Reviews of cookworks kettle

Hot and steamy
Review of Cookworks WK8260 by lulujackson

Advantages: Good value for money, beautiful sleek and elegant design
Disadvantages: slightly chunky handle, may be a concern for hand or wrist problems.

...THE COOKWORKS SIGNATURE KETTLE Recently my regular kettle developed a leak so I had to rush out and buy a new one . On arriving home and opening the box I was terribly disappointed with the cheap and tacky kettle I unwrapped, so off I went back to the store and replaced it with the cookworks signature kettle. ON OPENING THE BOX I was definitely more than pleasantly surprised. what a delight to see the sleek smooth features of this shinny new black kettle. The base gave the impression of solid reliability On filling up the kettle I noticed it was wider than expected whilst appearing quite elegant. The water gauge also appeared very attractive. THE FEATURES Max capacity 1.7l Cordless system Water gauge Indicator light Automatic/manual switch off Boil dry protection THE LENGTH OF BOILING TIME when filled to the minimum water gauge... Cookworks Stainless Steel Kettle MI702A
Review of Cookworks MI702A by norwichuser

Advantages: all steel jug, easy to clean and use.
Disadvantages: inherrent design faults will lead to short operating life if treated roughly.

...All Stainless Steel Kettle, very easy to clean, and use. A considerably better design than most other kettles. The use of Stainless steel jug without stupid viewing holes also garantees that you will never get poisened by toxic plastic byproducts, suffer any bad taste or leakage from around the holes in the side of the kettle as you would from other brands and models. The Cookworks MI702A replaces the 11525 model which had only 1 flaw-it did not have temperature overload protection on the element. The redesigned kettle is basicaly flawed with the on/off switch being mechanically linked to the power connector. The extended reach of the linkage is prone to distortion and eventual bending or breakage where the parts interconnect and engage the (STRIX - power connector/power relay). Even though it is made of a plastic designed... Read review

Sign yourself up for coffee with Cookwork.
Review of Cookworks MK17P06A Signature White 2200W 1.7L by welshwickedone

Advantages: Lightweight, Safe, great features, value for money.
Disadvantages: None

...Cookworks MK17P06A Signature Cordless Kettle. ---------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------- Yesterday morning whilst venturing into the land of the living, I decided it was time to wake myself fully with a second cup of coffee of the day. Sadly, my attempts failed as my old kettle decided it was going to retire after 6 years of dedicated service. I was then reduced to the saucepan on the cooker routine to boil water and eventually got that second coffee. Whilst finally enjoying my coffee I decided to browse through the Argos Catalogue for a replacement kettle. After a few minutes browsing through the variety of kettle on offer, I was drawn to the Cookworks MK17P06A Signature Cordless Kettle for only £7.99. I immediately sent my husband packing to purchase the kettle. Kettle Features... Read review

Cookworks works, at half the price
Review of Cookworks MK17DOB by cokane

Advantages: Cheap, Quick, Good looking for the price
Disadvantages: Inauspicious brand if you want to be snobbish

...The Cookworks MK17DOB, for me, is a great example of how simple no fuss products can be well made for a small price without sacrificing quality. I often feel that with the larger name brands, their less expensive options are usually vastly inferior to their higher price models; the specifications being much reduced and the quality of design and materials used being less than satisfactory at times, usually breaking fairly soon. The larger companies seen to want to breed the notion that the quality of a product should correlate to it's price, hoping to reinforce the idea that you pay more, you get more. That's why as a student I have always ignored any big brand name electronics companies for the little things like kettles and toasters. I knew the ones I could stretch to afford would be rubbish anyhow. So I always stuck to the idea that I... Read review

The Breville kettle from the Classique Collection
Review of Breville KT17 by margarita003

Advantages: Fast boil, 360 degree swivel base, looks good
Disadvantages: A bit noisy

...I had previously bought a Cookworks 'bundled' Kettle and Toaster pack and was very disappointed. I took this back to the shop at the weekend and replaced it with this Classique Breville kettle. It has the traditional stainless feel and look but is quite a sleek, efficient contemporary kettle. It seems stainless steel is making a comeback and is competing very well with the 'yesteryear' plastic looking kettles. I bought this for £24.99 from Argos which is a price I would expect to pay for a kettle to last a more than an average period of time. I have had too many bad experiences with £10 or cheaper kettles. After only a few days use I'm more than impressed with this model. It is a 3KW fast boil kettle which begins to make all the right noises just as soon as you press the start button. It was advertised as a 1.7 litre capacity... Read review

