Advantages: Very laid back, relaxing, clean beach, good choice of resturants
Disadvantages: Can be too quiet for young people!

...Coral Bay in Cyprus is one of my favourite places in the world. It is the perfect place to go to relax and unwind and you are pretty much guaranteed sunshine. Even now in January the sun is shining and it is 19C! It is a 30-40 minute drive from Paphos airport and very easy to get to, even for a first timer in Cyprus! All the road signs are in English and they also drive on the left like us. Coral Bay is mainly centered along a main strip of bars, resturants and shops. All the hotels and villas are just off the main strip and along the sea front. There is a more laid back feel to Coral Bay than other resorts in Cyprus and even on a weekend night it doesn't feel to crowded. Ascos Coral Beach Hotel,Cyprus. One of the nicest hotels.

Advantages: Close to beach, peaceful , no children, close to bars
Disadvantages: Shingle beach by hotel.

...We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute. The Wonders of Coral Bay

Advantages: The sea is a clean clear blue and the weather is fantastic.

...Coral Bay is a beautiful place to visit. The sea is clean and a clear blue. When I was there in June 2005, I stayed in my apartment which is situated only down the road from Coral Bay in a small place called Peiya. Every day we drove into Coral Bay which took only five minutes. There are lots of water sports available on the beach, such as para-gliding, scuba diving, glass boat trips (which is a must), jet skis, banana rides, water skis, speed boat hiring, pedaloes, windsurfing and lessons and canoeing. There are also plenty of places to eat and drink just up the road from the beach. In the evening we went to a taverna and bar where there was a pool table for the kids and the owners let them play on this free of charge. The people there were very polite and generous. Coral Bay, also, have a few shops which do come in handy...

Coral Beach Hotel

Advantages: Grea hotel, beautiful pools, highly recommend
Disadvantages: probably packed during peak season?

...Cyprus is an island in the southern mediterean, just off the Egyptian coast, being divided into touristy Greek Cyprus and Turkish Cyprus (which is mostly a military base). I went to Cyprus on a cycling holiday and it was an absolute nightmare to get the bikes, we waited 45 minutes after everyone else had left the new (but very barren and not very comfortable) arrival lounge. The bikes eventually appeared to fell off the plane, as we found later in the holiday that they arrived with various damage. Larnaca is the location of the main airport in Cyprus, located close to the party town of Ayia Napa but 90 minute slow bus ride away from the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort, Paphos. The country appears to be very dusty, sparse in population except for the large hotel resorts and the ubiquitous half built villa's that seem to be found...

Capo Bay Hotel, Protaras

Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel
Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close!

...We have just returned from our honeymoon in Cyprus. We stayed at the Capo Bay Hotel, which stands on the Fig Tree Bay in the resort of Protaras. It is one hours drive from Larnaca Airport. (I will reveiw Protaras as a resort separately. This review is solely on the Capo Bay Hotel). The hotel was fantastic. It is 4star hotel and the service and facilities are great. The Capo Bay hotel has 225 rooms over 4 floors and was built in 1985. It offers a gymnasium with massage and jacuzzi, tennis, scuba diving, pool, 2 swimming pools (1 heated) and 4 different restaurants to eat in, including 1 beside the pool. We paid £1500 for two weeks Bed & Breakfast. This was for an inland view room, but because we were on our honeymoon, we were upgraded to a seaview room. We overlooked the swimming pool and had an excellent view...

Advantages: Great location, extensive amount of food and drink available
Disadvantages: Parts of hotel need updating

..., alcohol (local alcohol free only) and ice cream available all day. There are quizzes and pool activities during the day which are quite fun but the evening entertainment is pretty poor. Bingo every night with a jackpot of (drumroll) £10! Once a week the hotel has a casino night which is great, you can play roulette, blackjack, craps or poker. The hotel is in a great position just off the main strip of Coral Bay and about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. We would return to this hotel as we think it is good value for money and you get what you pay for....

...I stayed at this hotel for one week in July 2005. It was brilliant. The hotel looked classy from the inside and out, and was only a short way from the shops and restaurants in Paphos. Check In: I arrived at this hotel with 2 other family members, it was night time and we were all feeling tired and stressed. The check in to the hotel was quick, even though there was only one receptionist there. We quickly found our room on the bottom floor of the hotel, just a little way down the corridor. What we thought was the bottom floor was actually not though, as we found out, you had to go downstairs to get to the pool and the other facilities. Hotel Coral, Skala Rachoni

Advantages: Nice hotel, good swimming pool and bar, fantastic scenery, close to the beach, very peaceful
Disadvantages: Very remote - a few more tavernas would be advantageous, the seabed was covered in seaweed

...My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at the Hotel Coral in Skala Rachoni, Thassos. We booked with Thomsons Holidays as a last minute package deal, although this hotel can be booked independently. We stayed for a week during the school holidays from July 22nd to July 29th 2007. THE LOCATION and FACILITIES The hotel is literally 180 metres from the sea (less than 5 minutes walk) and is set within beautiful olive groves with a spectacular mountain backdrop. The small resort centre of Skala Rachoni is about 1km away along the seafront, and the village of Rachoni is 4km inland. There is plenty of parking available at the hotel and a lovely swimming pool with pool bar. The one place that always seemed to come up was the Corel Hotel in Corfu. All the pictures and info on the net pointed to a good family run hotel in a nice area of Corfu. Advantages: Quiet, relaxing

...Just returned from this hotel after a two week all-inclusive holiday. The total cost was about £2000 for two of us for two weeks. This was our first time at a child-free hotel (the Ascos does not allow any children under the age of 16 until the end of October) the difference was quite astounding - more of that later. The Ascos Beach is in Coral Bay - a small-ish resort just outside Paphos (takes about half an hour by bus, including all the stops along the way). There is a regular bus service (every 20 minutes or so) that only costs 80c per person one way. A 5 minute walk from the hotel is Coral Bay resort, basically one road with restaurants, shops and a couple of banks. This leads down to Coral Bay Beach - a man-made beach with hundreds of sunbeds, two cafes and a carpark. We went to have a look and that was all - it wasn't worth...
