COOKWORKS MICROWAVE - Ride that Wave
Review of Cookworks MG7017NP-F by
Stewartyboy
Advantages: Cheap and effecient and quite stylish too...
Disadvantages: No advanced features
...Another new purchase from Argos. Such a convenient store, but thats another story.
I do use a microwave quite a bit and thats why i had 2 go get 1 for my own place. These days nearly everyone has a microwave. Many for quickness. Mr grampa has one and thats saying something haha ..wheither he uses it is another thing...
What i was looking for was something cheap but at the same time efficient. Browsing through my Argos catalogue i came across the Cookworks Microwave.
I decided to buy it as i was on a bit of a budget.
The microwave itself is quite stylish and looks the part. It is white in colour.
It has a Clear but basic control panel on the front of the microwave. It has a knob which controls the power of which you want to cook your food and it also has a timer knob for setting the time required to cook your food. They are easy...

Cookworks Microwave in Silver
Review of Cookworks MM717CKAS by
newby2
Advantages: cheap looks good
Disadvantages: none
...Cookworks MM717CKAS Microwave in Silver
Seeing as we have moved in to a brand new build flat it seemed such a shame to be taking a load of our older household furniture and equipment. After clearing out the kitchen and moving the old microwave out of its position of the last seven years I was able to see clearly for the first time that the white colourings of the microwave had turned a rather worn yellow colour. This would certainly show up more in our new fitted white kitchen and I for one was not prepared to move it and tarnish the look of our new flat. A quick browse in the Argos catalogue showed me all I needed when I saw this Cookworks silver microwave for a cheap price.
This microwave cost £29.99p although it is available in white for £24.49p and it is the cheapest microwave that Argos has for sale. We don’t really use...

Cookworks MM 717 AOF Basic but Good
Review of Cookworks MM 717 AOF by
gt5952
Advantages: Cheap, functional
Disadvantages: A bit bland in design
...The Cookworks MM 717 AOF is a basic line microwave, and is almost at the bottom of the range of the cookworks appliances.
It is a very simple device to use and ideal for those on a serious budget.
The front of the machine has the door (Obviously) and two dial controls. One is a timer, the other a power control ranging from just a little zap, to full radiation.
When the device is operated, the internal bulb switches on, and the inner plate turns to give even cooking.
The door is a simple pull type, which also deactivates the radiation cycle.
When open, the cooking plate and turnstyle ring can be removed for cleaning, as can the drive lug for turning the plate.
The device gives 700 watts of power when on maximum strength, and can cook for up to 60 minuites with the timer.
It takes 240 Volts, but will operate at 110 volts. Less...

Coffee, quick and easy.
Review of Cookworks XQ663 by
mandrea
Advantages: Cheap, sturdy, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Doesn't make a lot of coffee
....
After having a good look in the Argos catologue, i came across this smart looking Cookworks XQ663 coffee machine. Cookworks is what you would call a budget brand, cheap and cheerful electrical machinery such as kettles, toasters, microwaves etc... I think it may be exclusive to Argos as i have not seen it stocked anywhere else. Indeed, it says in the catalogue it is " Only at Argos"
The Cookworks filter coffee maker describes itself as:
10 Cup capacity
1.25 litre capacity
Anti drip
Filter
Water level guage
Thermostatic hotplate
Keep warm function
Non slip feet
It has a black plastic finish, which honestley does not make it look cheap, with a black plug. It couldnt be easier to use. Simply pull out the filter, fill with your choice of coffee, fill up the water container at the back (you will need to use a measuring jug to do...

MICROWAVE: Not for Hale and Pace!!
Review of Cookworks E8528P-F by
martinwi
Advantages: Compact, easy to use, does what it should.
Disadvantages: One minor (see Power info) and Failed within 17 months!
...This Microwave is made by COOKWORKS who make various types of white goods. A selection of their products can be seen in ARGOS, amongst other High Street and Internet places.
Price:
This cost me £39.99 just over a year ago. A years guarantee is included within the price. Currently very similar models are available for the same sort of price.
Functions:
**NOTE**: The main specs list has an error. This Microwave DOES have a turntable.
This does have a light inside to see how the cooking is going.
There is a selection of autocook buttons for the following items: Popcorn, Potato, Pizza, Muffin, Vegetable & Beverage. They can all be cooked quickly with the correct settings using the buttons.
When your food is ready, the Microwave will bleep 5 times.
The front display also contains a clock which shows time left to go, when cooking...

