...The Logitech LX5 Cordless Optical Mouse consists of two parts. The transmitter which connects to the PC's mouse port and the mouse itself. OK, three parts - a driver CD too. Installation is straight forward and you can use it without the driver CD but it does add a few extra features so is worth installing. The transmitter has a USB connector but Logitech have included a USB to PS/2 adaptor to ensure it works with all PCs. One nice feature is the battery warning lamp. Wireless keyboards and mice can be a pain when the batteries die so having a warning indicator to give you time to get more is a boon. In use, I found it rather small in my palm and I don't have very big hands. I had to adopt a slightly different way of resting my hand on it but it soon became natural so not a huge deal. People with bigger hands may struggle though...

Yet another cordless optical from Logitech

Advantages: Cordless, ergonomic, comfortable, built in battery
Disadvantages: Office button annoyingly positioned

..., unlike other mice i've used with a thumb button function. The Scroll works well, with a tilt capability to scroll the screen horizontally as well as vertically. The final button, i didn't even realise was a button until the software prompted me to assign it to something. It can be used as an application switcher or a special office button etc, but to be honest, its covered by my palm when i hold the mouse, and so i never use it anyway. I think this mouse was bought at £40, which is considered expensive for a mouse (although more expensive ones exist!). Its only winning functions are the base station charger and the application switch button which i never use. Other than that, i don't know why its so expensive. Other standard wireless optical mice can be bought for ten pounds cheaper. However, i'm a big fan of the thumb buttons...

I love the idea of a cordless mouse, as I am left-handed and everyone else in my family is right handed so I was always moving wires round the back of the monitor to get the thing in the right position for me to use at the family desktop. ...Having bought this some months ago I can give a decent review of it. This is a cordless optical mouse (ps/2 or USB), which has its own base unit for automatic recharging. In other words there are 2 rechargeable batteries in the mouse which recharge simply by placing the mouse on its unit. If you dont place the mouse in its base, the batteries will last about a week, so as long as you leave it overnight at least once a week it's fine. The main thing I would say about this mouse is that it is fairly weighty. Obviously you're not having to pick it up so it's not a big issue, but it's definately not lightweight. It slides around your mat very easily, and I find it much more responsive and accurate than my old mini optical mouse. The difference is amazing. Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse.

Advantages: No more wires.
Disadvantages: Eats the batteries.

.... and the optical-tracking technology provides smooth cursor movement on almost all surfaces and eliminates the hassles of mouse pad and cleaning old-fashioned mouse balls. The only downside to being wireless is that it takes batteries and with this one there is no off switch on the mouse, so when not using my computer I remove the batteries..... and have noticed by doing this the batteries do last longer, around 3 weeks for me with average usage. Overall this is a nice and neat looking little mouse and I prefer this much better than my old corded one, although I still have the old one just in case I run out of batteries when I dont have any ! ...When it comes to mouse’s, there all pretty much the same, except for of course optical or the ones with little ball bearings in them. However most mouse’s do handle the same, and there is little that can really be changed to a mouse, the size, shape and colour can be changed as can the buttons it has, however sometimes altering these just makes it too snazzy and people cant understand them. I bought this from Argos quite a while ago, and its one of my mouse’s that I use a lot. However one annoying thing about it is its size, and because I have a laptop, I don’t like to take this around with me due to it being too large and not fitting in my bag. This actually cost me £5.47, which is pretty reasonable, especially for Argos, but I do think it was in some kind of sale. Ok so its not the best looking...
