Cookworks Silver Glass Blender
Review of Cookworks Silver Glass Blender by
sufisu
Advantages: Easy to clean, cheap and effective.
Disadvantages: Glass jug is quite heavy and sometimes it doesn't blend efficiently
...After my previous, very expensive, blender blew up, I decided to go for a cheaper model and opted for the Cookworks blender with glass jug and, considering it came in at just under £20, it's a very effective blender.
This has 2 speeds plus a pulse option. The glass jug is very simple to clean, unlike plastic ones which may be lighter but have the disadvantage of material clinging to the sides. With the glass jug, everything is washed away very quickly. The lid is rubbery/bendy plastic which gives a very tight fit so no chance of the lid flying off and splattering all over the kitchen and the stopper is one of those that is push and twist to secure.
Drawbacks are that the glass jug is really quite heavy and obviously breakable if dropped. I use mine for smoothies, sauces and soups and have found that sometimes, even on the top...

Cookworks MM 717 AOF Basic but Good
Review of Cookworks MM 717 AOF by
gt5952
Advantages: Cheap, functional
Disadvantages: A bit bland in design
...The Cookworks MM 717 AOF is a basic line microwave, and is almost at the bottom of the range of the cookworks appliances.
It is a very simple device to use and ideal for those on a serious budget.
The front of the machine has the door (Obviously) and two dial controls. One is a timer, the other a power control ranging from just a little zap, to full radiation.
When the device is operated, the internal bulb switches on, and the inner plate turns to give even cooking.
The door is a simple pull type, which also deactivates the radiation cycle.
When open, the cooking plate and turnstyle ring can be removed for cleaning, as can the drive lug for turning the plate.
The device gives 700 watts of power when on maximum strength, and can cook for up to 60 minuites with the timer.
It takes 240 Volts, but will operate at 110 volts. Less...

Review of Cookworks WK8260 by
lulujackson
Advantages: Good value for money, beautiful sleek and elegant design
Disadvantages: slightly chunky handle, may be a concern for hand or wrist problems.
...THE COOKWORKS SIGNATURE KETTLE
Recently my regular kettle developed a leak so I had to rush out and buy a new one . On arriving home and opening the box I was terribly disappointed with the cheap and tacky kettle I unwrapped, so off I went back to the store and replaced it with the cookworks signature kettle.
ON OPENING THE BOX
I was definitely more than pleasantly surprised.
what a delight to see the sleek smooth features of this shinny new black kettle.
The base gave the impression of solid reliability
On filling up the kettle I noticed it was wider than expected whilst appearing quite elegant.
The water gauge also appeared very attractive.
THE FEATURES
Max capacity 1.7l
Cordless system
Water gauge
Indicator light
Automatic/manual switch off
Boil dry protection
THE LENGTH OF BOILING TIME
when filled to the minimum water gauge...

Hand Blender by Cookworks
Review of Cookworks hand blender by
Deetzyb
Advantages: Does the job at a cheap price
Disadvantages: No beaker with it
...The Cookworks handblender is a cheap and cheerful blender. I bought it for 4.99 from Argos and it does the job.
I'm not a great cook or anything. I like to fiddle around in the kitchen from time to time and do a little baking with my two daughters so its a handy thing to have. Since I'm not one for doing fabulous dishes, I didn't want to spending loads on something I'd not use too often.
The Cookworks hand blender is white with a royal blue button on it with two speed settings. The button is a touch button type so you press whatever end you need for your chosen speed of blending. It has a detachable head on it for ease of cleaning and is dishwasher safe - an absolute must in my house!! It also comes with a rubber blue hook on the end of it for hanging up when not in use. It is a 220 watt which seems to be somewhere in the middle...

