Ascos Coral Beach Hotel,Cyprus. One of the nicest hotels.

Advantages: Close to beach, peaceful , no children, close to bars
Disadvantages: Shingle beach by hotel.

...We stayed at the Ascos Coral beach Hotel ,Cyprus, in June 2009. The hotel, during the summer months is for adults only,which if your are on a relaxing holiday makes a big difference. Once you enter the hotel you can notice straight away that there are no children running around, its very peaceful. The hotel is around half an hour drive from the airport at Paphos. It is located on the coast and has a pathway down to a shingle beach which to be honest we did not use as it was a bit awkward to walk along. The shops, not many mind, and the bars are about a five minutes walk. If you want to go to the coral bay beach it would take you around 15 minutes to walk there at the most, and to drive there it would take around 1 minute. Coral Beach Hotel

Advantages: Grea hotel, beautiful pools, highly recommend
Disadvantages: probably packed during peak season?

...Cyprus is an island in the southern mediterean, just off the Egyptian coast, being divided into touristy Greek Cyprus and Turkish Cyprus (which is mostly a military base). I went to Cyprus on a cycling holiday and it was an absolute nightmare to get the bikes, we waited 45 minutes after everyone else had left the new (but very barren and not very comfortable) arrival lounge. The bikes eventually appeared to fell off the plane, as we found later in the holiday that they arrived with various damage. Larnaca is the location of the main airport in Cyprus, located close to the party town of Ayia Napa but 90 minute slow bus ride away from the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort, Paphos. The country appears to be very dusty, sparse in population except for the large hotel resorts and the ubiquitous half built villa's that seem to be found...

Ascos Coral Beach Hotel, Cyprus

Advantages: Great location, extensive amount of food and drink available
Disadvantages: Parts of hotel need updating

..., alcohol (local alcohol free only) and ice cream available all day. There are quizzes and pool activities during the day which are quite fun but the evening entertainment is pretty poor. Bingo every night with a jackpot of (drumroll) £10! Once a week the hotel has a casino night which is great, you can play roulette, blackjack, craps or poker. The hotel is in a great position just off the main strip of Coral Bay and about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach. We would return to this hotel as we think it is good value for money and you get what you pay for....

Disadvantages: Few extra facilities

...a lady in the reception area. Prices were very competitive, the car was good quality and the service great. Aphrodite's rock is only about 20 minutes away, Coral Bay where the beaches are a bit better around 15 minutes away too and Curium beach about 30 minutes drive, Troodos you can get to in about an hour and Limassol 45 minutes. So its definately worth looking into if you want to get out and about and see a bit of the island. Most of the staff in the hotel are really friendly and will go out of their way for you, the girls at reception were great apart from one of them could hardly speak English which they should be able to speak as the majority of holiday makers there are Brits! As mentioned the rooms were a bit tired, they could do with a facelift to be honest but they are comfortable and clean and for the price you pay you...

Whilst there we spent our days at the 5* Bentota Beach hotel using the pool & bar, for a small fee of £2 you can go to any hotel & use their facilities.This is a nice way of checking out the other hotels & generally being nosey.We fell in love with the place & decided then that if we went back we would stay at the hotel.One of the main things that had swung it for me was the resident elephant who was also part of the wedding ceremony. Sri Lanka or Ceylon as it was once known is an Island off the southern tip of India in the Indian Ocean .It is a ten & three quarter hour journey if flying direct.There are sometimes stopovers in the Maldives which is a wonderful place...

...~*~CALIFORNIA APARTMENTS~*~ We stay in the California apartments which is actually a hotel its part of the coral beach hotel chain. The apartment itself was great. Balcony ~ nice size, with table and chairs and room to move. Bathroom ~ large size, has normal sink, normal toilet, nice big mirror, bath tub with a shower over it. Bedroom / living room ~ massive, had table and chairs, sofa bed, tele and a massive mirrored wardrobe. Kitchen ~ normal little kitchen with fridge freezer, lots of cupboards, cooker, plates, knifes and all the rest you would need to cook a meal. This apartment was a lot more than what we expected even had our own safe. If you are staying in a room only then this hotel would be fine for disabled people as there is a lift but all the other accommodation in this hotel is access from stairs unless you...

This is one of my memories of the Kombo Beach Hotel where I stayed when I visited the Gambia. We were a little concerned visiting Africa with the children, especially as we were on honeymoon at the time and the kids were really too little to be on their own. You hear about deseases and worry about accommodation and this is one case in which I did not have to worry too much. The Kombo Beach hotel accommodated us nicely and thought of everything. Advantages: Nice hotel, good swimming pool and bar, fantastic scenery, close to the beach, very peaceful
Disadvantages: Very remote - a few more tavernas would be advantageous, the seabed was covered in seaweed

...and the supermarket is about 50m away. At first, the isolation was a little overwhelming and I wished that we had booked somewhere within a typical resort centre. However, after the initial surprise of this, we soon began to appreciate the tranquility of the surrounds. We had visited in high season. Whereas most resorts would be packed with tourists, Skala Rachoni maintained much of its traditional Greek charm and there were only a smattering of tourists. The pool area at the hotel was never busy, and the beach was never crowded. The Tavernas were quiet although had enough people eating there to ensure a good atmosphere. ...Coral Hotel, Roda Corfu INTRO Not knowing where to go for hols this year we decided to convert our Tesco vouchers and go for a free holiday. The one place that always seemed to come up was the Corel Hotel in Corfu. All the pictures and info on the net pointed to a good family run hotel in a nice area of Corfu. LOCATION The hotel is situated on the outskirts of RODA which itself is about an hour and a half from Corfu Town and the airport. The hotel itself is literally a small stones throw from the beach. Alas that's a pebble beach but its still right on the sea. When we arrived I was pleasantly surprised at the location.
