flat it seemed such a shame to be taking a load of our older household furniture and equipment. After clearing out the kitchen and moving the old microwave out of its position of the last seven years I was able to see clearly for the first time that the white colourings of the microwave had turned a rather worn yellow colour. This would certainly show up more in our new fitted white kitchen and I for one was not prepared to move it and tarnish the look of our new flat. A quick browse in the Argos catalogue showed me all I needed when I saw this Cookworks silver microwave for a cheap price.
This microwave cost £29.99p although it is available in white for £24.49p and it is the cheapest microwave that Argos has for sale. We don...

COOKWORKS BREADMAKER (SO IT SAYS)
Advantages: fresh bread
Disadvantages: takes ages, cant get it right!
...One advantage of getting married is receiving lots of nice presents. Another household item on my list was the Cookworks breadmaker from Argos.
I have been waiting until I had used this a few times before I write a review on it, to give it a fair trial.
COST
+++++
This model was £24.99 from Argos. There were a lot dearer models and brands, but being a wedding present, I wanted something that was reasonably priced.
STYLE/DESIGN
++++++++++++
The machine is white (as can be seen in the above picture). The top of the machine has a clear plastic window so that you can check the bread without opening the top of the machine.
The control settings for the various cook cycles and programmes are all on the top of the machine also. The machine is very heavy.
FIRST USE
++++++++++
I plugged the machine on and it didnt...

Satisfactory but could do better!
Advantages: Quick, Whole Fruit, Looks Good
Disadvantages: Difficult to clean, Noisy, Messy
...I purchased mine from Argos at £25 (Half price), this was good value for a whole fruit juicer. However, if I had paid fifty quid I would have been disappointed.
It does take whole fruit and has two speed settings depending on the type of fruit to be juiced (it gives a table at the back of the leaflet). It is very quick and I've used it to juice whole apples (pips and all) no problem. It gets a lot of juice out but it also produces a lot of frothy scum. I don't know if this is normal as I've never used a juicer before. Mine also leaked from around the lid.
It is NOISY with a 600W motor that I think they use to start Harrier engines and I wouldn't recommend using it early in the morning when you live in a block of flats like me, if you want to be on good terms with your neighbours.
This juicer isn't particularly well designed...

Cookworks 2 Slice Toaster
Advantages: cheap and cheerful
Disadvantages: none
...Cookworks 2 Slice Toaster
After only recently buying a new toaster and being thoroughly disappointed with its performance or really I should say lack of performance I invested in buying a new one from Argos. My last toaster not only worked when it wanted to and I was often found standing holding the button down to toast my bread but it also lacked the ability to toast all of the slice. The top two inches were always poking out and I had to turn halfway through to make sure the whole slice was evenly browned.
I made sure then that my new toaster was capable of fitting inside a whole slice and working well. I decided to pay a little more than the last cheap one which cost me a fiver and spend out £10 on buying a nice silver looking Cookworks toaster. On arriving at Argos and checking availability with the small keypad...