How'd u like your toast?...dunno, oh i'll guess!
Review of Cookworks Toaster by
smoggy_fuzzball
Advantages: cool wall
Disadvantages: cool wall doesn't actually work properly, is a little unpredictable.
...Well, this really was all of it's money as David Dickenson would say! I paid £6.95 for my Cookworks Toaster from my local Argos. I thought it would be a bargain, but I really should have done a bit of research and spent a bit more. I have found that this toaster is a little unpredictable when it comes to toasting normal medium sliced bread (or any type of bread really). When using my old toaster, I set the dial to the setting required and it made perfect toast, until I decided to get a new one. When I bought the new toaster, I tried it a couple of times to get a feel for it, but it never seemed to do the same amount of browness on two batches of toast set on the same setting. I think it is way too unpredictable and sometimes it doesn't seem to toast the bread at all. I often have to put it in again and start over. I think it has...

Easy Dough!!
Review of Cookworks XBM1038 by
warmstrong
Advantages: Fresh Bread whenever you want
Disadvantages: None
...We had, until two days ago, a Morphy Richards 4825 breadmaker. It had given stirling results over the past 3 years or so making a least two loaves a week until the heating element went. Looking for a replacement I searched all the usual shops - both online and locally and eventually found the Cookworks XBM1038 in Argos at £23.99. This machine bears an uncanny resemblance to the Morphy Richards 4825 and based on this we went and bought one. On opening the box we found that indeed, with a few exceptions the unit appeared to be a re-badged Morphy Richards. It has a couple of extra functions (called Ultra Fast) over the Morphy Richards 4825 and slight cosmetic changes. It works as good as my old unit and produces just as good bread and the Ultra Fast - if you follow the instructions - gives reasonably good results. Unlike the Morphy...

The Cookworks Toaster
Review of Cookworks CW203 by
bagoproverbial
Advantages: Compact, easy to use
Disadvantages: None really
...Hmm, there isn't an awful lot to say about toasters, come to think of it- but I've been quite happy with our little Cookworks toaster over the last few years so I thought I'd sing its praises...
Toasters should all be quite straightforward really (I know there are some fancy ones on the market). The Cookworks Green Cool Wall 2-slot toaster with crumb tray (phew) is not particularly fancy in any way, but it does the job perfectly well. Roughly cuboid in shape, and under a foot long (roughly), it looks about as attractive as a toaster can possibly look in my experience. You can fit two slices of bread in at a time (this can be fresh or frozen... obviously frozen bread will take longer), then you press the handle down and adjust the timer accordingly (I find that normal fresh white bread is best on timer setting two). If the bread pops out...

COOKWORKS MICROWAVE - Ride that Wave
Review of Cookworks MG7017NP-F by
Stewartyboy
Advantages: Cheap and effecient and quite stylish too...
Disadvantages: No advanced features
...Another new purchase from Argos. Such a convenient store, but thats another story.
I do use a microwave quite a bit and thats why i had 2 go get 1 for my own place. These days nearly everyone has a microwave. Many for quickness. Mr grampa has one and thats saying something haha ..wheither he uses it is another thing...
What i was looking for was something cheap but at the same time efficient. Browsing through my Argos catalogue i came across the Cookworks Microwave.
I decided to buy it as i was on a bit of a budget.
The microwave itself is quite stylish and looks the part. It is white in colour.
It has a Clear but basic control panel on the front of the microwave. It has a knob which controls the power of which you want to cook your food and it also has a timer knob for setting the time required to cook your food. They are easy...

Cookworks Stainless Steel Kettle MI702A
Review of Cookworks MI702A by
norwichuser
Advantages: all steel jug, easy to clean and use.
Disadvantages: inherrent design faults will lead to short operating life if treated roughly.
...All Stainless Steel Kettle, very easy to clean, and use. A considerably better design than most other kettles. The use of Stainless steel jug without stupid viewing holes also garantees that you will never get poisened by toxic plastic byproducts, suffer any bad taste or leakage from around the holes in the side of the kettle as you would from other brands and models.
The Cookworks MI702A replaces the 11525 model which had only 1 flaw-it did not have temperature overload protection on the element.
The redesigned kettle is basicaly flawed with the on/off switch being mechanically linked to the power connector.
The extended reach of the linkage is prone to distortion and eventual bending or breakage where the parts interconnect and engage the (STRIX - power connector/power relay). Even though it is made of a plastic designed...
