...Arriving in Córdoba, it's difficult not to be impressed as the Mezquita looms large on the horizon. This magnificent former Mosque is now the city's Cathedral and undoubtedly, its most famous attraction and landmark. This was probably the main reason we were visiting the city, and we had booked accommodation at the Hotel Maimonides, literally feet from the Mezquita. CÓRDOBA has a long and illustrious history. It was founded by the Romans (not sure who losted it) in 169BC and because of its strategic position - the furthest navigable point of the Guadalquivir River, it developed into an important port. It was the Romans who constructed the massive bridge over the Guadalaquiver River, El Puente Romano. Cordoba - a very Moorish city

Advantages: Plenty to see and do, great seafood
Disadvantages: Gets terribly hot in summer, not cheap

...Cordoba is a city I felt I knew even before I'd been; that's probably because it is home to some well-known historical sites and is a city that has made a big contribution to Spanish culture, most notably through the art of flamenco dancing and music. It is a city with a reputation of hot days and hot nights and there is nowhere that better encapsulates the many cultures that have contributes to the melting pot that is Andalusia. Maimed Knees in Cordoba

...One of the places we really wanted to see when we were in Andalucia was the city of Córdoba. What we particularly wanted to see there was the Mezquita (the old Moorish mosque) and to wander around the tangled maze of the Jewish Quarter. (Read all about it in my preview) So with this in mind, and an pigheaded doggedness to book a hotel that was exactly right (when I say pig-headed doggedness, obviously I refer to a wish to please Mrs P and so avoid getting an earful for choosing a crappy hotel), I searched the net until my fingers bled, metaphorically speaking. I found a suitable one on a site called atrapalo.com - a Spanish travel site which is well worth checking out. I paid ? 53 per night room only - the rack rate for B&B is nearer ? 100 (? 1 = 67p approx.), not too shabby. The hotel is located in the heart of Córdoba's old town...

Advantages: a prsoperous, relaxing alternative to Buenos Aires

Seat down for Hobson's choice

Advantages: power steering, central locking, electric windows
Disadvantages: no rear wiper, no internal lock for boot, rear window tiny

...Please bear with me, this is my first ever car review (from a girl's perspective, naturally) and depending on your ratings, may be my last. Don't worry guys; I have tried to put some facts and figures in that may sway your opinions. NAME OF CAR: Seat Cordoba CLX 1.9 BACKGROUND: As usual, I rode my last car into the ground (my poor Nissan Micra stalled at a junction and failed to restart - module in distributor had gone so new car was urgently needed. Feels much more expensive than it is

Advantages: Great Powerful Diesel estate
Disadvantages: No rear windscreen wiper

...When it came to choosing a new car we tested quite a number and nothing came close to Seat when comparing price, quality, build etc. We chose to have a Seat Leon 1.6 petrol car, but due to a delay in shipment we were given a Seat Cordoba 1.9 Tdi in the meantime. The Cordoba is a supremely powerful, comfortable diesel compact estate car. It has a massive boot which does impact on the size of the rear windscreen - in heavy traffic following car's headlight are too low to be seen. I am 5"8 and find the rear windscreen no problem at all, but my wife who is 5"2 finds her visibility a little awkward. The compensation of a massive boot is worth it as far as i am concerned though. The seat is height adjustable and the steering wheel is adjustable forwards & back, up & down - so it is not so difficult to compensate for rear visibility...

A Mixed Bag

Advantages: Cheap Insurance, Good Boot Size, Air Con
Disadvantages: Front Brakes, Boot Access, Dealers

...'t!! The Dealer network really is patchy, and I have to say, fairly expensive. With comparatively few of them about, customer service doesn't present itself as too high on the priority list. The boot is massive for a car this size, but unfortunately, the access prevents you from getting any bulky items into it. I assume that this is why the Cordoba's successor, the Leon is a hatchback. Now it's 4 years old, lots of little things are beginning to go and it is feeling very tired to drive. Petrol consumption has dropped right down (and yes, it has been serviced regularly by the dealers), and rattles are developing. New car for me please, and not a Seat this time!...

Las Ketchup tastes better than Las Caviar!

Advantages: 4 versions of the world wide smash "Las Ketchup" on this album
Disadvantages: You may not be able to stop dancing and it could cost you your job!

...These four sisters from Córdoba in South Eastern Spain certainly know how to get the party started with their high tempo, harmonic Latin style music set to fast paced guitar strumming and high hat dominated percussion on this 2002 album. This album has sold a mighty 13.5 Million albums world wide. The big, big track on this is the almost addictive "The Ketchup Song", or "Aserejé" as it is known in the Spanish market. "Kusha Las Payas" is in a similar vein. not as catchy but still good to dance to. "De Vez en Cuando" has a more old fashioned South American feel to it and includes maracas and the like. Hey...... while am I even talking about the these other songs?........... This album is definitely all about "THE KETCHUP SONG"...... I'll tell you why, there are 11 tracks on this album and 4 are versions of "THE KETCHUP SONG...