The student's microwave
Review of Cookworks MG7017NP-F by
vetstudies.com
Advantages: EASY to use
Disadvantages: A bit too basic. Must PULL the door open.
...A perfect student's microwave. Basic - two knobs (one for power and the other for time) which my grandmother could figure out how to use! However, it is basic to the extreme that you have to PULL the door open - no neat little button you push to get a nice click sound which means the door is about to swing open… This does get irritating if you've only got one free hand, or if the microwave is precariously perched on a narrow counter top in student accommodation… The temperatures aren't exact 'accurate' either.
For an indication of its power though, a mug of water will boil in about 1.5 minutes on 'High' and a medium sized potato will be cooked in about 7 minutes. The 'defrost' setting, indicated by an interesting little symbol with water droplets, will defrost a single slice of frozen bread in 1 minute (to a point that you can toast it...

Fast food anyone? **Updated**
Review of Cookworks E8017P-F by
fun2night4us
Advantages: Compact size with a large cooking compacity
Disadvantages: none
...Cookworks a brand name that can be trusted in the kitchen.
I was in need of a microwave, but did not want to spend a fortune on something that could live without. So while shopping around I did a little comparison research to find which microwave would give me the best value in respect to its cooking compacity, overall size, functions and ability to save space in my already small kitchen. In the end I came up with what seems to be the perfect microwave for my kitchen, a Cookworks E8017P-F.
The E8017P-F is a very compact microwave its size is 459mm x 268mm X296mm, yet it has a 17L cooking area compacity. So for the relatively small amount of space that it takes up on the kitchen counters it has the ability to cook or warm some pretty big items. It is perfect to warm that early morning travel mug of coffee right before heading off...

Never let your husband chose the microwave!
Review of Cookworks E8525P-F by
piggypine
Advantages: Popcorn mode
Disadvantages: Large and manly
...We recently needed to buy a new microwave, our old one kept shooting sparks so we thought it best to replace it rather thanblow up the kitchen. Kindly my mother in law offered to get us one for christmas, which was great unfortunately my husband picked it and didnt let me see, not so great.
The Cookworks E8525P-F is a chrome effect microwave with pressure pad style buttons rather than dials(handy when your child is obsessed with buttons and you dont want them switching the micro on)LED display and is 850 watts/categoery E(heating category for small packs)
Its features include an auto menu function where you can set the microwave specifically for popcorn, potato, pizza, muffins, veg and beverages. each of these settings also has a portion size choice, all available by pressing the appropriate button(indicated by name and a picture...

Healthy eating and more time for Ciao!
Review of Cookworks Food Steamer by
Jami74
Advantages: Easy to use and maintain, cheap.
Disadvantages: I always cook to much!
...Cookworks 3 Bowl Steamer.
What is it? What does it do?
Cookworks 3 Bowl Steamer is an electrical device designed to steam cook food. It runs off electricity and has a heating element that rapidly heats tap water to the required temperature for producing steam which rises up through small holes in three clear plastic bowls steam cooking the food on it’s way.
Steaming is an ideal way to cook potatoes and vegetables, it minimises nutrient loss and prevents them from becoming soggy by absorbing the water that they are boiled in. Meat can be steamed as opposed to being grilled, boiled or fried and this too has obvious health benefits. The same goes for fish and seafood. However, the steamer does not ‘roast’ joints so Sunday dinner is still better off done in the oven. Included with the 3 Bowl Steamer is a rice bowl which can be used...

Cookworks Silver 3 Bowl Steamer
Review of Cookworks 3 BOWL Steamer by
sallyspud
Advantages: steams veggies, healthy, very cheap. Easy to refill with water mid use.
Disadvantages: longer cook times than guidelines, beware of heat at end of cooking
...Readers to my Health Grill review will know im having my kitchen done at the moment, so Ive been trying to get ways of cooking our dinners healthily & easily & not having to use microwave meals all the time.
Well I decided a steamer may be of use after cooking my veggies in the microwave one at a time, the first being cold when the last was done, nothing several microwaves would have sorted!
I only wanted something cheap, as im not sure how much it will be used when the kitchen is finished. So I browsed through Argos & found the Cookworks 3 bowl steamer in silver at only £12.99. Nowhere on this is a model number, not even on the instructions, but thats the title of the product.
The picture at the bottom represents my model.
It has 3 big bowls & a unit at the bottom with the controls to generate the steam from water you put...