Cheerful set for a bedsit
Review of Cookworks KK03 by queen_rain

Advantages: Cheap as part of a three-item set
Disadvantages: Needs a good slap

...I purchased this kettle as part of a three-item set (kettle, sandwich maker, toaster) from Argos, and paid £19.99 for the lot. I'm really pleased with my purchase and use all three items a lot. The kettle is 'cordless' which is very practical; it makes refilling the kettle or carrying it to the table so much easier. I would not use a corded kettle again. The capacity of 1.7 litre is ample for a single-person household. The kettle features 'dry boil protection' and 'auto-switch off', which I hope are basic safety features in all kettles nowadays. The water-level indicator is a much-needed feature for any electric kettle. Having once had a kettle without indicator, I would not consider using one again. Unfortunately, the water level indicator on this particular kettle can be misleading. At a casual glance, it always looks... Read review

Cha-cha-chaaa!
Review of Cookworks KK05 by bistro

Advantages: Reliable and easily maintained. Great value for money.
Disadvantages: Noisy. Docking the kettle onto the base can be problematic.

...Our former kettle made a sudden exit at a most inopportune time. We tried a 'fuse to plug' transplant but to no avail. Therefore having determined that life was extinct, and after a very short mourning, we set about a replacement. We were restricted in our choice due to it happening when most shops had shut. No way could we contemplate waking in the morning without a cuppa, so decided to purchase a 'temporary cheapo' and review the situation at a later date. Knowing our local branch of Argos would still be open; we dug out their trustee catalogue and with frugality uppermost, our eyes were immediately drawn to a couple of Cookworks Cordless jug-kettles. Cookworks was not a brand name unknown to us, as we had, and still do, get very good service from a Cookworks toaster. (Cookworks is actually a brand exclusive to Argos.) The only... Read review

Coffee, quick and easy.
Review of Cookworks XQ663 by mandrea

Advantages: Cheap, sturdy, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Doesn't make a lot of coffee

.... After having a good look in the Argos catologue, i came across this smart looking Cookworks XQ663 coffee machine. Cookworks is what you would call a budget brand, cheap and cheerful electrical machinery such as kettles, toasters, microwaves etc... I think it may be exclusive to Argos as i have not seen it stocked anywhere else. Indeed, it says in the catalogue it is " Only at Argos" The Cookworks filter coffee maker describes itself as: 10 Cup capacity 1.25 litre capacity Anti drip Filter Water level guage Thermostatic hotplate Keep warm function Non slip feet It has a black plastic finish, which honestley does not make it look cheap, with a black plug. It couldnt be easier to use. Simply pull out the filter, fill with your choice of coffee, fill up the water container at the back (you will need to use a measuring jug to do... Read review

Useful but smelly
Review of Russell Hobbs Classic White Travel Kettle by offy

Advantages: stylish and includes cups and spoons.
Disadvantages: Strong plastic smell

...long which would normally be long enough, however, on a badly designed boat it was not. My other half had to stand with it in his hand whilst waiting for it to boil every time, as there was no suitable surface to leave it on. The lengths he would go to for a cup of tea! The cups and spoons came in really useful but stained very easily and I have had to soak them in bleach solution to remove the stains as normal washing (even when we returned) failed to do it. I bought the kettle from Argos at a price of £13.95. Other similar kettles are priced between £8.99 (by Cookworks) and £14.99 (by Morphy Richards). Apart from the plastic smell (which I am hoping will eventually wear off) I can recommend this kettle.... Read review

Looking back not my best purchasing decision
Review of Cookworks Illuminated Kettle CEJ3300i by roamin

Advantages: looks good and boils fast
Disadvantages: poor life span and other dangerous problems

...Well I brought this kettle after seeing one in action, they boil quick and are asthetically pleasing to look at. They are very reasonably priced in comparison to similar kettles by other manufacturers. Its 3000kw, thus giving the boiling speed, has an auto switch off, detaches from the base for easily filling, has a release button that makes the lid pop open enabling filling (more about this later), is lit up inside by blue light when not in use and the light changes to red when its turned on, it looks quite effective with the light shining through the boiling water. But the price isnt such good value when the kettle only lasted 1 year and 1 day, yes it comes with a one year guarentee, but the one i purchased lasted out for another day. I know this is correct as we'd written the date of purchase on the box as 22nd July 2004 and would... Read review
